Hi All, Unfortunately, I won’t be able to post the paint meter pics. I sincerely apologize that I wasn’t able to accommodate the many requests. I am currently out of town and so I’ve been trying to get a friend to take the pics for me but he wasn’t able to make it to the car. I have personally driven this car 500 miles. It performed beautifully and it was a pleasure to drive. You can bid with confidence, you will not be disappointed. While I wasn’t able to take the paint meter to it, I’m not entirely sure there is any paintwork on the car. If there is, it was certainly a quality job and it was blended well. As you can see from the many up-close high-res photos, the car, as well as the paint itself, presents beautifully. Please let me know if there are any other questions I can answer in these last few minutes of the auction. Good luck to all!

Kloureiro , Thank you for the feedback and for your story. I also had the same thing lost brakes and SBC with fully red screen appeared on my instrument cluster. However I paid for that 2200 euros as that was my European car and they did not accept it as a recall. Here in the USA I don’t know. Kloureiro if you can send me an email I have some questions for a Mercedes. Thank you
Thank you for your diligence in looking for the recalls. Is there pictures of the reading from the paint meter and any updates on the extent of the accidents before the bidding ends?
I spoke with Mercedes of Sarasota to see if they did the Sensotronic brake system recall. They said they did not but another Mercedes Dealer did. They only had the dealer code but couldn’t tell me more than that. They said the fact that there are no open recalls other than the sunroof one I mentioned in my comment yesterday, means the brake system recall was absolutely done. They said, otherwise, it would still show it as open. As I also mentioned in my earlier comment, there were recalls done on the car from 2005-2007 so that would cover the window of time that the brake system recall was announced. Thanks
Just so I’m clear the breaking recall was fixed and the warranty was extended to 20 years but from what start date? When the service was done or when the car was first purchased.
@WBuehrle Email has been sent to you for assistance, thanks!
@ivrettosicloud thanks for your comment. These are beautiful cars but the braking system for 2003-2005 was a real problem for Mercedes. My 2005 Mercedes E class suffered complete brake failure and the dealer was shocked that I lost all braking capabilities. It was fortunate I was off the freeway when the entire panel lit red and the car was towed to the Mercedes dealer. The entire braking system was replaced and I was advised that Mercedes has extended the warranty for the braking issue to 20 years. Not sure this is correct but all the work was done free of charge. Still a beautiful car which I’m bidding on. But I agree the Sensotronic braking system issue needs to be addressed.
Where I can see the car tomorrow? 917-376-4711 Mario

Forgive the ignorant question, just tried to bid. New member, verified email address and credit card. Clicked on place bid and nothing happened. What am I missing? Does it take 24 hours or something to verify?
@Greig1756 I thought the same but they said they couldn’t access that level of info. Perhaps because it’s been closed out already.
@HEARTinSTUTTGART Any MB dealership should be able to access that info with the VIN. It’s a centralized data base with MB
Thank you very much for your information. We appreciate it
@ivrettosicloud thanks for catching that. I spoke with the local dealer again. He was able to confirm that additional recalls were taken care of from 2004-2007 and that all recalls are closed out other than the sunroof recall I mentioned in my last comment. He said that likely means the recall you’re asking about was done but that he can’t pull that level of information because it wasn’t done at their dealership. I will attempt to track down the dealership it was done at and get confirmation that the recall was, in fact, done. I will keep you posted. Thanks
The recall was announced by Mercedes Benz in December 2005. A reprogramming of the SBC in 2004 doesn’t means that it was a recall maintenance So pretty much it looks like it wasn’t done. It can be really dangerous. I had to replace the SBC on my old Mercedes and they put me one made by Bosch at the Mercedes dealer. Thank you
Thank you everybody for your patience. Here is the recall information some of you have been asking for: The recall was done on November 8th, 2004 at Mercedes Benz of Nanuet in Nanuet, NY. The recall covered the reprogramming of the SBT hydraulic unit. There is only one open recall on this car and that is for the sunroof. Only if the production date of the glass is within range, the dealer will test the bonding of the glass to the frame. As promised, the paint meter pics are on their way. Thanks
I apologize for the delay. We will be posting the paint meter pics today as well as the recall info. Thank you for your patience.

Is there any update on the brake control recall being done? Or info on the two accidents?

@ivrettosicloud We will check with the Mercedes Dealer tomorrow and post a comment regarding the recall status. Thanks

For those who are interested on buying an E class 2003 -2005. Those cars were equipped with a brake system named Sensotronic brake control In December 2005 Mercedes issued a recall for 680,000 vehicles and wrote with capital letters “we sent you this notice because we are concerned about your safety”. Please google sensotronic brake control and you will find all the information. Has the specific one in this auction done the recall ? Thank you DaimlerChrysler AG (DCAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Model Year 2003 – 2005 E-Class, 2003 – 2005 SL-Class, and 2006 CLS-Class vehicles equipped with Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC). Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) therefore has initiated a recall of these vehicles. Our records indicate that your vehicle is included in the affected population of vehicles. The SBC brake system in certain E-Class, SL-Class and CLS vehicles, in certain instances, may shift to the hydraulic back up mode due to a loosening of the ground wire harness connection over time. In the hydraulic back up mode, the driver has braking power sufficient to stop the vehicle, although greater brake pedal pressure is required and the brake pedal travel will be noticeably longer which could lead to a vehicle crash. IS THE RECALL DONE ON THIS SPECIFIC ONE ? Please advise. Thank you

Hi, welcome to our first auction here on mbmarket. We tried to provide you with as much information as possible on this E320 but please just ask if there is any other info, pics, or videos that you would like to see to help you in your decision making process. Our mechanic did thoroughly inspect the car and we did service it. I will post that information on Monday.. @kulegos76 I apologize for the delay in responding. We don’t have any accident pics. Neither of the incidents on the carfax were significant. I will be able to get you more information on those incidents on Monday. I will also paint meter the car and post pictures of it on Monday as well. I see you sent me a direct message to schedule a time to see it. Absolutely, I will respond to you message and we will schedule a time. Thanks and good luck to all.
