This new in box Ground Control Coilover Suspension Kit was made for the 500E/E500 124.036 and the 400E/E420 124.034 W124 sedans with the M119 engine. Ground Control Suspension is a company based out of California and has been in business since 1980. All of their suspension kits are custom made for the cars when customers contact the company which means this kit was custom built for a customer car by Ground Control Suspension and then never mounded as they are new per the seller. This kit includes double adjustable coilovers with Koni Race struts and Eibach ERS springs with a custom heavy duty spindle bracket, bumpstops, swaybar endlinks, camber arms, trailing links, track bars, and lateral links for the independent five link rear suspension. This complete W124 Ground Control Coilover Suspension Kit is now offered by the seller out of Santa Barbara, California and is willing to ship worldwide if needed.
This new in box Ground Control Coilover Suspension Kit was made for the 500E/E500 124.036 and the 400E/E420 124.034 W124 sedans with the M119 engine. The adjustable five link rear suspension components should fit on W124s with the smaller engines as it’s the same architecture. The swaybar endlinks, camber arms, trailing links, track bars, and lateral links contain motorsport derived rose joints and are fully adjustable for aggressive track alignments to dial in camber, toe, and caster.
The Koni Racing Double Adjustable struts have shortened strut housings. The housings are machined from DOM 1026 steel alloy tubing paired with a heavy duty spindle bracket welded on. Most aftermarket suspension setups for this car use modified OEM housings. These are all custom, machined housings for added strength and durability utilizing skip-welded gussets to prevent heat induced deformity of the metal. The struts are externally adjustable from underneath the hood. The Eibach ERS springs are 800# for the front and 1,200# for the rear with Ground Control Suspension bumpstops that are made in Germany. The rear suspension setup is also height adjustable.
Ground Control Suspension has prepared this strut for coilover use, eliminating machining of critical suspension components.Ground Control Threaded Sleeves is a system designed to eliminate stress risers caused by machining notches into the strut housing. Unlike other companies that claim superiority by cutting threads into a critical component of the suspension, Ground Control Suspension uses engineering to maximize the strength of the suspension.
Ground Control Adjustable Spring Perches are shown in the gallery. This is a unique design that uses an Allen head bolt to clamp the single threaded perch into the correct position. No secondary pieces are needed to "jam" the threaded perch into position.
This complete and never used Ground Control Suspension Kit for the 500E/E500 124.036 and the 400E/E420 124.034 W124 sedans is now offered by the seller out of Santa Barbara, California and the seller is able to assist buyers with shipping needs.
As the M119-powered W124s gain in popularity amongst collectors, the demand for aftermarket parts to replace the stock, non-adjustable, and usually worn suspension components becomes a real issue that needs a solution. Ground Control Suspension got a customer that was crazy enough to request this absolutely beautiful kit. The 500E/E500 always handled well but never truly danced, especially as tire technology has advanced in the 30+ years the car has been around. With a sticky Michelin, the tire begins to outgrip the suspension components, will accelerate wear, and even break the old suspension components during hard performance driving. If you’re a follower of the 500E forums, you’ll see people making W124s into dedicated performance machines. This is where this kit comes in handy. You can extract a ton of performance with the help of a good alignment shop and a E500 will be able to pull Gs that the car was never meant to do with a fully adjustable front and rear suspension setup. It's not just a complete coilover kit, this auction also includes all of the brackets, camber arms, and links needed to maximize the benefit of the coilovers. Whether you're making the ultimate W124 track monster, or want your V8 W124 to handle and feel like a new car, this kit will do the trick and allows you to perfectly dial in the height and stiffness to your liking. We love seeing this stuff on The MB Market, because we’re nerds and we know nerds like us will get equally excited about such a rare kit like this.

I can't imagine how much this cost new to commission. Really cool auction and a great piece of engineering. They're beautiful.
@Dmitriyf1 Yes, that is a possibility.

Would you be willing to install there for the winner?

@gsxr Yes the front springs needs to go ! The rear height adjuster is bolted to lower control arm and the spring goes on top! the front coil overs are easy to install , but you gonna have funny time with rear ones! they are not perfect

@BlueridgeMB As previously stated: "Rear ride height adjusters mount in to the lower control arm, black insulation pad mounts on body side of spring." To help with a visual, I have submitted photos showing installation of rear ride height adjuster and spring installation in the lower control arm.
Any chance of some photos showing the bottom of the rear springs more clearly with that black insert removed? I, like GSXR am a bit curious as to how they have arranged the spring to sit in the factory LCA. IF possible, with that photo a measure of the diameter of that lower coil would also be helpful. Thank you kindly!~

@gsxr No, hence professional installation is recommended.
Thanks! Did GC supply any documentation for installation?
@gsxr Yes, stock front coil springs will be removed. Rear ride height adjusters mount in to the lower control arm, black insulation pad mounts on body side of spring. Professional installation is recommended.
Are the stock front coil springs supposed to be completely removed with this setup installed? Also, how are the rear springs supposed to seat in the rear lower control arm? The rear LCA normally accepts the spring coil directly. Photos of the rear springs above show flat surfaces top & bottom, which do not appear compatible with the stock rear control arm spring seat. Installation documentation from Ground Control would be very helpful. I could not find anything on the GC website.
