The MB Market Insights
These wheels were the stylistic kings for AMG Mercedes vehicles throughout the 90s and early 2000s. Now becoming increasingly rare, finding a set of staggered 17" Aero IIs is becoming harder than ever. These wheels can enhance the stance and curb appeal of nearly any Mercedes instantly. The polished lips on this set give them a proper OEM finish, just like they would've been when new. While these wheels originally came from a W202 C36/C43 AMG, we've also seen them regularly fitted to W124s, W201s, W210s and W208s although they fit other models as well. We're looking forward to seeing what these wheels end up on next!
Hi @dheg. These staggered 17” Monoblocks will fit just fine on your 1998 SL500. The wheels will sit slightly inside the fenders. No spacers will be needed to put this set on your car.
Since I’m asking the expert, what is the recommended tire size using this wheel on that car? Its a different wheel size so not 100% sure which Michelin/Pirelli/Continental will have the best wheel well look for the car.
Thanks!👌
Hi @UncleFred1. These staggered 17” Monoblocks will fit just fine on your 1993 600SL. The wheels will sit slightly inside the fenders. No spacers will be needed to put this set on your car.
Oh wow, they looked identical.
I would need this for a 1993 600SL…I wanted to confirm they will work before bidding. Your help will s appreciated!
Thanks!😊
Hi @UncleFred1. This is another set that has never been listed for auction before now. The set that sold last week was auctioned off by a different seller.
Hi everyone! I am excited to present these 17” Staggered Monoblocks. As mentioned in the literature, this was the original set placed on the W202 C43 Amg. These wheels are a direct fit for the W202, W203, W208, W209, W210, & R170. They can also fit on W124 models. For narrow body W124 owners, using 245/40/17 or 225/45/17 tires works best in the rear. The fenders in the rear would need to be rolled slightly as well for standard W124s. On the 500E, the rears sit perfectly but the fronts sink much too inward for the flared fenders giving it an awkward stance. To fix this issue, using 15-20mm spacers would be ideal. I am here to answer any questions.

They are straight and true with no bends, cracks, or welds. Were any repairs or straightening done prior to refinishing? Have these wheels been tested for roundness and runout?Hi @howS. Yes they will fit on the 124 cabriolet. Using 245/40/17 or 225/45/17 tires works best in the rear. They will work on a 124 cabriolet?$500 bid placed by @UncleFred1
