The body is finished in a two-tone paint scheme with Himalayan Dark Gray (725) over Caspian Black Metallic (972) separated by chrome trim along the beltline and rocker panel. Exterior features include Bi-Xenon headlamps with heated washers, Parktronic parking sensors front and rear, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, roof-mounted solar panels for the climate control system, Keyless-Go, Distronic cruise control and a power trunk. A minor accident is shown on the Carfax report in 2006 with damage to the front left reported as very minor. Small rust bubbles are visible next to the sunroof.
19” Maybach-specific 10-spoke wheels come wrapped in a set of Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires measuring 255/55 on all four corners. A tire rotation was recently performed in March 2023. Braking is handled by a dual-circuit Sensotronic Braking System with two calipers mounted on each front corner.
The cabin is trimmed in Exclusive Black Leather (531) with matching black carpets and a black Alcantara headliner. Amboyna wood veneer lines the front and rear center console, steering wheel, dashboard, door panels and rear instrumentation. Both front and rear seats offer heating and ventilation as well as power adjustability and memory. Interior appointments include an engine start/stop button on the gear selector, COMAND infotainment, a heated steering wheel, a 21-speaker Bose audio system and four-zone automatic climate control. The second row features folding tray tables, vanity mirrors, an integrated phone and gauges for speed, temperature and time.
The wood/leather multifunction steering wheel fronts analog instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Digital instrumentation includes an outside temperature sensor, a digital clock and a digital odometer which currently shows 89k miles.
This Maybach sedan is powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V12 which produces 543 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. A service B was performed in March 2023 including an engine oil change, a tire rotation and a Virginia safety inspection. The seller also reports that a new battery and new alternator were installed in the past 1k miles.
The Carfax report shows four owners with registration reported in North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Linear Mileage updates are present along with regular service visits. The aforementioned minor accident report can be seen in April 2006 with no other accidents or damage reports appearing on the Carfax. This 2004 Maybach 57 is now offered for sale with both keys, the original manufacturer’s literature and a clean Virginia title in the current owner’s name.
Walk-around and driving videos have been provided by the seller below.
It’s often assumed the Maybach revival of the early 2000’s was built on the then-current S-Class chassis (W220) but there’s a very specific reason the chassis code for the Maybach was W240. When engineered, it was discovered the W220 platform wasn’t robust enough to carry the weight for the maybach and perform as intended so the older W140 chassis were modified and given a new life through the brand’s revival. While technology may have been somewhat interchangeable, the Maybach was rebuilt from the ground-up and featured all the usual accoutrements of the finest luxury automobiles from exclusive wood grains to hand stitched and brushed leathers. With a healthy list of luxury features came a healthy price tag, and by the late 2000’s, Mercedes struggled to sell the Maybach which cost twice as much as the contemporary S600. The Maybach brand would later be brought back as a highly equipped S or GLS-Class and never again as a stand alone model. These mid 2000’s Maybachs are now gaining more interest due to their signature over-engineered nature and ignorance of cost which will likely never be seen again from Daimler-Benz in quite the same way.

What’s the reserve
I've been enjoying a 2004 57 similar to this and own a 1997 S600 and the similarities are there, but the W240 amplified the greatness of the W140 600 into one of the most powerful and silent motorcars I've ever driven stunning stopping power. Fit-finish is better than a Phantom and these are still very serviceable overall. Parts are RR/B Ferrari cost and they need a master mechanic to look after them yet a brilliant and stealth luxury machine. This color is really stunning and while we are lacking actual documentation of many items I have had serviced this is still an excellent driver example that appears very useable and very enjoyable while a few items are tended too. Hope the new owner can find the Maybach umbrella and other items it was delivered with!
@Albatros I don't have it unfortunately, but vindecoderz.com does a pretty good job.
By any chance window sticker available to see the added options?
Paint meter readings have been added to the gallery.
@Boatymcboatface Hi! I’ve submitted paint meter pictures, so they should be adding them soon.

@Boatymcboatface OK! So, we have not done anything in house with the brakes, but they do pass our Virginia State Safety Inspection. The last record I see of them is 06/22/2020 on the CarFax, about 3k miles ago. All service history that we have or know of (aside from in-house work like the alternator) is on the CarFax. Mounts haven't been replaced as we haven't seen any issues with them. I ordered a new paint meter to come in, so give me a few days, which works out because it's just been pouring here in VA! Don't hesitate with any other questions.
@Boatymcboatface Hi! I will get everything to you tomorrow!
Seller very nice example - do you have a full service file or VMI? Have the breaks/rotors/pads and motor or transmission mounts been serviced? Are paint meter readings available?
