What did it it cost to refurb these?
Not just offset to consider - I bought a set of winter tires on knockoff 2 peice AMG 18” wheels and the caliper rubbed the inner barrel of the wheel on the front of the S55 I had intended them for. OE 18” w220 AMG wheels did clear (I had test fitted before I bought the others!) and I would expect these would clear, and there are almost certainly brake size variations among the AMG w220’s, but potential bidders should be aware of all the possibilities.
You should also keep in mind that not all a 18 inch wheels will clear the front calipers on a W220 S 55
If you’ve bought the other number at retail, I don’t think I’m gonna be real competitive - but we’ll try!
@S55MIna - or at least the 19" version of these from a W220!
@S55Mina - your S55 should have the other style two piece Cromodora's - leave these for me!
I wish my wagon was graphite grey metallic like the sample car.... Silver is next best though.
If you'll share the VIN for the designo car, I'd love to know if the color is factory, but it won't affect my bidding regardless! Have a silver E63 Wagon I hope to have out of the body shop by the end of year, and it needs these wheels like I need fresh air.
The reference pictures are almost certainly the 19" version from the W221's, just based on amount of rubber visible. In my opinion, the 19's are too big. EPC only shows one part number, with no color code variations for this wheel. So I think they were never offered this way, but I think they should have been! See ya'll in a couple hours!
Please post the w211 reference pics so I can drool!!!
Were these wheels ever offered in this color combo? I know its the same color combo as the R230 2 Piece Cromodora's, and honestly I LOVE it, but did see any in this color combo when looking at comps.
Shipping cost to 37923?
Any service history? Current ownership pretty brief?
Can MBmarket put me in touch with seller to see if we can make a deal happen?
Can’t imagine I’m hitting reserve
Shipping quote to USA zip 37923, please
I sort of accidently bought a set of wheels from this seller - had I known they were in Beirut I might not have bid - but their communication was excellent, and even though 1 wheel took longer to get here than the other 3, they were in touch with me the whole time trying to provide updates, and it did get here eventually. And the wheels were flawless and well packaged - wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again!
AC is a closed system so the refrigerant does not "naturally diminish with use." Probably a small leak, hopefully some dye was added to help find it, although that's not indicated on the invoice, but your answer is either ignorant or untruthful. Was getting sketchy car dealer vibes when the brake prices were posted with OE MSRP prices and part numbers that corresponded to aftermarket parts, but that seals the deal for me. GLWA
Looks like AC was recharged, I don't see any indication that a leak was fixed - was it not able to be located?
Do these have 12mm or 14mm lug holes?
Per the supplied VIN via Mercedes EPC, and implied by the 3.0L auction text, this should have an OM617 engine, but appears to have an OM605, which would be a 2.5L. Any insight regarding this discrepancy? I think its an improvement, to be clear, but odd.
3rd row?
Is the avantgarde badging stock? Carbon wrap or full carbon piece on trunk lid?
Pretty sure this didn't come with a black headliner from MB - is it actually alcantara replacement? Also, rear setup is not struts - have the springs been replaced, or both springs and shocks?
More info on the euro spec exhuasT?
Can we get like 5-7k more out of this so I can justify a nice repaint on mine, please?
Can seller assist with shipping at buyer expense?
Northern car - underside pictures?
Ad copy sort of implies you're buying them where they sit, and seller doesn't want anything to do with shipping - I get that shipping cost is on the buyer, but is the selling willing to package them for shipping and facilitate the logistics?
Sorry for all the questions, but I like this thing... the ad mentions the glass stores in the doors, can you confirm that everything is there to mount the glass such that the car is watertight? I don't have a garage spot for it and would need to keep it outside!
To clarify response to ABLatham, is the wiper assembly included?
Can you tell us more about the radio install? Who did it, any alternator whine as is typical with RCA to MOST modules, steering wheel controls still work?
@amgjunkie Did you leave the cable and hardware place from the hood release, or pull everything when you installed the hood pins?
Any chance you have the wiper assembly? Plan to run this in a series that runs in the rain. Doesn't look like any harnesses have been cut, other than presumably the PSE harness?
Lap times at Road Atlanta? Has it run in any series races, or just track days?
I mean, its not my PERFECT w221 because I'd rather have one a couple years newer..... but this color combo is just bonkers beautiful in person. Actually I take it back, its really ugly and overdone, and no one should bid on it.
@Autocrat- Market Insights looks to be gleaned from the Maybach Wiki, which doesn't provide a reference for that information. Its something that's been thrown around since these were new, but I've yet to see anything definitive, and the more I learn about them, the less likely it seems to be based on fact rather than speculation. The idea that the W220 wasn't heavy duty enough is ridiculous - armored Pullman W220's weigh nearly a ton more than a 62. Just curious if a primary source exists.
Can anyone provide a reference regarding the Maybach being built on the W140 platform? It’s something that gets thrown around a lot when discussing these cars but I find to be odd given how much crossover there is in terms of mechanical suspension and interior components with the W220.
