This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbodiesel was originally sold in Florida where it remained until 1998 when it was moved to New York. In 2005, the car was relocated back to Florida and then to MIssissippi in 2010 where it was found and purchased by the selling dealer in early 2022. Finished in Cabernet Red Metallic (587) over a Beige MB-Tex (155) interior, power comes from a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-five paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a painted power sunroof, automatic climate control, an original Becker head unit, and power windows, locks, and passenger side mirror. This W123 shows 56k miles and is offered with factory literature, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Mississippi title.
The car is finished in Cabernet Red Metallic (587) and features chrome-accented domestic-spec bumpers and trim, glass headlamps, a painted electric sliding sunroof, and an electrically adjustable passenger-side mirror. The trim, bumpers, and door handles are reportedly original to the car and the brightwork shows light sun damage according to the seller. A spot of clear coat failure can be seen to the right of the emblem on the trunk lid. Detailed photos of the exterior are viewable in the gallery.
Factory Bundt 14″ alloy wheels are equipped and wear Kumho Solus tires measuring 195/70 on all four corners. Braking is handled by rotors on all four corners.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Beige MB-Tex (155) with matching beige door panels, carpets, and lower dashboard. The steering wheel and upper dashboard are trimmed in Black along with the shift knob and center console trim. Wood trim adorns the dashboard and center console with minimal fading shown and a couple cracks left of the shifter surround and between window switches. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, power door locks, and an original Becker head unit.
Instrumentation includes a 125-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock. Additional auxiliary gauges include coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level which all function properly. The six-digit odometer shows just under 56k miles.
The 3.0-liter OM617 turbo-diesel inline-five features a single Garrett turbocharger and Bosch fuel injection. Power was factory rated at 123 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and is sent to the rear wheels via a 722.3 four-speed automatic transmission. In preparation for the sale the selling dealer has performed an oil and filter change.
Additional underbody photos are viewable in the gallery below.

WOW! This is really nice. Why don’t the rest of you take the day off and ignore this auction? :) Great colors!
As this is the final day for this auction, we'll be standing by to answer any questions you might have. Right after we acquired this car, I drove it on a 400 mile round trip (to look at a 1927 Nash) and the car did great! No rattles, no squeaks. The car is comfortable and quiet at highway speeds. It was a perfect opportunity to see if everything worked, like the radio, A/C and so on. The car was previously owned by a small business owner in Mississippi and used sparingly as company business transportation. It sat most of the time inside. We really like this car. As most of you probably know, its hard to find a car in this condition with these few miles. Mercedes built their cars to be driven and driven. My father's 1970 MB 230 Sedan had 257,000 on it before he traded it for a 1990 300D. Good luck to those bidding!

To our knowledge, the vacuum system is operating normally and without any discernible issues.
Never mind - see AC. Please just clarify vacuum
Can you please elaborate on the condition of the vacuum system and A/C
Heater works as well.
134 conversion and A/C blows cold.
Does the AC/Heat work? R134?

@sowmsarvind undercarriage pictures you're referring to show factory undercoating and production line inspection markings. Its our understanding that no additional undercoating has been applied to this car.
Good looking car - Was the underbody sprayed with rust inhibitors? Also, what is the white paint in pics 89,93,97?
Good morning to The MB Market! We wanted to let you all know at the onset of this auction we'll be as responsive as needed. We know how hard it is to find a 300D turbodiesel with super low miles like this one and expect you'll have lots of questions. Feel free to ask away. GLWTA, Greenbrier Classic Cars.
The engine that keeps on going and going and going and going. 56k miles is impressively low for one of these!
