This 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC was brought to the U.S. as a gray market import in 1985 and shows just 46k miles on the odometer. Finished in Classic White (737) over Palomino Leather (274), power is provided by a 5.0-liter M117 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 16” AMG Penta wheels, AMG front and rear bumpers, side skirts, an AMG steering wheel, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, and a power sunroof. In 2022 the car received a full repaint in the factory color as well as a cleaning of the fuel system. This 500SEC is now offered for sale by the seller in Miami, Florida with a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Classic White (737) and features AMG bumpers front and rear, along with sculpted AMG side skirts and a trunk mounted spoiler, all of which were installed in Germany prior to export in 1985 and show AMG stamps. The car received a professional repaint in the original color in 2022. Exterior features include a power sliding sunroof, an automatic antenna, a power adjustable passenger side mirror and headlamp wiper/washers. The car retains it's Euro-spec lighting and bumpers, and all chrome has been painted to match the car as part of the AMG treatment.
Polished 16” AMG Penta wheels feature original premerger AMG center caps and come fitted with new Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 tires measuring 225/50 all around with 2023 date codes.
The cabin is trimmed in Palomino Leather (274) with Burl Walnut wood trim lining the center console, gearshift, dashboard and door panels. The front seats are power adjustable and heated with working seat belt extenders. An Italvolanti AMG steering wheel is fitted along with extended AMG wood trim on the doors. The seller notes visible wear on the leather, carpets, and wood veneer along with a sagging headliner.
An authentic Italvolanti AMG steering wheel fronts gauges including a 160-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, fuel economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer reads just over 46k miles and the cluster was federalized when the car was imported in 1985.
This C126 is powered by a 5.0-liter M117 V8 which is factory rated at 228 horsepower and 299 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with the help of a limited-slip differential. The seller reports the gas tank was drained and fuel system cleaned in 2022. Underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
The tag in the driver doorjam shows the car was imported to the U.S. and federalized in May 1985. This 500SEC is now offered in Miami, Florida with a clean Florida title.

@TheAMGKit thank you so much
beautiful car good luck with sale bernard
@motorderby yeah many AMG grey market cars from this era had the white out look , badges , grill , stainless trim and pentas …. I agree with the seller . They look great and if the new owner wants to make them look more period correct he can easily paint the centers ….

@Amgkris I think the silver/polished wheels are refreshing. White centers are a little too 80's for me, especially since the grill is white as well. I think black centers could look good.
@Amgkris Thanks. The good thing about being polished, is that you can always refinish the centers in white, which would look amazing with polished tips
Nice to see un-molested versions . Not sure if I like the pentas polished or with body matched centres better ….. thoughts ?
