Anthracite pre-merger AMG's are beautiful, such an amazing/unique color. I remember when this car was for sale ages ago, it couldn't have ended up in better hands for the last 15 years than the current owners. Goodluck with the sale, sad to see it go but so excited to see your WB come together!
@TheMBManiacLater euro logs differed between gen1 and gen2 engines. The back half of the manifolds were a little larger to accomodate a larger downpipe diameter. With that being said, these heads will accept both early and later log manifolds, AMG m117, and MB tri-y's.
The blended ducktail is a nice Westmont touch, glws
I'm amazed by how much pano tops go for considering that the cars themselves struggle to break $10k.
@AmgkrisI think the silver/polished wheels are refreshing. White centers are a little too 80's for me, especially since the grill is white as well. I think black centers could look good.
Midnight Blue over blue interior is one of my favorite combinations – beautiful car, glws!
@T8KCtrue but its ready for more with the 722.6 :) The only instance I've heard of AMG swapping to euro bumpers was for the US-spec WB. This is a pretty unique build, glws!
I too remember when this was for sale in NZ years ago. I think what makes this example special are some of the details that it has maintained all of these years; the illusive 5.4 badge, modified dual snorkel, the painted outside edge of the wheels, slightly-aged center caps, and the amazing color-matching Italvolanti wheel. As much as I like period Recaro's I think the stock seats are refreshing. @48hp and @AMG5pt4, its nice to have a surviving example to reference :)
I've always preferred gen1 WB's over later examples. They are simpler, focused on performance over luxury + you can't beat WB Pentas :). I don't remember the last time a gen1 was sold at auction. GLWS, beautiful example.
@PhilippTtuvYes, I just installed one on a '92 8v.
These are really hard to come by stateside, especially complete – GLWS!
