🚨10 minutes left!🚨 This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL is almost out the door. If you've been waiting for the right SEL to come along, this is it, classic boxy styling, a legendary V8 under the hood, and that unmistakable presence that makes everything else on the road look like a toy car. This one drives like a dream. Solid, smooth, and full of character. It has all the charm of the early S-Class’s without feeling outdated. This vehicle is ready for Canada and international markets, and we'll ensure a smooth and hassle free experience with door to door transportation to all Canadian provinces via railway, open carrier, or enclosed transport, based on your budget. We work closely with transporters and always love passing down the savings to customers, so bid with confidence knowing you have our full support. Of course I’ll help you the best way possible. @burden good catch. New muffler rubber loop will be bought and installed for the passenger side. It is not bent, just seems like it’s missing. There are no clunks or noises so it has been neglected. It will be done for the sale. As for the rust, yes these OEM exhausts are known to rust over the years. However I do below it’s only the outer shell. Very very rare cases does it really corrode the exhaust. Especially since it’s driven and not just parked :)
Thank you. On photo 376 - The muffler is missing hook and the rubber loop at the end. Maybe it’s bent. Other side has it. Passenger side might not last long. Outer shell might have rust hole. Over time the rubber loop on the other side could give out. ( I fixed exhausts and various vehicles for living)
@burden and all other BIDDERS: UNDERSIDE photos have been added, you can see no rust (apart from the stainless steel exhaust) and the new suspension components, especially towards the front end, almost everything is gloss black (indicating the new parts).
Underbody photos have been added to the end of the gallery.
@burden Hello! 1. Steering wheel: If the buyer wants the OEM steering wheel put on, it will be 100% included in the sale and delivered with the OEM steering wheel. It will be put on. The system is all intact. The wire was unplugged, when OEM steering wheel is being installed, the airbag wire can be connected and it will be fully operational. 2. Underside: Last time it had gotten an underside wash, it showed no rust. I will take some underside photos now, and upload them for tomorrow morning. 3. I unfortunately don’t have the hood FOAM. However, I’m sure I can source one for the buyer. Like I keep mentioning, with what seems reasonable, I will DEFINITELY work with the buyer and make sure they are happy. I have a lot of friends in the industry of old Benz’s.
Hello. Although the custom steering wheel looks classic. Can the airbag steering wheel be system fixed? How’s the underside? Vancouver, Canada is heavy on road salt use.(I used to live there many years) last. Do you have under hood foam?
@maxx hi max, I think you are confused with a different paint. The paint done to this vehicle is the new EMERALD GREEN METALLIC 989.
Emerald Green is paint code 189
@GoBoGo 100% understood and agree. Thank you:) However, I would say majority of the flaws will be taken care of. Winner will be happy, guarantee.

Hello everyone, happy Victoria weekend for those on the west coast of Canada! A video has been uploaded of this 560SEL, showcasing the beauty and elegance it brings. It is truly a masterpiece and this video shows you everything you need to see of it. Yes it has some imperfections which are due to the age of the vehicle but won’t be going for the six figures its true AMG form goes for. Here the list of pieces that will be changed for the sale: - Brand new hardware for the wheels - Overspray on the door cards will be taken care of - Driver side b pillar rip will be taken care of - Glass sun roof cover re installed on sunroof - New center console wood trim piece (matching the rest) - New rear passenger door wood trim (matching the rest) Like I said earlier, if the buyer wants anything specifically done, it will be done as long as it’s in normal reason. Thank you for reading, and happy bidding! AMG FASHION
A video of the car has been added to the listing.

@ReiB great catch! Just simply unplugged the dash light so the sign went away :) Yes unfortunately there is a bit of over spray. This will also be taken care of for the sale. I’m thinking of creating a list and posting it in the comments of the things that will be done for the sale. I just want the bidders to know…you will be taken care of.
$5,000 bid placed by @Ranger902
If I recall, this vintage had a driver's airbag. Did you just unplug the dash light, or was the system removed? Also, is that paint overspray on the door panel, seat trim?

@seller it's more an issue of passing a every two year smog test. Our state has strict laws. There is a Leno Law in process but I do not believe it's been passed yet. GLWTA
@Ntrepid yes the fabric has a rip in it on the driver side B-Pillar. It will be fixed for the sale. There are a few things that will be fixed for the sale. Small things like this, don’t worry! I will work with the buyer and all will be answered.
Does the driver side B-pillar have an issue? Where the pictures done while it was being refinished?
Who wants a 4K video of this beauty! Stay tuned. By the weekend it should be uploaded. Exterior shots, interior shots, interior driving, exterior driving, etc..
@ArmyGuy63 thank you! Of course! I’d love for this car to drive out of my driveway one last time instead of a trailer taking it! I’d want to do the same if I were buying it. Yes, I will help you in every way possible.
@Virafp thank you! If the challenge you are referring to is importing…it’s not a challenge at all! Very straight forward, and very cheap. I would be more than happy to help with the process. Is the challenge importing? Remember there is only a 2.5% duty/fee. Nothing else.
**NO 25% TARIFFS** Welcome to my auction of this spectacularly 560SEL. I am proud to be handling the sale on MBMarket. Extensive amount of work, time and money has gone into this vehicle for it to be where it is, the attention to detail is truly tremendous. I wanted to address a few things. - It's a Canadian specification car. Canadian buyers will pay 5% GST + provincial sales tax if applicable - For American buyers, importing into the US is straightforward and no taxes or fees are levied on the Canadian side. The car does not need any modification to meet USA standards. - Current import costs are: **NO 25% TARIFFS** a 2.5% duty and a few hundred dollars in broker fees. TX International will ship it to you, and their in-house broker will handle all the paperwork. You can request a quote from them here https:// www.tfxinternational.com/ It can take them a couple of days for them to respond so it's best to get in touch with them early. Vehicle: I bought this 560SEL with 177,xxx KMS in 2022. It was no where near the condition it is in now. Engine, transmission, exterior, interior, anything and everything you can think of is different. I put in tremendous amount of time and effort to get it my TRUE daily driver. Yes I’ve been daily driving this vehicle for 1.5 years, I’ve put on almost 35,xxx KMS. You can see what’s been done to it through the description so I won’t waste time writing that here. This is one of those cars you will think about later and say “I should have just bid on it”, why? Because it won’t go for six figures like the REAL AMG cars, and I know that, I understand that. But this is as close to you’ll get without paying the price. And yes, it has some imperfections, but a true car enthusiast knows..the car can never be perfect, unless….it sits in the garage. As mentioned, every 5-6k km I did oil changes with only 5W-40 full synthetic oil (fall/winter) and 15W-40 for the spring/summer. Once again thank you everyone for joining in, I'm excited to see what we can do with this auction, someone will be taking this classic home and I hope they can enjoy it at least half as much as I did. Zero complaints from the car, all in one. As always, I'll be monitoring the auction closely, and feel free to use the Contact Seller button as well. Good luck, everyone!
This is really a beautiful looking car!! @Seller IF I was to bid and win this, would you be able to get me the Canadian paperwork sent to me here in AZ so I could Title it, Register it as a classic and come up there to drive it home? I’d love to make a road trip out of it’s arrival to my home as opposed to shipping it.
@Virafp IF I were still in CA and wanted it, I’d just do it and register it in Montana.
What a beautiful stance....unfortunately I live in California and this is the challenge, or I would be a bidder!
