This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL shows first documented registration in New Jersey in 1990 with subsequent registrations in Pennsylvania, Florida, and most recently in Virginia since 2001. Finished in Signal Red (568) over Anthracite Leather (271), power is provided by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a removable paint-matched original hardtop, original Becker head unit, air conditioning with automatic climate control, a black soft top, and an installed Kinder Seat in the rear. Documented services are shown on the included Carfax report from various Mercedes-Benz repair facilities. The exterior shows normal wear and light blemishes in the paint including various rock chips and paint bubbles behind the left front wheel and in front of the right rear wheel.
This 560SL wears original silver-painted 15x7” Gullideckel wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Turanza tires measuring 205/65 on all four corners and wearing 2014 date codes. Light chipping is noted on the wheels but no major curb rash, bends or damage is otherwise visible.
The cabin is upholstered in Anthracite Leather (271) across the seats, door cards, armrest, head rests, and shift knob. The dashboard is capped in a matching black unit and the Burl wood trim shows cracks and fading at the center console. The cabin also shows original black carpets along with matching floor mats. Interior features include factory air conditioning with automatic climate control, an Anthracite Leather-trimmed rear Kinder Seat, and the original Becker head unit. Normal wear can be seen across the interior and the kinder seat installation is reversible.
The digital odometer shows 144k original miles. Instrumentation includes VDO gauges featuring a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and an analog odometer with trip function. Additional gauges include fuel level, oil pressure, fuel economy, and an analog clock. The gauges are trimmed with chrome rings and feature electronic warning lights along the base of the cluster.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired to a 722.3 automatic four-speed transmission. No service records beyond what’s noted in the included Carfax report are included. The seller notes the SL runs and drives well without issue.
The Carfax report lists linear mileage updates and no accidents or damage reported since new. This 560SL is now offered with factory literature, an original tool kit, first aid kit, two keys, and a clean Virginia title.
