The body is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) with a full AMG body kit reportedly installed by AMG Japan when new, polished bumper caps, beltline trim, and window surrounds. This Euro-market example features smaller European bumpers and euro-spec headlights with headlight wipers, amber turn signal lenses, rear spoiler and a rear heckblende. A three-step paint correction and ceramic coating were applied in 2022. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage reported from its record of June 2007 through the present. The seller notes that minor rock chips and imperfections commensurate with a car of this vintage are present and close-up photos of the paint condition are provided in the gallery.
The car is fitted with era-correct 3-piece 17” OZ Aero III AMG wheels wearing BF Goodrich G-force Comp-R tires measuring 245/45 up front and 275/40 in the rear. In 2022, all new yellow Bilstein shocks were installed on the vehicle. The seller notes that a hole is present in AMG Sebring exhaust and front brake pads and rotors may need replacement in the near future.
The cabin is trimmed in Black leather (251) with burl wood trim and features heated front seats, an AMG Momo steering wheel, power windows, a power sunroof, central locking, automatic climate control, cruise control, dual rear headrests, and a driver’s airbag. Original AMG branded floormats are installed in the front cabin footwells and pictured in the gallery. The original Becker Grand Prix cassette stereo has been replaced with an Alpine unit w/trunk-mounted amplifiers and speakers mounted in the driver and passenger footwells. The seller reports the air conditioning and rear sunshade are currently inoperable.
The leather-wrapped AMG steering wheel frames a set of white AMG-branded gauges with a 300-kph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and fuel economy. The six-digit odometer shows 139k Km (~86k miles).
The fuel-injected 5.5-liter M117 V8 was factory rated at 296 horsepower with 336 lb-ft of torque in European spec and routes power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Recent service includes a cleaning of the Jetronic system, cleaned injectors with new gaskets, new fuel injector holders, vacuum hose bypass tube, fuel distributor flex hose, new valve cover gaskets, oil/filter service, new cap and rotor, all new OEM belts, new spark plugs, replacement of the idle air control valve, new breather hoses, battery, lower radiator hose, and reservoir. Underbody photos are viewable in the gallery below that feature original AMG stampings on the body kit.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates and no accidents during time in Canada and Illinois from June 2007 to 2022. This Euro SEC coupe is now offered with one keys, original tool roll, a clean Carfax report and a clean Illinois title.
A walkaround and driving video is viewable below:
In recent years the value of ‘pre-merger’ AMG cars have begun to soar. As these cars continue to grab the spotlight at auctions and private sales alike, the values only seem to be rising. The term ‘pre-merger’ is still new to many, but refers to the cars modified by AMG prior to the formal purchase of AMG by Mercedes-Benz. One of AMG’s greatest achievements is the legendary version of the 500/560SEC and current market reports will reaffirm the desirability through multiple recorded sale figures. While the widebody variant still commands top dollar, narrowbody AMG SECs are keeping pace and are increasingly desirable for those who seek something more subtle but equally as sinister. This example is even more interesting with a desirable color combination and AMG Japan heritage coupled with the German-ordered, Euro-spec details. As these get harder (and more expensive) to find, you’ll regret not jumping on this one now.

@djc1117 Thank you, thank you!
@e30m3scott It appears to be an issue with your card on file. We’ll reach out to you privately to help you get it sorted moving forward, thanks.
Hey MB Market I was trying to place bids and they didn't go through whats the deal?
Congrats @JMetcalfe !
Congrats metcalfe-well bought!
Here we goooo!
If the AC is a result of bad accumulators that need to be replaced in the dash, you’ll be looking at around $2k for a complete rebuild like I had to on my ‘88 SEC. But that is complete worst case scenario.
$59,000 bid placed by @JMetcalfe
Great to see the euro sec cars are finally pulling bigger numbers. My euro AMG Tribute car did well in May also, good luck to all!
I have an sec and had my AC fixed for sub $400 they are quite simple systems. This Gen 2 will be the one that slipped away for many who don’t bid to win. I don’t recall the last time a genuine kitted euro model sold here in the US. Kudos to MB Market for finding the heat and bringing it time and time again. This one is about as good as it gets
This late model euro spec s/b more powerful & given good maintenance a worthwhile investment. Nothing like the lines of SEC. GLWTA

@JMetcalfe an ac compressor is around 500 so you should be able to have this sorted for under 1000 it all depends on the shop rate and or if fixing yourself. I Do not have an estimate for it . Thank you
@Youngclassicamg Well, thanks for responding, but your answer isn’t particularly helpful. So AC repair costs UNKNOWN.
@JMetcalfe im pretty sure it will just need a Compressor. Unless you can free up the existing one. Typically you would replace the compressor and ac dryer.

Have you gotten an estimate on the AC? What does it need? Compressor, condenser???

Additional photos from inside the trunk have been added to the end of the gallery.
@MRTIKKET hello I submitted the photos yesterday they should be posted today. You are more than welcome to schedule a PPI through a third party . I would also advise seeing the car in person if you have any other concerns. Thank you
@Youngclassicamg so the rails are less then 10 years old and timing chain stretch is below 3 degrees at either bank? Tensioner is Genuine and per the rails is less then 10 years old? It has a date stamp on it you could provide a photo of that. I don't much want to have to invest in a full round of timing in addition to other work. Any luck with under rear window/through the portals photos documenting No Rust....Have been down this path as well and it is Not an enjoyable one.
Should be around 2k i would assume
$33,000 bid placed by @Saltypeanuts911
How much to ship out to Toronto Ontario ??
@MRTIKKET i answered the question about chain and rails below, ill try to grab pictures today. Thank you
Timing chain/tensioner and rails? Photos of under the rear window? Thank you!
@MRTIKKET Hello the attached video will answer your wheel question and seatbelt presenter question. There are no cracks that I have seen on the wheels. There is no visible rust in the areas you mentioned. Those valve cover stickers appear to be replica stickers someone prior to me applied. Timing chain and guides I was told do not need to be done when I had the most recent work done. There are no solid lifters or engine mods that I know of. The seat belt presenters work.
Few questions before diving in: Are all the wheels Crack free? Resolution is bad enough that I ca not make it out. Timing chain, chain tensioner and rails? Any record of this work being done? Pictures of current timing/chain stretch from when the valve covers were off? Those AMG stickers are valve adjustment specs. Does this car have solid lifters? A photo inside the oil fill cap will show it there are solid lifter clips or not, again baring any photos from when work was completed. Really would be great to have photos of the body portals under the rear window, the One weak spot rust wise on a C126, does require half climbing into the trunk to get some good shots and video. Seat belt presenters, no mention that I saw if they are functioning properly. Thank you.
The listing has been updated to report the AC is currently inoperable and was inadvertently not included. The seller also reports the rear sunshade is inoperable as well. Thank you
@Youngclassicamg Why was this not disclosed in the listing? Anything else inoperable not working not listed in the original listing? Thank you in advance.

@Nineelevenwerks Number is direct to me. Between 10-12 would be great as I'll be sitting in the waiting room while my wife gets lasiks;) I'll look for your call.
One of the first owners of this car reached out to me and said he may have a bunch of records from the car when he imported it from Japan in 2005 so I can get the winner of the auction these details when I receive them.
@BlueridgeMB can we get on a call tomorrow? Who should I ask for when I call the shop?
Damn this thing looks Euro gangster. If I didn’t already have a 500E I’d pursue for sure.
@Ali63 We have a couple different cams that will run on CIS/CISE and still work with out getting into semi/full stand alone. Headers we have on the shelf. Diff, no problem. Bergwerks First gear start modules are Long gone, but we have some options. This car should already have FGS w/ the E & S switch FWIW. If you really want to make in snazzy we can do a period Getrag 265 swap :)
Since this one appears to be an optic only car. @BlueridgeMB What are the options now for headers, cams, trans FGS, diff?
@louishopper The AC is inop
Beautiful car, does the AC work?
@tgibson37 haha only if it were a wagon then maybe
@BlueridgeMB thank you yes it only has euro logs but with your expertise someone can get the good stuff installed 😉
If you watch the video you can get a better view of the decklid and all of the paint a Etc. Looks like perhaps some imperfections under the clearcoat.
In pics 70,71&72 it looks like scrapes in the paint on the back of the decklid actually behind the emblems. Any idea what's up with that?
@Roofsforcars if they did I think the car would be priceless haha. But they are loud
Can they play La cucharita?
@Roofsforcars the Horns were installed by someone previously they are Bosch air horns.

Having been around w126's for about 22 years I can say for a fact a euro Gen 2 spec with AMG goodies is a rare bird stateside. In my opinion, they are the ultimate expression of clean and tidy SEC AMG. The euro bumpers not only reflect the design intent compared to the US diving board bumpers but they also sit very low in comparison to Gen 1 lips and bumpers which gives such an aggressive look. Heavy hitter for sure and a nice follow up to the Hammer. Well done MB market on pulling the rarities. wow
