This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300SL was sold new at Benson Motor Cars of Annapolis, Maryland on October 12, 1990 and remained with the original owner until 1999. This 9,800-mile example is finished in Signal Red (568) over Beige (275) leather and is powered by a 3.0L DOHC 24v M104 inline-six backed by a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, power windows and mirrors, a hydraulically operated black fabric top, rear “kinder seats” with a fold-down parcel shelf and a matching removable hardtop. This R129 is now offered by the selling dealer in Massachusetts with a clean Carfax report, original manufacturer’s literature and leather pouch, two original keyfobs, and a clean Maine title.
The exterior is finished in Signal Red (568) with matching Signal Red lower cladding and features integrated fog lamps, headlight washer/wipers, ribbed taillight lenses, a panoramic windshield wiper, an automatic antenna, a black fabric top, and a color-keyed removable hardtop. The paint is believed to be all original and the paint condition is consistent with the car's sub-10k mile history.
Factory 16″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are free of curbing or other major imperfections and are fitted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires showing 2014 date codes. A full-sized spare wrapped in a Pirelli tire is housed in the trunk along with the original tool roll and OEM spare tire instruction tag from the factory.
The power-adjustable front seats feature memory settings and are upholstered in Beige (275) leather with matching door panels, console, carpeting, and a hard boot cover. The dashboard is finished in black, and burl wood trim accents the center stack, shifter surround, and doors. The rear Kinder seat w/folding parcel shelf was installed circa 1999 to accommodate the owner’s small children and can easily be removed, as desired. Amenities include automatic climate control, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, and a Becker Grand Prix 2000 AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, a clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just over 9,800 miles, approximately 300 of which reportedly were added by the current owner over 3 years.
The 3.0L 24v DOHC M104 inline-six produced 228 horsepower and 201 lb-ft of torque when new and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels.
The May 2022 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage along with registration history in Maryland and Maine from new. This exceptional R129 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Carfax report, original manufacturer’s literature and leather pouch, tool roll, two original keyfobs, and a clean Maine title.

Hi everybody, thanks for the bids and great comments on this stunning SL. It is truly needing nothing, ready to drive anywhere, and in time capsule condition. I hope the next owner puts 100k miles on it! Thanks all, Adam Check / Copley Motorcars

Red over tan is such a classic color on the R129. Excellent example from a highly reputable dealer who always has quality cars. GLWA!

The R129 was the last real SL we've had. Not that the R230 was bad but after that they just started getting out of sorts and really lost the design elements that made these so iconic. Fantastic example here with such low mileage

Can't go wrong with a low mileage R129. Guaranteed to have a solid return on investment here if history has shown us anything. Love it!
