This 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 cabriolet was originally sold new at Baker Motor Company of Charleston, SC for a retail price of $79,595. Finished in Polar White (149) over Gray (268) leather with a Black (740) soft top, power comes from a a 3.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a power-retractable black soft top, eight-hole 15″ chrome alloy wheels, headlight wipers, power-adjustable and heated front seats, Tempomat cruise control, automatic climate control, a wind deflector, and a factory AM/FM stereo with cassette player, optional CD changer, and factory active bass loudspeaker system. Service in 2020 includes replacement of the water pump, rear shifter bushings, drive belt, tensioner and battery. The car spent time in Tennessee prior to its acquisition by the seller in 2014, and it now shows just over 41k miles. This A124 cabriolet is now offered with an original window sticker, binder of service records since new, owner’s manual, factory literature, three original keys, three sets of floormats, original magazine feature, a spare set of factory wheels, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Polar White (149U) with red and gray pinstriping along the bodyline and a light gray lower cladding. This A124 features headlight washers and wipers, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a power antenna. The power-operated black soft top is shown in its raised position in the gallery below. A small rear bumper imperfection on the driver’s side is also highlighted in the gallery. The paint is believed to be all original on this example as supported by the attached clean Carfax report.
OEM 15″ chrome eight-hole alloy wheels were added in 2011 and wear 195/65 Continental ContiProContact tires with 2011 date codes. The seller will also include an OEM set of 15" aluminum (non-chrome) alloy wheels with the sale, if desired by the buyer.
The front and rear seats are trimmed in Gray leather (268) with a matching lower dashboard, carpets, and door panel inserts. Burl wood veneers accent the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats with position memory for the driver, automatic climate control, cruise control, a wind deflector, glass rear window with defrost, and a factory cassette stereo with optional factory CD player and OEM active bass loudspeaker system.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with integrated analog clock, and a combination gauge that shows fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil-pressure readouts. The analog six-digit odometer shows 41k miles.
The 3.2-liter M104 inline-six was rated at 217 horsepower when new, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Service in 2020 includes replacement of the water pump, rear shifter bushings, drive belt, tensioner and battery. The seller notes that the car does not have any discernable leaks and that a pressure test performed in 2020 confirmed that pressure is normal, however, the head gasket has not been previously replaced. A binder of service records since new will accompany the car.
The October 2021 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration and service history in Tennessee and Pennsylvania through its most recent entry in April 2021. A copy of a MBCA "The Star" magazine featuring a similar example will be included with the sale.
A video demonstrating the convertible top operation as well as driving footage of the vehicle can be viewed below.

Beautiful example in classic colors for the A124. My brother has this exact car with 54k miles on it and I have done a good bit of work on his. All the big questions have been asked and answered, so the new owner will have several items to address - upper wiring harness (mandatory), lower wiring harness, Electronic Throttle Actuator (same eco junk wiring - mandatory), hydraulic cylinders (mandatory), head gasket and front timing chain seal (mandatory at some time in the future). The wiring harness is NLA but can be bought off eBay as an updated used harness - just make sure the F.D. date is post 1990's and the harness was removed carefully. The lower harness is not as critical as the upper harness is - also NLA. The ETA is the throttle body and has the crap wiring. Don Roder in Alabama is THE guy to source one from. The hydraulic cylinders are a guarantee failure point and they will all have to be replaced - this is a proactive item so you don't get stuck with a soft top that won't open and won't get stuck with a puddle of hydraulic fluid somewhere. Top Hydraulics is a great choice for the rebuilt cylinders. I would also recommend the new owner buy and replace the 3rd brake light assembly (the whole thing not just the lens) as the rubber seal around the lens fails and water gets into the trunk. Buy two and save one for later. These aren't minor maintenance items - figure $8-$12k. When all done, this Cab will be a wonderful and classy car.

There have been several inquiries (very reasonable) concerning the head gasket. Obviously we have some very knowledgeable watchers who are aware of this very common issue with this model engine. I am told that the original gaskets were made from materials (since upgraded) which will degrade over time, and miles. I have owned Miss Blondie since October of 2014 and she has been a delightful fair weather daily driver. In 2017, my technician noticed a "developing" oil leak at the rear cylinder head, probably related to the gasket. He did not at that time, or now, recommend a head gasket replacement. He instead recommended monitoring it and we have done so for four years with no change or deterioration. I have checked the expansion tank (this morning) and there is not a trace of oil in the tank. The discoloration of the tank itself I put down to antifreeze with color used over the years causing the tank to look reddish. Will the head gasket need replacement at some point in the future. Probably. But again probably not for many more miles. (A fried of mine had the twin of Miss Blondie and replaced the gasket at 80k.) I hope this addressed the inquiries.

No remotes. Three keys. No remotes back then.. no exhaust leaks. Checked regularly No excess wear or damage to steering wheel. Both the rear bumper and grill imperfections fully disclosed in photos. We tried our best to take tons of photos for full disclosure. Thanks for the inquiries
Just a few more questions; -How many original Mercedes-Benz remotes do you have? -How is the exhaust system overall, in photo # 142 is that a blister in the exhaust pipe? -Is the top of the steering wheel damaged/worn? Would you be able to post another photo? I noticed a few chips here and there on; front bumper under panel, left of front license plate and rear bumper left & right side behind the tires. Is there any other damage to this vehicle besides the one mentioned and the ones in photo # 33 with a quarter panel and bumper and photo # 38 front grill? Thanks
top hydraulics work fine. Not needed service. A/C blows ice cold.
Have the any of the convertible top hydraulic been serviced in the past? Is the AC working well?
Very nice example here. Three sets of keys and floor mats, an extra set of factory wheels, and all service records since new. Definitely enthusiast owned
