This 1999 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG was sold new in Virginia on July 31, 2000 to the first owner who kept the car through January 2017 with consistent dealer service throughout. The third and current owner purchased the car in June of 2017 with 129k on the odometer and a complete folder of records assembled by the first and second owners. This C43 AMG now shows 161k documented miles, 32k of which have been added by the seller since purchasing. Finished in Obsidian Black Metallic (197) over a Silver and Black (588) Nappa Leather interior, power comes from an AMG-tuned 4.3-liter M113 V8 paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. In addition to regular service, maintenance, and inspections, this C43 touts a fully rebuilt 722.6 transmission from Blue Ridge MB in Georgia, a complete folder of service records back to new, and a full paint correction. This example is one of 546 units shipped for the North American market in 1999 and one of 1,125 total C43’s in the market. Features include Xenon headlamps, an electric tilt/slide sunroof, automatic climate control, a ski bag pass through between the rear seat and trunk, heated front seats, an original StarTAC mobile phone, and automatic climate control with REST functionality. This C43 AMG is offered by the current owner with the original window sticker, original owners manuals and books, manufacturer's marketing literature, two original keys, thorough maintenance records since new, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Obsidian Black Metallic (197) and features AMG-specific ground effects including sculpted bumpers, side skirts, and AMG twin exhaust. Additional exterior features include Xenon headlamps, a power sunroof, integrated antenna, and factory smoked tail lamps. The nose of the car displays light rock chips normal for the age of the car along with a small crack in the right front marker light and a driver’s rear view mirror that no longer self-tints. The body of the car reportedly shows original paint and is accented by a silver pinstripe down the beltline. The paint was ceramic coated in 2019.
Staggered 17” AMG Monoblock wheels are finished with silver-painted faces with machined lips. The wheels show no signs of curb rash on the lips or marring on the faces. All four wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back with 2018 date codes all around.
The cabin is trimmed in Silver and Black (588) Nappa Leather across the seats, door cards, head rests, shift knob, and steering wheel. All leather surfaces are reported to be original and nicely kept with some discoloration at the top of the steering wheel. The steering wheel retains original Black leather accented with perforated silver upper leather while the stock shift knob matches with a silver leather insert and “Sport” branding. Original C43 AMG embroidered floor mats remain in the cabin and can be seen in the gallery below with silver-accented stitching along the edges. The center console, door cards, cup holder, and upper dashboard are accented with Burl Walnut veneers showing no signs of fading or cracking. The cup holder is shown and noted as functional along with the Burl Wood cover. Features include heated multi-contour power front seats, automatic climate control, power adjustable mirrors, the stock Becker head unit, and power lowering rear headrests. The multi-contour seat bladders are noted to have stopped working.
The digital odometer shows 161k original miles, 32k of which have been added by the seller since purchasing in 2017. White AMG instrument dials include a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for engine temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts display the time and outside temperature with all pixels displaying in orange.
The 4.3-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque and drives the rear wheels through a rebuilt and reinforced five-speed automatic transmission. The seller has kept all records since new which can be viewed in the gallery below. The reinforced transmission was built in 2019 with 144k on the odometer by Blue Ridge MB in Georgia. The donor transmission came from a W211 E55 AMG showing 62k miles and was rebuilt with upgraded parts. The first transmission service occurred on schedule in 2020 at 150k miles. Records for this service can be seen below. The owner notes the hood liner is starting to fall and can be seen in the gallery.
The attached Carfax lists no accidents or damage and shows consistent dealer service with all three owners along with 37 history records. This C43 AMG is now offered with the original window sticker, original owners manuals and books, manufacturer's marketing literature, two original keys, thorough maintenance records since new, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
First and foremost, the W202 C43 AMG was destined to be a drivers car amongst its larger stablemates from Affalterbach. Recent trends in values have kept many of the remaining C43's in garages and off the roads as owners speculate future values along side cars like the C36 AMG, ML55 AMG, and legendary W210 E55 AMG. This car is the perfect example to keep in mind when we say low mileage isn't everything. These cars should be approached using records, condition, history, and enthusiasm as the benchmarks for buyers. Moreover, the M113 V8 is just getting warmed up at this age and mileage, especially with such astute maintenance history and records. We expect to see cars like this stand the test of time as naturally aspirated V8's are phased out of the market. In short, this is a true enthusiasts car owned by a true enthusiast.

@keenan_eugenio congratulations! Glad to see it’s staying here in Atlanta. Talk soon!
@Stuttgart_Steel Well done on a really great car! I'm a bit jealous myself haha
Well that was my first auction car I've ever won. That was terrifying. And exciting?

Thanks for the kind words and comments regarding the C43. I look forward to watching the final hour and hope it goes to a wonderful home and to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have. Best!

If the transmission comes from a 2003-06 E55. Do you know how the “park lock interlock” was modified? Can you shift from park to neutral without your foot on the brake? Nothing against the car, I’m trying to figure out the best way to put a later 722.636 into my ‘99 C43 too.

@DavisB thanks for response. I was also able to see the second video on YouTube. Car looks great. Let’s see how it goes. Maybe I will be flying to Atlanta soon. 😊

Worked at an MB dealership in college and loved when the GM said go gas up the C43. The pull and sound with the windows open was great at the age of 19. Wish I had room to bid on this fantastic example.
@keenan_eugenio Thanks for reaching out, and yes that was probably me you saw at Caffeine and Octane. I enjoyed showing the car there over the years and meeting up with various AMG groups. RBM of Atlanta was always kind enough to let me participate and park with them too. Best of luck. It’s a fantastic at and whoever wins it will certain enjoy it.
@DavisB I'm an Atlanta native and have actually seen your car in passing a few times and I want to say I've seen it at the Mercedes tent at C&O a few years ago unless there's an identical one rolling around. I've always wanted one of these and remember trying to find one back in 2012 when they were about $7k. It's been in my Top 10 obtainable dream car list for ages now. Hopefully we'll be getting together later this week to finish the transaction. I'll be here at 5:00 battling with these friendly LA people. Good luck to everyone!
@lakers91325 The gas gauge works perfectly fine. I was trying to make a quick driving video and knew the car needed gas. I’ll fill the car up for whoever wins the auction. Also, I’ll try to send the team a video and have it uploaded in time. The engine is strong and runs amazing (never any leaks). I’m still amazed every time I crank this car and go for a drive. The performance is great and the engine pulls so hard. The driving experience is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Thanks for the videos. I couldn’t get the second walk around video to play but the other two were fine. The engine sound on the video has me a bit concerned as this engine (which I have on my 2000 e430) shouldn’t sound so loud. I know the engine sound installation pad has torn off on one side. Is it like that on the other side as well? Could you also post a video of the engine running with the hood open, so I can get a better idea of the sound? Lastly, I noticed that you were driving with the fuel gauge on empty. Does the gauge work properly? Thanks.

Photos showing the trunk, keys, books, and an emissions test from 2021 have been uploaded in addition to multiple videos added to the listing.
@lakers91325 fellow LA native here, hopefully one of us get the car and bring it back to LA.
@DavisB any chance you have a copy of the emission test results from 2021? TY
I will have the running videos and power functionality videos posted asap.
@lakers91325 I have driven it on a 700 mile round trip to Florida and back and it was great. It has also been through the North Carolina mountains with me numerous times. It’s solid and I believe in this car big time!
Have you done any long distance driving in this? Would this make a drive to Los Angeles without any issues?
I too would love to see some videos of the engine running, driving, and electrical functions please.
$7,000 bid placed by @Sjalexander24
To whomever who wins this: I have a new (old stock) engine cover that would be the cherry on top for this thing. That's the only thing this car needs. :) Very clean car! GLWS!
@sjalexander24 The car is rust free and no suspension issues. I will add a couple of videos of the car running asap.
Do you have any videos of the car running? Also any rust on the car or suspension issues?

Thank you for the kind words @Harrdware and @AR80sCedes.
The only C-Class I’ve ever truly loved. This looks to be in top notch shape too, mileage be damned- this is clean
Amazing condition for the mileage. Someone cherished this vehicle over the years, apparently.
Thank you, @crofty. @ArseniRus this was condition of the window sticker when I received it. I have kept it in the C-Class brochure ever since. Best!
@ArseniRus They do - but it looks like the original owner unfortunately either folded or trimmed the top/bottom of the original window sticker (probably) to fit into an 8x10 or 8.5x11 sleeve...which cropped off the dealer name and the VIN, etc.
I thought window sticker should have the Vin number or the car?
Now this is properly clean! Highly impressive with the condition, maintenance, mileage, and records.
