Crofty bid $14,694

@sasdweBecause the last owner put it there. Looks like it was added by the seller's late father bc it's not in the photos from the previous sale listing. This example does have the (951) Sport Package but obviously those did not come with any AMG badging from the factory. Its a faux pas, for sure, but certainly not uncommon.
@ManskraftThere's actually no ADBLUE tank on the E class because its a different system. Only the GL, M & R class have that.. For the sake of clarity: "BlueTec is Daimler AG's name for its two nitrogen oxide (NOx) reducing systems, for use in their Diesel automobile engines. ONE is a urea-based reductant called AdBlue, the OTHER is called DeNOx and uses an oxidizing catalytic converter and particulate filter combined with other NOx reducing systems. Both systems are designed to reduce pollutant emissions. The E-Class has the "OTHER" DeNOx system. So No AdBlue required...hence no tank :) Hope that helps!
@BenzAddictIts definitely not a CDI. Totally different engine and transmission. Its true the build sheet says "CDI" but the build sheet also lists the BlueTEC engine and 7-spd transmission for this example. Most likely this was a late 2006 order for a CDI by a customer, but as CDIs were no longer being built in late 2006, the CDI order became a BlueTEC delivery at the factory level.
@ekosmatosProbably a little late for that...auction ends in 30mins haha.
I dont think I've ever seen one of these where the gloss black trim still looks new and fresh like that...all of them are faded and have long since turned purple. That little detail alone is worth the price of admission on this one! GL!
Whoa - this is practically engine break-in period mileage for an OM602... and its a wagon.... and its a manual... and its European Spec... and it has Recaro sport seats... and its 199! Tremendously cool example, gents. GLWA!
@Oldsctls67All you have to do is remount them with the blackwall side out. No new tires needed. To each their own, I suppose. I think they look pretty good on this particular example but prefer the blackwall side out.
Love this color on a W211. You rarely see it. GLWA
@iceman302 Great answer haha 👍
@Dallas2284haha. Which half of the car do you want? The front or back? 😂. That would be nice, of course, but...🤷♂️
These photos are REALLY nice...what a great looking example! Good luck to the seller - Im sure this will do very well.
Seller - does the car have any corrosion or salt wear from the Maine climate? Or was it not driven in winter weather? Any other imperfections to be aware of that aren't already mentioned in the listing? Thanks!
Those wheels...those foglights....and its GREEN! Very nice 🤩🤩🤩
@ArseniRusThey do - but it looks like the original owner unfortunately either folded or trimmed the top/bottom of the original window sticker (probably) to fit into an 8x10 or 8.5x11 sleeve...which cropped off the dealer name and the VIN, etc.
@APSloan1It definitely is a keyless car. The listing says its equipped with "Keyless-GO" (which is Mercedes' push button start feature of the era) and you can see the push button start on the shift lever in the photos. Whats cool about these w211's is you can use the key if you want, or use the push button to start. I honestly prefer using the traditional key myself, so its nice to have the option.
That was exciting! haha. Nicely done @TomasM ! Congrats to buyer and seller.
@mmalinaaThe condition appears excellent on this car...even the cloth (which wears fast) and the bolsters look amazing. To imply this car might have 2x-3x the miles simply goes against logic and the evidence in the photos. These older MBs have odometers that break all the time. It may have a few more but the condition tells the tale here. Excellent presentation, seller. Good Luck!
I've never been a fan of chrome wheels on the R170 SLKs but they look nice here on a black car w/red calipers. I had a sliver SLK320 years ago and really enjoyed it. They're a blast to drive and super easy to maintain. GLWA
Oh wow... I didnt realize this car had the cloth interior too! Im daydreaming about having this car and the matching 190E cosworth in the garage together. I could probably pull it off if I got rid of my wife's car (and also my wife) haha. Such a sexy car. GLWA!
As much as I usually love Gullideckels, I have to say this car looks really sharp on the 124 wheels. And the cloth interior really sets off the Recaro sport seats nicely. Great car and great presentation. Good luck!
