This 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL500 was sold new in Colorado with subsequent registrations noted in Utah, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts. It was acquired by the current owner in 2024 who has added approximately 1000 miles. It was delivered new at the factory under the European Delivery Program and, as indicated on the original window sticker, spent 15 days on the Black Forest/Alps drive following delivery. Finished in Dark Turquoise (297) over Java Nappa Leather (234), power is provided by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The car features the desirable SL2 package which includes xenon headlights, heated front seats, and an integrated trunk-mounted BOSE 6-disc CD changer. Additional equipment includes a matching removable panoramic glass hardtop, a power soft top, remote central locking, automatic climate control and a roll bar with a removable wind deflector. The included Carfax report shows some service history records from previous ownership. Under the current owner’s care this SL received an oil service and inspection in 2025. Now with only 26k miles, this SL500 is offered for sale with original manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a hardtop stand, wind deflector, a fitted car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Massachusetts title.
The exterior is finished in Dark Turquoise (297) with a paint-matched removable glass panoramic hardtop. A beige automatic soft top can also be raised and lowered with the push of a button. Exterior equipment includes Xenon headlamps, front fog lights, heated power door mirrors and remote central locking. The Carfax reports no accidents or damage from new and all paint is believed to be original. Under the seller’s care, this SL has received a paint correction and ceramic coating.
The 17” 5-slot Albali wheels are wrapped in a set of Continental tires which measure 245/45 on all four corners. A spare tire is mounted in the trunk along with the factory tool kit and jack.
The cabin is trimmed in Java Nappa Leather (234) with Burl Walnut wood trim accenting the center console and door panels. Both front seats are heated with 10-way power adjustability and three-position memory. Interior amenities include a power tilt/telescope steering column, automatic climate control, cruise control, a pop-up roll bar, a trunk-mounted 6-Disc CD changer and a BOSE audio system. A removable wind deflector which mounts to the roll bar will accompany the car and can be stored in a dedicated trunk compartment.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The digital odometer currently reads approximately 26k miles from new.
This R129 is powered by a 5.0-liter M113 V8 which is rated for 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed 722.6 automatic transmission. The included Carfax report shows some service history records from previous ownership. Under the current owner’s care this SL received an oil service and inspection in 2025.
The included Carfax report shows TMU in 2024 as a result of the titling state noting odometer status as “exempt” due to the age of the car. This SL500 is offered for sale with original manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a hardtop stand, wind deflector, a fitted car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Massachusetts title.

@JohnSW This is why we do it!
I have this exact car in Firemist (20,000 more miles) but the condition and elegance are interchangeable. I think I'll flirt with the notion they could hang out together in the garage. Thanks to MB Market for making it possible.
This is beautiful with the beige top. I know the Calypso car MBM sold a few weeks ago was striking but this is downright pretty.
