This 2001 Mercedes-Benz CLK430 has 57k miles on the odometer and shows registration history in Massachusetts. Finished in Black Opal Metallic (189) over Anthracite Leather (211), power is provided by a 4.3-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include 18″ five-spoke wheels, a sunroof, xenon headlights, fog lights, heated multicontour front seats, an electric rear sunshade, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, COMAND infotainment with navigation, and a Bose sound system. Recent service in May 2024 includes an A/C service and oil change. This CLK430 is now offered in New York by the selling dealer at No Reserve with the owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
The car is finished in Black Opal Metallic (189) and features the AMG Sport Package which includes an AMG body kit, complete with the front bumper, side skirts, and rear apron. Additional features include a sunroof, a monoblade windshield wiper, xenon headlights, headlight washers, fog lights, factory blue-tinted glass, tinted taillights, and heated side mirrors. The 18″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with Hankook Ventus S1 Noble 2 and Nankang tires. Curb rash is visible on the outer edges of the wheels. Braking is handled by discs at each corner, and the brake rotors were resurfaced along with the brake lines replaced in June 2023.
The cabin features heated power-adjustable multicontour front seats trimmed in Anthracite Leather (211). Black birdseye maple wood veneers accent the center console and door panels. Amenities include front seat position memory, a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, an electric rear sunshade, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, COMAND infotainment with navigation, and a Bose sound system.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline. Additional gauges show coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 57k miles and all pixels are in working order.
The 4.3-liter SOHC V8 was factory rated at 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. The most recent service in May 2024 included an oil change and the air conditioning service.

The level of conversation about the missing badges on a no reserve auction that's hovering under $2k is pretty funny. It's nice to see the AC system was serviced recently, does it function flawlessly? Did these have issues with failing stepper motors like some of the other models of this era? Are there any leaks whatsoever? Do all of the electronics function flawlessly (especially sunroof and rear sunshade)? About the wheels, the build sheet shows staggered AMG wheels, others have said these look to be sourced from a W211. Can you comment on how close of match these are in terms of the offset, width, staggering, etc? Could you also just throw out an estimate of what you would charge to get some proper wheels put back on? That's a lot of questions, so thanks in advance for your time! @SelectAutoNYC

@soldbydon What’s the old saying…? It’s not your father Oldsmobile Well we aren’t your typical dealer We buy and sell vintage and collectible European sports cars This car is in mechanically great shape, I just took it for a 120 mile round trip and it didn’t miss a beat! You can add the badges if you like but I do like the stealth sleeper look without the 430 badging. This car is a German hotrod and will blow the doors off unsuspecting passersby

Googled the VIN and the car allegedly sold on another popular auction site for $4677 last month. Apparently the buyer never followed through with the sale. Similar comments to those found here. IMHO seller should have considered those comments seriously and taken action to correct the issues before listing the car for sale again.
If a seller hasn't chosen to spend the $20 needed for the genuine CLK 430 trunk badge, that says a lot. Buyers typically want to see receipts for work performed, a driving video, and undercarriage pix. The goal of a seller is to reduce risks and doubts for potential buyers by being candid about the condition and previous care of a vehicle, and to take care of minor issues such as replacing a missing badge and buffing out the car to remove superficial paint defects. I have owned a few CLK's and still own 2 of them, along with a handful of SL's and other M-B's back to 1958 and have bought and sold M-B's on this site; so much better than buying off a used car lot where sellers are reluctant to disclose true condition of a vehicle. Here on this site we expect more.
@Billcourcy @ProdigalPetrolHead @KsMerc @soldbydon Hello all and thanks for viewing this CLK 430 auction We recently changed the spark plugs, did an oil and filter change, did a paint correction and gave this car some TLC Its got relatively low mileage for its age and you can tell by the light wear in the interior that the mileage is original to the car This car drives awesome and would make someone a great little hotrod. PS, the wheels are easily sourced back to the Original OEM versions. Just let me know if its something you want and we can figure out the details and make it happen post auction
@ProdigalPetrolHead Thanks the seller should respond
@ProdigalPetrolHead Thanks the car is weird somehow no amg wheels paint no. 60 service l like the color
$750 bid placed by @Ramrattan
@biillcourcy these were never offered with 4Matic...Rare color for sure here. Wouldn't take much to bring it back to a very clean example but it's cool to see the options and colors.

No books and records? Snow country car is it all wheel drive? 4 matic? Are the badges lost.
@soldbydon miles are way too low to have those issues
Low mileage but has not had the care of others; lots of paint scrapes and nicks; sun damage to birds eye maple wood and steering wheel buttons, drivers seat shows more wear than might be expected for mileage. Non-original economy replacement wheels (originals were AMG-badged and staggered). Door interiors show wear. Why is the CLK430 deck lid badge missing? No undercarriage pix? IMHO not quite nice enough to bring good money.
