The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer along with a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, economy, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The odometer indicates an original 69k miles.
This S550 is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine which was rated for 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. The W221 S-Class has settled into a particularly appealing place in the modern Mercedes-Benz market; new enough to feel genuinely luxurious, but old enough to remind us of the traditional MB flagship formula. This 2011 S550, finished in black over Java leather, has the kind of formal and understated presence that suits the long, confident shape of the W221 especially well. The spec helps separate it from an ordinary S-Class. The Sport Plus One and Premium 2 packages give the car a sharper appearance and a more complete luxury experience, while the naturally aspirated V8 delivers the smooth, effortless power that made these late W221 cars so satisfying to drive. Showing 68k miles, this S550 lands in a nice middle ground. Preserved enough to feel special, but usable enough to enjoy as Mercedes intended. For buyers looking for a handsome modern flagship with strong colors, desirable equipment, and traditional V8 S-Class character, this example checks a lot of the right boxes.

Hey Everyone! Thanks for checking out our 2011 S550, with the final year of the M273 and some cool options including the Sport plus One package! We have a lot of videos and pictures posted but feel free to ask for more on any part of it, and send a message if you would like shipping quotes! Happy Bidding!@gscharnagl I used to own a very similar car to this...Actually listed it here back in 2021. You'd be surprised Black over Java wasn't terribly common then. I just did a quick search online and about 5 out of 100+ facelift 221's listed are this combo. None of which show the Plus One pack, etc. Perhaps "rare spec" is the focus. Either way, this combo is harder to replicate. @alexwahl6 beautiful spec!love these cars, and i miss the 3 w221s that i've had! forgive my ignorance, but what makes basic black (040) and tan (214) a "rare color combination"?
