The cabin features seating upholstered in Ash MB-Tex (108) with two-tone doors and a black dash centered around a leather-wrapped 6-speed gear shift. Aluminum sport trim accents the center console and door panels. Amenities include power-adjustable and heated seats with position memory, Airscarf, factory Bluetooth, ambient lighting, cruise control, air conditioning, silver roll hoops, a wind deflector, and a Harman Kardon sound system.

A three-spoke multifunction steering wheel is wrapped in leather and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a color onboard computer screen, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 46k miles.

The turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four was rated at 201 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The car was recently inspected and serviced and passed Pennsylvania state inspection.

If you’re wanting a newer Mercedes-Benz and want the joy of rowing through gears manually, the SLK is your only choice; And a good one at that. The choices are limited when it comes to sporty luxury roadsters in general and the SLK really stands out when equipped with the AMG Sport Package and 6-speed manual transmission such as this. For those who haven’t experienced the 250’s 1.8L turbocharged engine, it’s actually a very peppy engine that can scoot to 60 mph in roughly 6 seconds which is less than a second behind the larger 350 engines. For those who haven’t experienced the Airscarf feature, it thoroughly makes every cool evening top down drive that much more enjoyable, as if having the top down and throwing the car into a tight corner as you downshift wasn’t therapeutic enough. There’s a lot to love about this R172, from the options and AMG styling to the engaging 6-speed transmission. With limited production figures and even fewer manuals, opportunities are few and far between so don’t miss out.
