This Bronze Sculpture of a Mercedes W196R Silver Arrow was produced by Maitland Smith and was previously displayed at The ZImmerman Driving Museum in El Segundo, CA. It’s cast in solid brass and measures 10”x4”. Affixed to the base is an information plaque and a celebratory book of the W196R is included in the sale.
The book, Two Summers by Robert Ackerson, outlines the history of the W196 and its racing heritage. The Walnut base shows holes drilled into the back for mounting purposes as needed. Including the base and plexiglass cover the display measures 15”x6”. This sculpture and book are offered together by the seller in California. The buyer is responsible for shipping at their expense.

I would like to thank all the lookers and bidders who appreciate this great piece of Mercedes history. The W196 'Silver Arrow' put Mercedes on top of the automotive world. The Silver Arrow became a famous model designation for many Merceds to come. This is a sculpture that will become the center piece of any room it's in. As stated before I am happy to assist the buyer and it will be well wrapped and shipped insured by UPS.

I am new to this site and not quite sure how the questions work, I had a question to my email as to the size of the base. The base is 15x7 Walnut and the case is 6" high. The actual piece is 11x4 and is cast in bronze. As an added note if the buyer preferes stainless bolts on the case rather than black I can change them.
