These 16” triple chrome plated steel Mercedes-Benz wheels measure 7″ in width all around and were purchased new from Mercedes-Benz for intended use on a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300d Adenauer project car. The wheels are finished in chrome and show part number 203 400 03 02. These wheels were sold new as a W203 C-Class spare wheel, but were modified for the Adenauer with modified centers to accept Mercedes-Benz center hub covers and are currently mounted with Michelin Defender white wall tires. The wheels were professionally triple chrome plated in 2017. These chrome plated Mercedes-Benz wheels are now offered by the seller in Harvard, Massachusetts with worldwide shipping available on behalf of the buyer and local pickup is also welcome.
These modified W203 spare wheels have been professionally refinished and triple chrome plated and feature a chrome face with a silver painted inside. The wheels were designed to fit the seller’s 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300d Adenauer and feature a modified face to support the classic Mercedes-Benz center hub covers, specifically part number 186 401 00 25. Up close photos of each face are provided in the gallery and the part number 203 400 03 02 is visible on each wheel. The chrome plating job was done in 2017 when the seller bought the wheels new from the dealership.
Each wheel measures 7" wide with an offset of +37. Close up photos of the back of each wheel are viewable in the gallery. All four wheels feature a 5x112mm bolt pattern. 235/65 R16 Michelin Defender T+H tires are mounted on each wheel and feature a white wall face. The seller states the tires were purchased in 2017 with date codes showing the age of 10 years old and are suitable as rollers for the time being until new tires are installed. Michelin states their tires are safe to drive on up to 10 years of age.
There are no major blemishes and each wheel is straight and true. The chrome plating also shows no degradation and the wheels were stored inside for the past 10 years. These chrome plated Mercedes-Benz wheels are now offered by the seller in Harvard, Massachusetts with worldwide shipping available on behalf of the buyer and local pickup is also welcome.
For those wanting an OEM+ look for their Adenauer and a wheel that fits good tire brands such as Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, Firestone, and other top of the line tires with quality compounds, then you should really consider these wheels. One of the downsides of owning classic cars is the lack of supported tire options on the smaller wheel sizes. An Adenauer shouldn’t be running a Kumho or a Toyo – you want a Michelin or Continental. With these wheels still being a Mercedes-Benz made wheel, you are assured a quality, safe wheel under the four corners of your car. The triple plated chrome finish is an expensive process to do nowadays and only a few shops are left that can do quality work. The seller has also modified the faces so that it fits the classic style center hub covers for that OEM look. Only eagle eyed Mercedes nerds will notice that this wheel is a retrofit and one that makes a ton of sense the more you think about it.
