I'm 99% sure that isn't a 722.9 transmission....
Hey quick last minute question: Were any adapters needed to mount the Fuchs and what brand are the wheels? OEM Porsche? Thanks!
@gsxrinteresting thanks. I did notice this was an early car (10/17/91 build date).
Wow I just noticed the instrument cluster is dead wrong for this car. There should be an ASR warning triangle lamp in the speedo (I think) and there's no check engine lamp in the bottom right corner. Did it come out of a 300D?? Lol
Hi seller! A few questions: Does the SLS function correctly? How well does the engine run (misfire, hesitation, etc)? The listing states "thorough previous servicing", what records do you have? And lastly, could you shed some more light on the mileage discrepancy? Thanks! -Chris
Seller: The listing states the A/C was recharged. Was it low on refrigerant? And is there any record of the evaporator being replaced? In the photos, the cupholder lid appears to be broken (or not closed) and the rear of the headliner may be loose. Can you confirm either of these? Thanks.
@albanianbenz thanks for your response, keep us posted. Quick question: the auction listing doesn't appear to mention where the vehicle is located, is it currently in MA?
@Seller, has anyone checked the integrity of the brake lines? Pic #156 shows a pretty severely rusted line going to the R/R caliper hose. This is very pretty E55 btw, love the colors. Kind of a shame its so crusty underneath but that's just how it is in the NE.
Just checked the VMI also shows 93,561 miles at MB of Alpharetta, GA on 5/23/14. Only 931 miles put on in almost 7 years? Unless there's a mileage discrepancy on the VMI *and* Carfax? I'm interested to hear the story on that. Also what what are the date codes on those Michelins? They're looking a bit old and dry...
Lots of neat touches on this special 210. Obviously the heated rear seats and pass-through for skis are incredible to see in this country but other subtle easter-eggs such as the front fender sidemarkers indicate this car is something special. Also interesting to note, the FIN indicates this is an E420 (210.072). Possibly the body started life as a regular E420 before heading to AMG? My knowledge of early-AMGs is limited and I'm curious about the relationship between MB and AMG in the mid-90's. All of these special features should make any AMG fan very pleased. GLWTA!
