@Rparayno Correct, all other gauges are in working order.
@kingkitty @heshe @ariotofmyown Thank you for your interest on our 450SEL. We have been in the classic car business since 1987 with over 10,000 cars sold to date. MBMarket has an extensive questionnaire when listing a car on their site. When we listed the car the ONLY things wrong that we were aware of was the A/C and the horn not working. As mentioned, below we had our mechanic charge the A/C system yesterday to address the problem and was able to get it working without further complications. We are not aware of any other needs for the car, but also understand that it is a 43 year old car. We have numerous photos of the car and a video both running and driving. We always welcome a personal inspection or third party if you so choose, but have been selling cars online since 1999 with a great track record of describing cars as they are with a fair description and plenty of photos for review. The rattle that you are hearing is the camera mount, not the suspension. Sorry, for any confusion on that. We do take offense to Kingkitty's comments, but that is the world we live in today. Key board warriors hiding anonymously spewing comments, but never a bid. IF one would look at his other comments on the site he tends to be combative, with numerous question but NEVER a bid that we have seen. That said, he has not asked to have the car inspected by a third party or personally. And so it goes....... We have priced the car fairly and hope it finds a new home today.. Happy Motoring, Team MotoeXotica
We had our mechanic give the system a charge and it is blowing nice and cold now!! A photo with a temperature reading should have be added by MB Market.
Thank you all for your bids and interest, however we simply have more invested in this restored 560SEC than was bid....... Team MotoeXotica
@Ilovebigtoys sorry I missed your SRS question, we do NOT have an estimate for this repair.
@Ilovebigtoys Thank you for your interest and sorry for the delay, we were out of town for the weekend and did not have the entry passcode, our bad. NO part of the car is AMG other than badging by the previous owner. I am sure the suspension has been redone at some time under the previous owner given the miles. While there are no leaks that we have found, we do see that it sits a hair lower in the back. It is not noticeable when driving the car as it does not bottom.. @sinansaul Yes, there is a reserve on the car and at this point we are a way from it.... Again, the prior owner maintained this car for many years and we have a complete file folder full or receipts that goes with the car Regards to all, Team MotoeXotica
@refusednameCongratulations on your winning bid for this one of a kind All-Star CL600! Will will be reaching out soon for the next steps.
@Ck006 Thank you for asking, the stereo is still in good working order. Dvd. CD and radio are working
@ProdigalPetrolHead Thank you for your bid and interest. It is certainly a one of a kind car fit for a hall of famer!
@Eagle11 Thank you for asking. The gaps and fitment on the car are very good. I think what you may be seeing is the low sunlight angle casting shadows into the gaps? Very nice low mileage car. Please let us know if you have any additional questions? Regards, Team MotoeXotica
I received a question that I thought I would answer all to see: "Everything works as it should? Starts without issues? No leaks? No smoke or exhaust issues? Thank-you" The car runs really well and actually has some pretty good pep... I have another 1951 170 V Sedan and with the exact same engine and this one definitely has more notable power than the other. I also know the previous owner rebuilt the engine sometime in his ownership because I have found a lot of parts catalogs with hand written engine rebuild notes and electric wiring diagrams from him. He actually rebuilt the original diesel engine in 1991 and then sometime later he rebuilt 1951 petrol engine and placed it in the car. I actually believe that he had no idea that the car was a Police Car and maybe thought the diesel engine was incorrect as this is one of the only times Mercedes put a diesel from the factory in a sedan roadster body. The car drives well and brakes good. The electric wipers work but they are little slow but the fuel gauge, oil pressure, temp, amp gauges work as with the speedometer and odometer.
Reserve is off! This 560 SEC is for sale! Thanks!
Finished looking at the AC today. It was previously converted to 134a and it was pretty low with freon so we added a few pounds and it is now blowing cold. I will monitor it for the next few days to see if it has a leak.
The window tint can be removed as well if chosen so.
Hello Gene I did dry ice the suspension, brake components and the bottom of the engine. The rest of the underbelly was pretty clean already. I agree, with a very original/low mileage MB such as this one, I like to provide options for the buyer as some buyers want everything untouched and original and some want to have some some minor cosmetic repairs to keep the car close to perfection. There're some minor scratches at the very bottom of the front bumper that you can see in the undercarriage photos. I can and recommend some professional touch ups but in my opinion I would not repaint the front bumper as its pretty hard to see any scratches from normal eye level. As for the headliner, yes but it will not be exactly the same material AMG uses but we have found something pretty close. The material AMG is unique and pretty impossible to fine. My headliner guy just recently did my W210 E55 and it looks fantastic and still appears pretty close to the original.
I fined toothed combed the paint on a couple occasions. I know for sure the entire rear, top, all 4 doors, front bumper, rockers, hood, driver side fender are original paint. Im slightly suspect of the passenger side front fender as it appears that the inner top bolts show signs of being unscrewed but the paint looks uniform to everything else. Also the passenger fender matches the consistency of the other fender with the paint meter with an average of 4 to 6 mils. Also wanted to update that the car right now shows 20,102 miles after I put some miles on after I performed the 30k service. The car runs very hard and tight.
