We’ve interacted with a number of vintage SLs that were missing their entire soft top assemblies when previous owners removed them for whatever reasons they had. Sometimes they get bent or rust – sometimes the car sees an accident and they break. Sometimes owners remove them and just fix the hardtop to the chassis and drive it around as a coupe. While this works for a particular owner’s use case, it makes it difficult when the car sells to someone who wants to use the ragtop. We’re really happy to see this entire assembly on the site as we know this will help someone out there who has a car that is missing one or it will go to a shop or individual who restores W113s. It’s super uncommon to find a new old stock assembly in its entirety. This is a beautiful piece to look at and the seller shows it operating in the gallery without fault.
