The exterior is finished in Milano Beige (681) and features chrome trim along the beltline, bumpers and windows. The car has previously been resprayed and received bodywork in order to repair rust. Exterior equipment includes a power operated sunroof, an automatic antenna, amber fog lights at the front, and a heated rear window. The seller notes that rust is visible at the bottom of the doors.
The 14” wheels come fitted with paint-matched hubcaps and wear Douglas all-season tires measuring 195/70 on all four corners. The tires show 2021 date codes and were fitted by the current owner six months ago. A full-size spare can be found mounted in the trunk.
The cabin is upholstered in Palomino Leather (234) and features Zebrano wood trim lining the center console and dashboard. The front seats are manually adjustable and fold forward to allow access to the second row. Interior equipment includes power windows, a center folding armrest and automatic climate control. The seller notes that the AC is not functional and in need of a recharge and that the door lock actuators do not work. Modifications to the interior include a fitted dash cover and an aftermarket Sony head unit.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts VDO instrumentation including an 85-mph speedometer along with an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer currently reads 188k miles and noted as true mileage unknown.
This C123 is powered by an OM617 3.0-liter five-cylinder diesel engine which outputs 123 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The original engine was previously replaced in 2018 with a lower mileage unit from an ‘81 300D which had 112k miles at the time of replacement. Recent maintenance in July 2022 included the installation of a new battery, new tires, new fog lights and new exhaust hangers. The seller has included the original Becker radio along with two new weatherstrip seals which have been photographed and included in the photo gallery below.
Additional maintenance items performed by the current owner includes cleaning and lubricating the window switches, a new hood pad, repainted hubcaps, a new driveshaft guibo, rebuilt instrument cluster gears and a transmission vacuum adjustment. The transmission vacuum system may need further adjustment. This 300CD is now offered for sale by the current owner in Alexandria, Virginia with a full-size spare tire, eight years of service records and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
Walkaround and driving videos are viewable below.
The OM617 plays an important role in the mythos of diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and can be found running in all corners of the globe to this day. Debuting in 1974, this engine was kept in production for 17 years and would power a host of cars ranging from wagons to limousines. In the 300CD, it produced a healthy 123 horsepower and a strong 184 lb-ft of torque providing an adequate level of acceleration, especially when compared with other diesels of its period. Featuring classic Mercedes-Benz coupe styling with an open greenhouse, this 300CD makes classic car ownership easy and accessible. With eight years of service records and recent maintenance, this example is sure to please for many miles to come.

Drives like a gem and well maintained. I have driven this car myself in Transporting in from Aldie VA to Arlington VA, about an hour drive through rush hour, so definitely ran it through it's paces. Brakes were solid.
Cue the Jaws theme song. it’s heating up
@Loligjurra1 sounds like @KOFG needs it lol
I appreciate it $10k is a good conservative estimate. I have seen some on other sites hit teens. I think whoever wins this one will get a really solid driver with many happy miles to come.
