Features include a painted mechanical sliding sunroof, automatic climate control, an original Becker Grand Prix head unit, power windows, locks, antenna, and cruise control. This example shows registration history in Florida and Georgia and has been in the current owner’s care since 2011. Service records show ample maintenance in 2011 upon the owners acquisition but little record has been kept since. The car is finished in Astral Silver Metallic (735) and features chrome-accented domestic-spec bumpers and trim, glass headlamps, a painted mechanical sliding sunroof, and an electrically adjustable radio antenna. The trim, bumpers, and door handles are reportedly original to the car along with brightwork shown in the photos. The body shows various cosmetic issues including surface rust around the door sills and door undersides, a dent in the driver side fender, and various chips and scratches.
Factory Bundt 14″ alloy wheels wear BF Goodrich tires measuring 195/70 on all four corners and showing 2011 date codes. The wheels appear free from any major blemishes but appear discolored. Braking is handled by rotors on all four corners.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Blue MB-Tex (132) with matching door panels, carpets, head liner, and lower dashboard. Matching floor mats are installed for the front and rear footwells and pictured in the gallery. The steering wheel and upper dashboard are trimmed in Black along with the shift knob and center console trim. Zebrano wood trim accents the dashboard and center console and shows some fading and cracking. The original blue dash shows numerous cracks and the glove box cover is shown to sag. Equipment includes automatic climate control, power windows, and an original Becker head unit which is noted to be inoperable.
Instrumentation includes a 125-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock. Additional auxiliary gauges include coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level which all function properly. The six-digit odometer shows 109k miles.
The 3.0-liter OM617 turbo-diesel inline-five features a single Garrett turbocharger and Bosch fuel injection from the factory. Power was factory rated at 123 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and is sent to the rear wheels via a 722.3 four-speed automatic transmission. Underbody photos are viewable in the gallery.
The included Carfax report shows registration history in Florida and Georgia, no accidents or damage, and linear mileage updates. This S123 shows 109k miles and is offered at No Reserve in Kennesaw, Georgia with factory literature, one key, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.

Thanks for the bids everyone and the good questions! @RENNtech6 seems super excited to get into his first classic Mercedes and I'm excited for him to get into one of the best chassis Mercedes-Benz has built. I'm super passionate about these cars that are not the cleanest examples but deserve love and restoration which is why I made this secondary account to find these things and get them out to enthusiasts. Thanks for watching the auction!
Congrats

As far as the miles reflecting the milage, based off of how supportive the seats are it honestly could be accurate. The car did a lot of sitting resulting in some fuzzy aluminum in the engine bay and the cracked dash is indicative of it seeing sun. It's hard to tell with this car.

@clonski Odometer functions as per the video. The owner told me it has always functioned during his 12 years of ownership. We unfortunately don't know the accuracy previous to that. I don't remember seeing any rust on the hinges or I would have photographed it. Sorry for the late responses, I got tied up at work for an emergency.

@2nd_Chance_Steel Thanks for those clarifications on my prior questions. Just want to clarify if thr odometer is functioning/reflecting correct mileage? Also, can you tell if there is any rust in the hood hinge recesses? I did not see them in any photos. This tends to be a weak point in the W123.
@clonski Thanks for the questions! 1: The SLS does have fluid and I spotted no leaks in the system. The accumulators have a rubber diaphragm in them that degrade and burst over time resulting in a harsh ride over bumps in the rear. Those accumulators have failed. Super easy job to tackle for the home mechanic and parts are available. Part No. 1233200215. About $95 each (need two) from FCP Euro plus SLS fluid. 2: A/C does not blow cold. Will probably need a flush and a recharge with PAG 150 oil and R134a refrigerant. 3: Floor pans are good. I see what you’re talking about in the photos. I think that was surface damage from a floor jack in the undercoating when I zoom in on the picture. I was relieved to find no chassis rust on the car when I had my head under there with a flashlight. I’ll see if I can get better existing pictures up of the door sills. Let me know if you have anything else troubling you!
@2nd_Chance_Steel I have a few questions before placing a bid. Is the self leveling suspension operating? Is the air conditioning system operating? Would you be able to get closer photos of the lower door sills. Photo 177 seems to sow a hole or rust spot in the floor pan - can you confirm?

I have the walk-around and driving video uploaded for your viewing please along with service records.
I just sent you a private message I live over in Roswell and would like to come take a look at the vehicle tomorrow.
@Motor275 Mixed is about 24 MPG with a 19 gallon fuel tank. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 - 450 miles on a tank.
What is the mpg and range ?
@2nd_Chance_Steel thanks
@Thefrenchman I'll have MBM upload my rather long winded driving video of the car tonight or tomorrow where I cover everything in a first drive impression. I've owned several concours condition 123s in the past, so I'm able to use my experience to tell what was wrong with this one which I thoroughly covered in the video. From my memory, rear accumulators need to be tended to. Locks do not work and will need to have a MittyVac and some patience to fix. Suspension felt tight otherwise. Auto Benz went through it. Service records will be uploaded tonight hopefully. Windows all work. Rear left is a little slow. I shot all the rust issues in the photos -- notable by the antenna and surface corrosion on the door sills. The undercarriage looked super clean upon inspection.
Anything mechanically that needs to be repaired? Windows work? Vacuum system works? I saw some rust but not sure what’s the extension of it, can you comment on this? Cold start and drive video would be nice. Best.
I welcome everyone to the auction of this 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300TDT! Please let me know if you have any questions about the vehicle. I'm brokering the sale for a friend on my secondary MBM account since I'm embedded in the Mercedes-Benz community more so than the current owner and am more than happy to find a new steward for the S123 since these are important cars to me. Just want to add a correction to the listing and say it does come with two keys not one. After a long conversation with the owner, he wanted to buy this car ages ago off a family friend. When it was time to let it go, they contacted him to see if he wanted to buy it per his request years ago. So it found a new home in Kennesaw, Georgia where Auto Benz pumped some money into it and the owner, using many Kent Bergsma videos and writeups, fixed it up slowly over time and was driven occasionally. He's now moving and just wants to find the right home for the car, which is why I said auctioning it off on The MB Market guarantees a responsible buyer for an old car.
