@omdriver @vigil @robertlnm I don't appreciate the disrespectful comments towards me. As you can see I put my money where my mouth is and actually bid on the auction to a reasonable number. You guys need to take a look at the Carfax report for this vehicle. It clearly states there is a mileage issue and it clearly states that even the previous owner reported a mileage issue. My comments on this auction were completely reasonable.
@VIGIL how is trying to verify mileage off putting? All of the methods you mentioned for verifying mileage are completely incorrect. Your uneducated response towards me is not appreciated. I am simply an educated buyer asking excellent questions. That is completely reasonable.
@OMdriver how about you stop insinuating that you know what's going on? It's clear the odometer has been swapped out as the part number on the odometer is from a different year model. We don't know why the steering wheel was covered that's why I was asking to see the condition of the steering wheel to help determine the mileage. I'm not insinuating anything I'm just an educated buyer. I'm not interested in your emotional responses I'm interested in facts.
@Robertlnm instead of being pretentious maybe try listening to someone that knows what they're talking about. Removing the steering wheel wrap will allow you to see the condition of the underlying grain pattern on the steering wheel. It is clear that the gauge cluster odometer has been swapped out on this car and this is not the actual mileage on the vehicle. Removing the wrap and inspecting the grain pattern on the steering wheel will allow someone that knows what they're doing to get a better idea of the actual mileage. Most likely the raft was applied to cover a very smooth and worn out steering wheel due to high mileage and heavy use. The part number on the odometer is not for 1983 it's actually for 1985. So seriously yes remove the wrap on the steering wheel so we can determine what's actually going on here. Now do you get it? Seriously?
I just wanted to see the original steering wheel to determine if the mileage is accurate. You can tell the mileage by the wear of the grain pattern on the steering wheel. It's all good no big deal.
Would you be open to removing the aftermarket leather wrapping that has been put over the steering wheel? It would help to see the condition of the original steering wheel underneath that. Should be able to quickly remove it by just cutting those little stitches and it'll pull right off.
The first paragraph of this auction says: "This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 6.0 AMG Hammer Sedan started life as a 300E ordered through the Stuttgart Branch and presumably built by AMG Germany" Why was it "presumably" built by AMG? Is this implying that this may not be an AMG built by AMG? The word presumably means that you aren't really sure. This is either an AMG built by AMG or it's not. Seriously why are we using the word presumably? What's going on here?
@NYCDriver we used GAHH out of California for all of our upholstery orders. You will need to find a local upholstery shop that can install the material for you.
Mark have the original glow plugs been changed? If not these often seize in the engine and can break when trying to remove. Also, are you willing to change the 10 year old tires?
Sorry I see that you already answered that question.
Are you able to ship these to the United States?
If you already told the story in the videos I'll go watch them and see if the details are there.
So what's the story on this car? Tires from 1995? Please give us some more details. Where did you find the car? What's the story what's going on here?
Thank you @jwalk72
If you are able please post some detailed undercarriage photos. Definitely needed in order to determine condition.
I just sent you a private message I live over in Roswell and would like to come take a look at the vehicle tomorrow.
Thank you
Can't see the rear headliner in that photo. The headliner typically sags in these vehicles is it sagging and this one?
Will you please post some pictures showing the headliner? Is it sagging in the rear?
Hello there I'm located in Roswell Georgia is it possible for me to come and inspect this vehicle in person? You can contact me at [email protected]
You actually removed the engine and changed the rear main seal? Wow.
@Ritz10520 You currently have a low ball bid on 35 cars on this site. It appears you are bidding on every auction.
@stevieboy you gotta relax man or you're going to have an early heart attack! Good luck finding your 19,000 mile E320 CDI with all the oil change documents hahaha.
@stevieboy I am a car dealer ;)
@Stevieboy why would there be records the car has 19,000 miles on it. hahaha
@UI_Classics okay thank you for getting back to me so it looks like it's going to need an engine upper and lower wiring harness.
Do you have any records with the car showing that the wiring harness in the engine compartment has been replaced? Also does the rear hatch stay up or do the hatch struts need to be replaced? Very cool car.
I apologize if this question has already been answered but why was the oil pan replaced? As far as I know the engine mounts have to be undone in the engine lifted in order to replace the oil pan on these cars. That's a pretty big job so just curious why the oil pan was replaced. It also says the transmission pan was replaced? Why was that also replaced?
