Congrats @Peabo! I'll give you a shout shortly!
Good luck everyone! Whatever this sells for, it's a ton (more like 2 tons) of value for the money. I'm actually jealous of the winner on this one. The car drives so well. Make sure to watch the video -- my reaction says it all.
@LukeVance2013I don't know how long it's been damaged for. It's a non-issue (the engine isn't getting only cold air - it would be pulling a little bit of hot air in from the engine bay), but if I bought the car I would fix it. Here's the part number for a replacement: 117 094 03 82 https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-hose-1170940382
@GoBoGoThanks for the kind words! The owner loves his car and is so conflicted on selling it. But there’s no return now since it is NO RESERVE! The thing is a tank and drives wonderfully. Guilt free miles since it’s surpassed the 200k mark. It’s all free at that point which is why I like daily driving highly maintained, high milage cars. Driver’s door might need a new check stop or at least an adjustment. It’s four 5mm allen bolts to adjust or $15 to replace it with a new unit. Interior door handle gets slack and is adjustable if you take the door card off and play with it.
@LukeVance2013It is actually the overflow hose from the expansion tank. You can buy a new one of FCP Euro for about $20 and install takes 10 minutes. These usually rot off because of age and heat and this one just wasn't replaced.
As we enter the final day of the auction, I’ll be around to answer any final questions. Replies might be a little late since I’m working today, but I’ll do my best and I’ll be attentive in the last hour. Thanks and good luck! One family owned. Highly maintained. No suspension issues. New transmission installed about 10 years ago. Fantastic driver and has been used as a daily driver since 2008, so everything works.
@PeaboCorrect. I just got your PM before dinner — I never saw your first email for whatever reason. Yes, all messages go to me as I’m the seller. If you win, I’ll be giving you a phone call within a minute of the auction ending and we can figure out logistics!
@PeaboCompletely valid question! I’m a friend of the family that’s selling it and assisting in navigating the auction. Whoever wins will be dealing with me up until delivery of the car. I’m not an agent or broker, just a Mercedes enthusiast trying to help find this car a good home.
Hey everyone! With just a few days left on the auction, I just wanted to check in with everyone watching the auction and make sure all questions or concerns are answered if interested parities have any. Please feel free to comment or PM me. Thanks!
Everyone welcome to the auction of this really interesting, one family owned W126! I got to spend the evening with this car and while I took a ton of photos trying to display the original condition of the car, the driving video I posted hopefully shows how utterly surprised I was at how well this thing drove. The owner really took care of everything and anything that would pop up when it broke. There’s so many W126s out there have layers and layers of deferred maintenance that can make an uninformed purchase turn into a stressful ownership experience. Everything just… worked and ran well on this car, down to how tight the suspension was. I’ll be on standby for further comments or questions. Again, PM me if you’d like to chat via a phone call — I have no issue with that. I’ve known the car for a few years now and am helping a friend navigate the auction sphere since I’m more literate in this space than he. He’s selling it since he just bought a new Tahoe and doesn’t have room for it anymore. It’s a sentimental auction as this car has a rich story and many Atlanta memories.
Congrats @Sarkisw! I'll be reaching out to you here shortly!
One owner car from RMB here in Atlanta -- they've been selling Mercedes-Benzs here for decades and decades. It's always a good story when you're getting a one owner car.
Good luck to everyone. Whoever wins this example will be happy with the car. I'm at my laptop ready to answer any last minute questions.
The auction comes to the final day, I’ll be around for final questions via comments or private messages. One owner car with window sticker and a mountain of dealer service records. Lots of big ticket items have been taken care of. These are enormous value for what you’re getting. I tried my hardest to accurately represent the car with the photos and detailed video provided since it’s more than likely someone is buying it sight unseen. I know how that’s like as a buyer and always try to add as much detail into my auctions as possible and try to not hide anything. Thanks everyone for the private messages, insightful questions, and good luck!
@BenhoganI didn’t see any record of them being done in the dealer service records provided. Luckily the car had had religious oil services with the proper weight and manufacturer of oil so that certainly puts the mind at ease.
@jcd214 A more detailed assessment of the rear Airmatic that leaks down after about a week of sitting is one of two thing: Rear shocks will be needing replacement. If you go with Arnotts, you’ll have a lifetime warranty. This is the best route. It will match the newer front Airmatic shocks recently installed and you’ll be set. Second is the valve block. Pretty straightforward repairs on both fronts. It’s more than likely the valve block though. These are just regular old consumable items on W211s with air suspension.
@ArmenianComparing specs from a modern day American halo sports car to a 17 year old family sedan with a hot rod engine tucked into it is an apples to oranges comparison.
Keep an eye out on the auction today, The MB Market team should be uploading a comprehensive walkaround and driving video today!
@MikeBarWhile the acceleration is impressive, it's the top end on these that can't be measured by metrics. If you mat it at 80 MPH, the car shrugs, cracks its knuckles, and will absolutely take off. The power delivery of the M156 is more locomotive than automotive. It doesn't stop pulling. P30 cars are limited to 186 MPH. LIMITED! An unlocked ECU on these would probably be knocking on door of 200 MPH. Here's a video of one hitting 194 MPH and was still pulling... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VV2D1kKmB8
Evening everyone and welcome to the auction of this lovely one owner 2007 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG! I'm helping a good friend of mine navigate the auction sphere since I'm a bit more familiar doing this than she and got to spend the evening with this E63 AMG. I own a S211 AMG myself, so I'm hoping I am a good candidate to help represent this example with my M156 experience. The dealer service records, window sticker, factory literature, and total sleeper color spec, there's a lot to like on this car. This one drives really well and feels highly maintained. I've tried to represent the car as accurately as possible since it's assumed the car will be sold sight unseen. I've noticed a small popping in the front when at opposite lock in parking lots (assuming lower control arm is a little tired) and the rear Airmatic will need some attention at some point as it sags after about a week sitting -- that's all I noticed. The rest of the functions in the car work! The interior smells really good, the engine/trans are very healthy, and I did not spot any oil or fluid leaks. I'll be attentive to any questions or comments. Please feel free to PM me and I'm more than willing to have a chat via phone call if you prefer that channel of communication. Thanks! Video will be uploaded here soon with detailed, lengthy walkaround and driving segments.
@NotaSirthe clear answer is that you're a robot.
@MBMitch Congrats on the purchase! Well fought to everyone.
@MBMitch Good to see you return! I remember you on my Colorado Beige 280SE!
Good luck to all the bidders. I hope my photos and the meticulous care of the vehicle instills a sense of confidence during bidding. I'm amped for the winner.
@MK395Appreciate the kind words! I'm trying to do this as more than just a passion/hobby, so if anyone does need auction photography in the Southeast, feel free to reach out to me. I've driven post and pre facelift cars and I have to admit I'm just that much more of a fan of the M273 cars. I'm a firm believer an S-Class deserves naturally aspirated power over turbos just because of the refinement factor. I know a lot of enthusiasts will probably disagree with me and I totally understand the love for turbos (who doesn't like kidney flattening torque and tunability?) but I'm just a curmudgeon who likes a quad cam Mercedes V8s without forced induction, plus the engineering is better than a turbo W221 -- plain and simple. Also I just like the painted panels going through the brake lights on a pre-facelift car. I think they're just neat.
As we come into the final day of the auction, I’ll be on standby for any last minute questions. This is kind of the spec for a W221. Green on tan is in vogue right now and is a timeless color combination, rare to see on an S-Class. The M273 is a much more reliable engine over the M278 the W221 got during its facelift since they don’t have the oil starvation issues on cold start, turbo issues, coolant pipe issues, and cylinder bore scoring issues. The S-Class deserves a NA V8 for its smooth and linear power delivery and this 5.5 liter quad cam engine makes more power than the AMG M113. It’s a perfect match. The service records are also a huge plus! The recent $11k service at DC MotorWerks, Atlanta’s best AMG/Mercedes specialty shop, absolutely went through the thing to get it worthy for the next owner. It’s just a super nice W221 and I’m excited for the next owner to win it. These are fantastic cars and this is a spectacular example that’s ready to just be driven.
@SchoonermonReally good catch, total oversight on the copy. I’ve alerted The MB Market team to edit the description. Blind spot assist was option 234 or 237 which this car does not have. I appreciate the comment.
@henryfpotterIt got lost in the uploads, I've sent the PDF to The MB Market team to upload it now. PM me if you want and I can send it directly to you if you need it immediately! Second page breakdown for the other bidders who want to see it now goes as such: Remove seat back and replace lumbar bladder and control unit R/R engine mounts, trans mounts R/R right and left front CV axles R/R rear flex disk, propeller shaft joint and adjust Rear bumper repair Pg 2 invoice will be uploaded shortly!
@ArmenianI've emailed The MB Market to upload all the service invoices to the gallery. They'll be up tonight. Oil changes were indeed plentiful in the stack of records. Keep an eye on the listing and I'm sure The MB Market team will drop a comment when they're up. EDIT: Sorry for the delay, all the invoice files got corrupt. I've since converted the files and resent them to The MB Market team -- they'll be uploaded ASAP. Thanks!
@f51468 Congrats! We will chat soon.
@cmscollect You sold my dad's old 300CE a while back on here. How odd you're bidding on car from my family again. Super small world.
@ferrari1971Sahara Yellow is one of my favorites. The '70s pastels that bled over into the early '80s Sacco cars is such a good period. In the final moments of the auction, if you aren't in the know, W116 Euro headlights and bumpers are drying up and are becoming increasingly expensive and hard to find. That was one of the big draws when I bought the car. The hardware alone is probably worth close to $3000 at this point and worth a MB Market auction alone for the parts if they weren't attached to my Colorado Beige car.
As the auction comes to a close, I’ll be on standby for any existing, last minute questions. I wish all the bidders good luck. Keep an eye out on the articles section on The MB Market in the coming days as there will be a story published on this 280SE since this car is such an anomaly and deserves to be written about and documented.
@JMeathe81Considering I’ve been putting roughly 55 miles on it per day I’d honestly say you’re safe. I’ve done a few day trips totaling over a hundred miles each. Car is rock solid. I wouldn’t list anything that would break on a few hundred mile road trip. I take a lot of pride in my classics. I’ve owned a ton of these pre-merge Mercedes (about 25 at this point) and I drive them all. 1000+ miles road trips, daily commutes, regional MBCA drives, etc. Maintenance is like a religion to me and I’m a zealot. My uncle is a 50 year classic MB tech, my brother is a AMG specialty technician, and I service all my own cars per the manufacturer intervals no matter the year and have restored a few cars you’ve probably seen go up for auction on this site, several breaking records. I love these and it’s important to keep them as they should be maintained. There’s a few quirks listed in my first comment I’m more than happy to tell you, or anyone else who wins the car, through!
@equinepeddlerThanks, that's appreciated. @NYCdriver watch the driving video- we definitely played up the city driving here in Atlanta, GA. For all wondering, the car has handled summer temps beautifully with A/C on and no hiccups.
The MB Market got around to uploading walk around and driving videos.
@hobbsm3Appreciate the positive comment! If I didn't already have a spare set of Euro W116 bumpers and headlights in my garage, I would've taken the ones off of this car to squirrel them away. Good luck with your Euro W126. Really unique car as well! As a reminder to all interested parties, feel free to PM me if you want to have a casual conversation over the phone with me about my W116 -- I'm more than happy to chat about it. The MB Market will be uploading a walkaround and driving video hopefully tonight going into great detail of the car.
@Ilovebigtoys The repair was done previous to my ownership. I wish I knew the story on why it was chosen, but I don't know why. It's just lost in time. Your guess is as good as mine.
@ProdigalPetrolHeadI've Googled "Colorado Beige W116" during my research and found a few photos of one in Poland and then a bunch of photos from this shoot populating the search engine. After a lot of research, I can't find production numbers per color from Mercedes-Benz. I'd be curious to reach out to the classic center to see if they could help out of genuine curiosity or if anyone in the comments knows of a resource.
@CarCrazy24That’s a good question. I don’t know much about CA Smog regulations, but what I can tell you is there is a smog pump attached to the engine without a belt connected. There’s also a charcoal canister pictured too in the engine bay. The car is completely stock with all cats present. I hope that helps.
@PeaboNo worries! Let me know if you need anything else answered in the meantime.
@Peabo1) Per the description in the listing, 2015 date codes. 2) I've been driving with the untinted windows up around Atlanta and not sweating. Definitely keeps up with summer heat. Appreciate the comments! @elie7elie Per the description, yes, all the North American parts were replaced with Euro a few years ago.
Morning everyone! I'm super happy and proud to showcase my personal daily driver on The MB Market. It's a super original car that I've been using to do my 54 mile work commute for a while now and have decided to sell no reserve. I'm fascinated by the weird colors Mercedes-Benz used during this era and have always wanted a Colorado Beige car. I haven't found any other in this paint color that have hit auctions (someone feel free to prove me wrong). It's a really rare, weird color that doesn't fit into modern traffic which I love. Slick top, leather, M110 inline six, in Colorado Beige makes it a curious spec. Feel free to ask any questions and I'm on standby if anyone needs supplementary photos. A lengthy driving and walk around video is on the way that'll get posted here soon. A few things to mention: I have the cruise control module removed from under the dash that I was going to get serviced since the capacitors are no longer working. I never got around to it but I have the two nuts and bolt in a labeled bag with the module. It's about $100 to get serviced. I can recommend the guy to do it who has serviced about 4 in the past for me. Tires are older but were in a climate controlled garage and were not mounted, so no flat spots. They perform well in the wet. A/C works! It just turns off at 42 MPG for about three seconds then kicks on again. One of the weird characters of these ACC II vacuum units. Car sometimes has a hard start when hot on occasion. Will take about 5 seconds to crank when it decides to act up but cranks 100% of the time. Just takes a little finesse. Car drives like a champ, even past three digit speeds. I really enjoyed this car and want it to go to a good home.
Thanks everyone for bidding! I wanted to apologize and say my phone died while I was out and about in Chicago on vacation and had no way to interact with bidders. I’ve reached out to the winner and to answer one question, yes they hold air!
@amgnut A quick Google search provided me with information that a W140 S600 has a wheel offset of ET 46. In the photo gallery provided, these have an offset of ET 38. That said, I'd reference this thread here to see what people fitting on their cars: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/w140-wheels-rims-tires-fitment.1497096/
@Braxxton401On the generous side, I'd safely budget $150 per wheel for shipping.
@IlovebigtoysI’d correspond sizes with this old Benz World stickied thread: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/r129-wheel-sizes-with-ets.1449768/ I’m inclined to say they will fit after a little bit of reading.
Welcome everyone to the auction! I'm helping auction my brother's Ronal-Lorinser wheels that came off a W210 1997 E420 with a Brabus appearance package that he's had in his garage for the past year. Being an AMG specialty technician, he's collected a fair amount of rare, esoteric parts over the years and is just clearing space. They need a little love and he just wants them to go to an enthusiast home. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll get back to you. Thanks everyone!
Thanks for the bids everyone and the good questions! @RENNtech6 seems super excited to get into his first classic Mercedes and I'm excited for him to get into one of the best chassis Mercedes-Benz has built. I'm super passionate about these cars that are not the cleanest examples but deserve love and restoration which is why I made this secondary account to find these things and get them out to enthusiasts. Thanks for watching the auction!
As far as the miles reflecting the milage, based off of how supportive the seats are it honestly could be accurate. The car did a lot of sitting resulting in some fuzzy aluminum in the engine bay and the cracked dash is indicative of it seeing sun. It's hard to tell with this car.
@clonskiOdometer functions as per the video. The owner told me it has always functioned during his 12 years of ownership. We unfortunately don't know the accuracy previous to that. I don't remember seeing any rust on the hinges or I would have photographed it. Sorry for the late responses, I got tied up at work for an emergency.
@clonskiThanks for the questions! 1: The SLS does have fluid and I spotted no leaks in the system. The accumulators have a rubber diaphragm in them that degrade and burst over time resulting in a harsh ride over bumps in the rear. Those accumulators have failed. Super easy job to tackle for the home mechanic and parts are available. Part No. 1233200215. About $95 each (need two) from FCP Euro plus SLS fluid. 2: A/C does not blow cold. Will probably need a flush and a recharge with PAG 150 oil and R134a refrigerant. 3: Floor pans are good. I see what you’re talking about in the photos. I think that was surface damage from a floor jack in the undercoating when I zoom in on the picture. I was relieved to find no chassis rust on the car when I had my head under there with a flashlight. I’ll see if I can get better existing pictures up of the door sills. Let me know if you have anything else troubling you!
I have the walk-around and driving video uploaded for your viewing please along with service records.
@Motor275Mixed is about 24 MPG with a 19 gallon fuel tank. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 - 450 miles on a tank.
@Thefrenchman I'll have MBM upload my rather long winded driving video of the car tonight or tomorrow where I cover everything in a first drive impression. I've owned several concours condition 123s in the past, so I'm able to use my experience to tell what was wrong with this one which I thoroughly covered in the video. From my memory, rear accumulators need to be tended to. Locks do not work and will need to have a MittyVac and some patience to fix. Suspension felt tight otherwise. Auto Benz went through it. Service records will be uploaded tonight hopefully. Windows all work. Rear left is a little slow. I shot all the rust issues in the photos -- notable by the antenna and surface corrosion on the door sills. The undercarriage looked super clean upon inspection.
I welcome everyone to the auction of this 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300TDT! Please let me know if you have any questions about the vehicle. I'm brokering the sale for a friend on my secondary MBM account since I'm embedded in the Mercedes-Benz community more so than the current owner and am more than happy to find a new steward for the S123 since these are important cars to me. Just want to add a correction to the listing and say it does come with two keys not one. After a long conversation with the owner, he wanted to buy this car ages ago off a family friend. When it was time to let it go, they contacted him to see if he wanted to buy it per his request years ago. So it found a new home in Kennesaw, Georgia where Auto Benz pumped some money into it and the owner, using many Kent Bergsma videos and writeups, fixed it up slowly over time and was driven occasionally. He's now moving and just wants to find the right home for the car, which is why I said auctioning it off on The MB Market guarantees a responsible buyer for an old car.

Keep an eye on the listing and I'm sure The MB Market team will drop a comment when they're up. EDIT: Sorry for the delay, all the invoice files got corrupt. I've since converted the files and resent them to The MB Market team -- they'll be uploaded ASAP. Thanks!

As far as the miles reflecting the milage, based off of how supportive the seats are it honestly could be accurate. The car did a lot of sitting resulting in some fuzzy aluminum in the engine bay and the cracked dash is indicative of it seeing sun. It's hard to tell with this car.
