This 1998 Mercedes-Benz S420 was initially sold and registered in Texas with subsequent registrations noted in California and Arizona starting in 2000. The current owner and seller purchased the car in 2023 and has added approximately 7k miles. This S420 is finished in Glacier/Neve White (143) over Beige Leather (265) interior and powered by a 4.2-liter M119 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes heated front seats, a power sun shade, power mirrors, an original car phone with handsfree capability, dual-zone climate control, the original first aid kit, and more. The included Carfax report shows 19 service records and the current owner has had a considerable amount of maintenance performed including valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coils, and wires, a rear window regulator, new drive belt and pulleys, new cabin and air filters, and an oil service. This LWB S420 is offered for sale by the current owner in Phoenix, Arizona with original literature, two keys, recent records, a Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in Glacier/Neve White (143) and features a power-operated glass sunroof with tilt function, headlight wipers, a power antenna, and dual-pane insulated side windows. A new right side headlamp assembly was installed under the seller’s care and all exterior features are noted to work as intended. The carfax report shows an accident reported in 2022 with no noticeable signs of paintwork. The nose of the car shows some rock chips and two small dents noted in the rear passenger door. Detailed photos of the car can be seen in the gallery.
Stock 16” wheels wear Kumho Solace tires measuring 235/60 at all four corners with 2021 date codes shown. The car is equipped with Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), and stopping power is provided by anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin is upholstered in Beige Leather (265) along with matching carpets and walnut veneer on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, soft-close doors and trunk, power-adjustable heated front seats with memory, an electrically adjustable steering column, and new carpet floor mats. The seller notes the soft close for the doors operates as intended but the trunk soft close is inoperable. Additionally, the sunroof shade is stuck open, and the glovebox is stuck closed.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, fuel gauge, and a combination gauge indicating oil pressure, coolant temperature, and instant fuel economy. The digital odometer indicates 117k miles. The seller has noted the oil temperature gauge to be inoperable.
The 4.2-liter M119 V8 features dual overhead camshafts along with four valves per cylinder and produced 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque when new. The included Carfax report shows 19 service records and the current owner has had a considerable amount of maintenance performed including valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coils, and wires, a rear window regulator, new drive belt and pulleys, new cabin and air filters, and an oil service. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates since new. This LWB S420 is offered for sale by the current owner in Phoenix, Arizona with original literature, two keys, recent records, a Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.

@Tw9886 yes. It's still for sale in north Phoenix.
Is the car available locally?
@Classygrand The Mono's always look great on this era Mercedes. This is the 2nd 140 I've had with these 16. I've considered installing some 18" Monos, but I love the ride you get with big sidewalls.

@morgej Everything that's power operated functions properly.
The description says all exterior features work but does not mention the interior features? How does the radio, HVAC, power / heated seats, power windows, power mirrors, sunroof, etc work?
