Lorinser has been attached to Mercedes-Benz since the 1930s and began tuning cars in 1976. The brand has been around for ages at this point and they got very popular in the ‘90s and the 2000s as tuning culture began taking over everything. Tuner culture had a snap from fringe to mainstream as the Fast & Furious franchise overwhelmed pop culture and all facets of media, which then saw widespread acceptance to the car scene. There were several Lorinser outfits in Atlanta that are even still active today, so seeing the car was sold new in ATL would explain why and how the car got the Lorinser treatment. It’s so wonderfully period correct and oozes “04 rich” energy, especially with the striking silver on red color combo. A lot of red R230 interiors don’t hold up as nicely as this car has and the wood appears to have not seen much UV as it’s dark and rich still. With new Michelins, top hydraulics, and quite a nice headunit that will talk to your phone, this is a very clean, low mileage tuner of the mid 2000s – an aesthetic that has suddenly become vogue again.
