This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300CE is being relisted with The MB Market after the buyer failed to follow through with the purchase through no fault of the car or seller. This 300CE is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) under the Midnight Blue Metallic wrap over Brazilian Brown Leather (263) interior, and power is provided by a 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes an authentic AMG body kit, 17" painted AMG Aero I wheels, electrically-adjustable front seats, a power sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an aftermarket Kenwood stereo head unit. The car is believed to have been upfitted by AMG Westmont and comes with photo documentation from the 90's showing the car with the AMG upgrades, and registration history in the Chicago area since new. The car was in storage from 2009 until 2024 when the previous owner performed an extensive service to get the car back on the road. Service in 2024 includes a new fuel system, drive belts, valve cover gasket, coolant flush, oil service, and more. In 2025, the current owner refinished the wheels, a complete suspension refresh, and wrapped the car. This C124 is now offered on behalf of the seller in Marietta, Georgia with and odometer reading just under 152k miles and includes recent service records, a spare OEM grille, wooden center glove box, a Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) under the Midnight Blue Metallic wrap with a full authentic Gen 1 AMG body kit. The body kit consists of both front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and a Westmont molded trunk spoiler, all of which were also used on the AMG Hammer at the time. Additional features include headlight wipers, a painted sunroof with tilt function, and rear antenna. The seller reports there are some blemishes in the paint and the spoiler shows some cracks with pictures provided from the previous listing. The original painted grille has been installed to keep the car period correct and can be seen in photos from the ‘90s with the original owner posting next to his car on the first day of ownership. Richard Buxbaum remembers the client and the car when they built it new. New headlight lenses were installed in 2024.
17" AMG Aero I wheels were sent out to California to be stripped of their original, deteriorated chrome finish and now have painted centers with a silver lip and wear Pirelli P7 Cinturato with 2022 date codes. These Aero I Monoblocks are of a staggered setup measuring 225/45 front and 245/40 rear and just had new valve cores and grommets installed. Butler Tire of Marietta did a complete suspension overhaul including:
The cabin features Brazilian Brown Leather (263) upholstery with matching original Mercedes-Benz carpets. Burl wood trim accents the center console, dash, and door cards with some cracking visible around the shifter and window switches. Amenities include electrically-adjustable front seats, a functional power tilt/sliding sunroof, working automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Kenwood headunit. The headliner is shown in the gallery and is in good condition without any sagging. The power operated seatbelt handlers also work. The front passenger window does not roll down while all others function. An upgraded Kenwood KDC-X705 headunit was installed by the current owner and features Bluetooth capabilities. The rear glass shows a crack.
The airbag-equipped four spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and additional auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and instant economy. The odometer reads just under 152k miles.
The 3.0-liter M104 DOHC inline-six produced 217 horsepower and 195 ft/lbs when new and is paired with a four-speed 722.3 automatic transmission. These M104.980 3.0-liter engines had a 7,000 RPM redline and was the first generation of M104 in the 124 platform, replacing the 2V per cylinder M103. The car had been sitting since 2009 and the previous owner has performed extensive services to get the car running and driving. Service includes a new fuel system with the replacement of fuel hoses, fuel strainer, fuel pumps, fuel filter, fuel crush washers, new fuel injectors, seats and seals, and cleaned fuel hard lines. The drive belt has been replaced along with the valve cover gasket. An engine oil service and coolant flush was also performed. A new battery was installed in preparation for the sale. Underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage, and registration history in the Chicago area since new. A duplicate title was issued in 1994 causing the report to show not actual mileage, however, all mileage updates are linear on the report. This C124 is now offered in MArietta, Georgia with recent service records, an OEM grill, wooden center glove box, a Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
A walk around and driving video of the car has been provided by the seller below.

@stuttgart_steel - that is what I figured. Still, nowadays a Camry is faster than a 6.0 m117, and you can't beat a "high" miles, well maintained (with provenance) car like this. @herewegoagain is quite the astute bidder. Congrats 🎉 Be sure to update us here (tag me please!) after delivery and again after 6-12 months of ownership. Keep adding miles!! 🤠@SwissBliss This has a stock early M104 (special in its own right) but pre-mergers with engine work are what command the premium. I can guarantee you this will appreciate as time goes by as the other pre-mergers get more and more expensive. Only natural. And I don’t think over come across a genuine C126 duck tail. That’s a rare bird. What a deal. I am curious @selller (and bidder I suppose) -- why does this not command more money compared to other pre-merger AMGs? Lack of manual transmission? Just body kit, nothing done to engine? I think this is a fantastic car, not only a looker, but a driver as well. Well done @herewegoagain !! What are your plans for the car? Please daily it 🤠 Also @stuttgart_steel - regarding the ducktail spoiler - I've long desired one for my SEC but never see one come up for sale. Any sourcing tips?Nicely done!@herewegoagain I feel like your name is a reference to what competing bidders mutter when you hit them with relentless bids. That was awesome and congrats! @GoBoGo Also the car has a ceramic coating that's specifically to go on top of wraps/PPF. So washing it would basically be as easy as hosing it off and then hitting it with a leaf blower to dry.@GoBoGo The ducktail spoiler to do in-period was an absurd amount of money. That's one of the most subtle parts of the car, but arguably one of the coolest parts now. I was around 8 Hammers yesterday and admiring the Westmont integrated ducktails on some of them.@Stuttgart_Steel Thanks for the info! This has a long way to go--the wheels and body kit are probably worth more than the current bid!!! GLWTA!@GoBoGo Avoid using a pressure washer or the egg beater car washes and wash it by hand like a normal car. Wrap technology has come a long way, so it's super durable. The paint underneath shows patina like all original paint Smoke Silver cars since the clear coat was weak on that metallic color.Just a curious question, I've never owned a car that was wrapped before- how's the care and feeding with that? And the paint under the wrap? Hoping this gets more respect on round 2!As we enter the final hours, I'm around to answer any last minute questions! Thank you for the PMs and I enjoyed chatting to you guys. -Full suspension refresh -Westmont build car, famous for their Hammer style welded ducktail spoilers -Early M104 engine with a 7k RPM redline -Westmont custom built grill. A regular OEM one is included in the trunk -New tires and refinished wheels@DW168 Thank you for the comment!Another beautiful car and quality listing and presentation by @Stuttgart_Steel. I can attest to the professionalism and integrity of the seller after recently purchasing the Lorinser wagon; quick responses, honest and fellow car enthusiast. Would definitely purchase another car from seller w/o hesitation. GLWTA!$10,500 bid placed by @MBDan

Hey everyone, the 300CE is back up. First and foremost, just want to clarity why this listing is live again. The high bidder on the previous listing and I had a wonderful initial conversation over the phone about the car and he was incredibly excited for it and had big plans on how he was going to use. After that first phone call, he ghosted me entirely in one of the poorer executions of online auction etiquette I've ever seen. It was NOT the car's fault, rather the buyer changing minds, getting cold feet, who knows. The MB Market has been wonderful working with on getting this 300CE back up and helping me behind the scenes. Since then, the car has been cranked regularly and has been store indoors since -- we have not put a single mile on it since and it has not changed since the last listing. I'm going to go ahead and repost my opening comment: Welcome to this Westmont built C124 auction! This is a very cool car as I'm a fan of 3.0-liter early C124s as it got the high revving M104. But on top of that, this has a full Westmont AMG body kit including the signature Westmont metal welded trunk spoiler that a lot o the Hammers got. Mark Para rescued this car and mechanically went through it before my friend who currently owns the car bought it. He then did a very thorough suspension refresh with Butler Tire's classic Mercedes-Benz specialist (shoutout to Wayne) to get the suspension dialed in and the stance corrected. This car has some patina and miles on it, which I'll argue is a good thing. It's rare to be able to buy a Westmont AMG and then reliably log miles on it or daily drive it without worrying about loss of value. This car is just that. Tight suspension, cold A/C, and a healthy engine this one has. It's ready to boogie. Please look through the gallery and watch my video. I will be getting pictures of the AMG body kit stampings and undersides uploaded tomorrow, so stay tuned! I'm open for phone calls and please comment or PM if you need anything from me or if I missed an important detail that needs clarification. Thanks!
