This 2005 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG was sold new at Mercedes-Benz of Los Angeles and has remained in California since new. Finished in Black (040) over Charcoal Exclusive Leather (581), power is provided by a 6.0-liter biturbo V12 paired with a five-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Features include exclusive two-piece AMG wheels, heated and ventilated multicontour front seats, an electronic trunk closer, a Bose surround sound system, COMAND with Navigation, Distronic cruise control, an electric rear rollerblind, and much more. Approximately $18k worth of service has been performed since 2020 with partial service records included. Now with 104k miles from new, this CL65 is offered for sale by the current owner with the original tool kit, spare tire, a VMI report, clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features AMG styling including a sculpted front and rear bumper, side skirts and quad chrome AMG exhaust tips. Exterior features include bi-xenon headlamps, Distronic cruise control, a heated windshield washer system, a power-closing trunk and a glass sunroof. Factory "V12 biturbo" badging is exclusive to the CL65 and present on each front fender. The paint is believed to be original with no accidents showing on the Carfax. Minor rock chips are present on the front end.
Fitted are the factory staggered 19” AMG twin-spoke two-piece alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires measuring 245/40 front and 275/35 rear. AMG 8-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers are painted silver with AMG lettering and are mounted with two-piece ventilated discs. The wheels show some minor road rash and retain their factory dark grey painted faces.
The cabin is trimmed in Charcoal Exclusive Leather (581) with double-stitched leather covering the dashboard, center console, and doors. Burl Walnut wood trim accents the interior along with a lighter contrasting grey headliner. Both front seats are heated and ventilated and feature dynamic multicontour seatbacks. Interior amenities include a power rear window blind, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose surround sound system, COMAND infotainment with navigation, power folding rear headrests and a 6-disc CD changer. The seller notes some missing pixels on the COMAND screen as seen in the gallery.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 220mph speedometer with a floating needle alongside a 7k-rpm tachometer, fuel level indicator and coolant temperature gauge. A configurable digital display sits in the center and is accompanied on either side by digital displays for the outside temperature and a digital clock. The digital odometer reads just over 104k miles.
This CL65 is powered by an AMG-tuned 6.0-liter biturbo V12 which was hand assembled and signed by the builder. The car is factory rated at 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed AMG SpeedShift automatic transmission. The seller reports $18k in service performed since 2020 with accompanying service records viewable in the gallery.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage, along with linear mileage updates and registration history exclusively in California. This V12 AMG coupe is offered by the current owner with the original tool kit, spare tire, a VMI report, clean Carfax report and a clean California title.

@mercedesss1 they are the best wheels of that era!
@j_anthony great questions! any issues with the ABC? Nope! Does the car lift/drop as expected, Works perfect! and does it lower to bumpstops after being parked for more than a few days? Nope! I see the screen has some issues, does the COMAND work? Works fine, just some dead pixels And have there been any additions to the system such as bluetooth phone or audio? Nope - all factory!

Love those wheels
Thanks for the cold start vid...that engine sounds much better than the supercharged 55! Couple of quick questions: any issues with the ABC? Does the car lift/drop as expected, and does it lower to bumpstops after being parked for more than a few days? I see the screen has some issues, does the COMAND work? And have there been any additions to the system such as bluetooth phone or audio? (viseo module in the armrest, etc)

A cold start video has been added to the listing.
All, someone asked for a cold start video. Here you go (it might still be uploading): https://youtu.be/niONY-q0o5w @thembmarket
Hey @Recco___ thanks for the question! TheMbMarket is just a platform to list a vehicle and bid on it. The inspection, transaction, delivery is all on the responsibility of the potential buyer.
Hello, How do we inspect the car , is it the auction responsibility to provide true information we can relay on or we have to inspect the vehicle before the auction day ?
$8,500 bid placed by @MBcar123
Hello folks, the auction will be ending soon. I will try and make myself available for any questions. Best of luck to all the bidders and special thank you to those who have bid thus far! @Gene3405 @Twelves @bhenry3 @2plus2 I will be rooting for the biggest wallet. :) To all the bid-snipers out there, I hope your internet connections are perfect and your mouse clicking skills are sharp :)
A driving video has been added to the listing along with paint meter readings in the gallery.
@Retsnom I put about $24k in dealership repairs into my CL55. Bought it with 46000 miles, drove it 23k miles, sold it at 69k miles for 7k. I hope your CL500 is a little easier with the repair bills!
IF this goes for cheaper than my 2004 CL500, with 88k miles and some minor issues and not AMG, I might get angry at myself for not holding out longer. Such a beautiful example of a v-12 version.
Someone needs to swap one of these motors into an R129! A 90s SL65 has a nice ring to it!

Excellent looking car and a great seller !
$7,000 bid placed by @Twelves
I would like to note that although there is no documentation for it: the previous owner assured me that the owner before him (Owner 1/2) did replace both coil packs. The closest evidence for confirming the work was done can be found on the invoice on image 119 of the gallery.
@RiceHauler Good catch! The listing has been updated to reflect the car is not optioned with Parktronic.
I note that the description reads "Exterior features include bi-xenon headlamps, Parktronic, Distronic cruise control, a heated windshield washer " yet there is no Parktronic button on the center stack (It should be next to the roller blind).
@RiceHauler thank you for the compliments! Regarding Keyless-go - right!? I was shocked, although, I personally am a big time manual-key person. I always lose keys to my cars that have Keyless-go 😅
Great auto and presentation. I'm amazed that this vehicle doesn't have Keyless Go despite having everyother option available that year.

Hi @thphon , thanks again for your question. I analyzed every receipt you specified and like I mentioned previously, the date at the too reflects the date the invoice was printed. There is no discrepancy that I can see anywhere - the mileage perfectly matches up with the vehicle and the Carfax history. In addition to that, @thembmarket has been so kind as to update the listing with the VMI from Mercedes-Benz as well. Which also tracks the mileage. If you have any further questions, you’re more than welcome to contact the shop and discuss their invoice layout with them. They are the only authorized Mercedes-Benz independent shop by the dealership in that area and have an amazing reputation. Regarding the soft close - I addressed it in my previous comment. I’ll paste here for convenience, “ Soft close pump works fine - no invoice for that, as it was a quick and free fix (just a pneumatic line that was loose on one end that needed to be secured) and that was done during my ownership. The invoices are from the previous owner.”
@thesheikh at first I was confused by that, but they are in the body of the invoices, but I'm talking about the actual miles on the car at the top right corner. The first I mention is between images 123 and 124. The second one is between images 131 and 132. And the last one between 131 and 135. And what about the soft close feature? Thanks
Thanks @thphon ! Mileage inconsistencies? Sorry I don’t see that. Maybe you’re mixing up the mileage for the rental car that was documented on some of the invoices? Feel free to cross reference with the Carfax as well. For the invoices, I believe the date on the top is the date the invoice was printed - not the date-in/date-out. Personally, I follow the invoice number and the mileage listed. Soft close pump works fine - no invoice for that, as it was a quick and free fix (just a pneumatic line that was loose on one end that needed to be secured) and that was done during my ownership. The invoices are from the previous owner.
great looking car! Can you elaborate on the work done in the last few years, because I see inconsistencies with the miles. It goes up 5000 miles in 7 days in 2021. Then there's an invoice from November 2021 that has more miles than another one from September 2022. And there are two separate invoices from the same place on 9/9/22 for 2 different jobs done with different miles. Besides that, is there anything that doesn't work on the car right now? In particular, I don't see in the invoices that the pump for the soft close was replaced. Thanks
