This 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190SL stayed under the original owner's care until 1992 before being sold to its second owner with 51k miles. The second owner used it as a weekend driver and the current seller acquired the car in 2022. The roadster is finished in Light Blue (DB334) over a Parchment Leather (265) cabin with power provided by the original 1.9-Liter M121 Inline-Four mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Notable features include a Parchment folding soft top and paint-matched removable hardtop in Light Blue (DB334), an AM/FM radio, original push button start, factory heat, spare parts, and the original ivory steering wheel and shift knob. Recent service includes a carburetor and filter swap, 14” wheel upgrade, and oil change. The odometer displays 61k miles with approximately 800 added by the current owner. This 190SL is offered with two keys, recent service records, spare parts, and a clean Texas title.
The body is finished in Light Blue (DB334) and features a paint-matched removable hardtop. The folding soft top is trimmed in Parchment cloth with detailed photos shown in the gallery. Features include chrome stone guards, original brightwork, a driver's side mirror, and original lamps.
Upgraded 14″ steel wheels with paint matched wheel covers have been added under prior ownership with the original 13” wheels, hubcaps, and tires included in the sale. A factory spare wheel and tire is included in the trunk with a tool kit and jack. Vredestein Sprint tires are currently mounted.
The cabin is trimmed in Parchment Leather (265) across the seats, door cards, parcel shelf, and soft top boot. The leather seats show some wear and patina while retaining shape and finish nicely. The paint-matched dashboard displays original brightwork for the switchgear and accents while the original ivory steering wheel and shift knob remain in place. Features include factory push button start, heat, and an am/fm radio. Spare parts include matching sun visors. The removable hardtop features a parchment headliner and matching carpets are shown throughout the cabin.
The dual spoke ivory steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The left gauge needle cap is loose and can be seen up close in photos. The analog odometer displays 61k miles.
The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was rated for 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque when new and features a single overhead camshaft along with dual side-draft carburetors. Recent service includes a carburetor and filter swap with the originals included in the sale.
This 190SL is offered with two keys, recent service records, spare parts, and a clean Texas title.

@ancheyev it didn’t sell my reserve on it is higher , there’s no 190sl with the history this one has 2 owners and 61k miles for this price, last week they sold one here it doesn’t run or drive been through fire and water damage as well , and no soft top it went for 48500. I sold my other 190 last year with no radio and no hard top and no heating system for 120k.
Good luck with purchase. Was little above my budget, whoever bought should be happy, great car.

Photos showing the new generator have been added to the gallery.
Pictures of the new generator will be uploaded soon ,
I been getting the car ready to go to it’s new home, I want to make sure that the lucky family have no issues what so ever and start enjoying there new toy and show it off. So today I changed the generator it wasn’t charging the battery good, so I spent Bout 580$ parts and 300$ labor on that, also changed engine oils and brake oil, on top of changing the fuel pump previously when I got the car
@biturbius how are you , it’s what you see , looks really good undercarriage, no rust just by the shocks I believe a little I saw , I don’t know if this car has been ever fully restored, but floor looks great

Hi @Samir, is there any chance you could provide pictures of the undercarriage of this beauty? I am worried about rust. Thanks !
@Coachmule by the way carpet is like new it want clear over the phone but interior is in great condition, and thank you for you clarifying few things to me and was great talking to you .
Interesting comments today about this car. Samir and I talked on the phone Saturday night we setup a FaceTime to help him understand the top and the carburetors. I’m not claiming to be an expert but I have owned 6 of these cars. First the top, the cable system and bolts are there. Samir was honest and showed the flaws to the top you need to budget for a soft top unless you can live with a few holes for me I’d buy a new convertible top. Second the hard top, looks like Samir had the headliner restored. For me hardtop means taking up space in the garage. Now the carburetors they are not the original solexs. If you know these stop with thinking Webers were an option they weren’t a lot of people put that conversion on these cars. All 6 of mine had the original carburetors, I was always lucky enough to find someone who could work on them. The car currently and he states it has a single carburetor, I’ve never seen this conversion before but again I’d source real Solexs that are out there on the SL forum. He has two sets of tires, 13” and 14”. The eye lids seem ok , the car looks straight and anything I asked him to show me he was more then happy to help me. I showed him where to look on the frame rail for numbers seems like they match as does the block. It’s not a 100 point car, he’s not saying it is. Look at the pictures call him if your interested and the guy was a true gentleman. I don’t know him previously to my phone call , FaceTime and multiple texts. As I stated to him 190’s aren’t for everyone. I want everyone to know I have never met him have no business or other ties as I wrote I’m looking for a daily driver. Another thing no clock in the car. You’ll pay a ransom for one but there are people out there that rebuild them. Samir said there was an issue with the generator, he was going to have it changed today. If your that curious I tell people have a PPI done or fly to see it if you know them. The interior looked ok from the FaceTime. Might need carpets but again not sure what someone is looking to do to her. He also started it for me. Am I a player only time will tell. I buy and sell on other sites I don’t flip I check cars off I’ve always wanted. Good luck everyone. Coachmule

@thembmarket: It just happened again. I posted a reply an hour ago. Not there. @Samir: Solexes came with this car. Someone removed the original Solexes and put Webers on it. It's possible that someone stamped numbers into the Webers? If you will follow the link in the earlier thread, you can learn a whole lot about these cars. As for "numbers matching". The only way to tell what "numbers" can match on a vintage Mercedes Benz is with a Data Card (build sheet) from the MB Classic Center. That's because MB wasn't all that worried about whether or not the engine had the same number on it as the chassis, etc. They often didn't have the same number on them. But original car components will "match" the Data Card. You can email the MB Classic Center and for $150 and proof of ownership, they will supply you with a Data Card.
Ladies and gentlemen , the last few pictures were just added it shows the extra parts that were in the car before the previous owner did the conversion to the K&N filter with the single carburetor, and putting the original parts back is your preference and how you would prefer the car to be, the history of this car is amazing to me that was kept for so many years and driven and maintained . If anyone have the time to make it a Concorde condition it won’t take so much money to do so , and it would be a $300k car, but if you like to drive a car opal with all it’s history and enjoy it every day this car is what you looking for . One day left , enjoy the auction and good luck to you all, I will help with everything I could from A to Z , even can arrange best rates for shipping to your door step . Thank you all
A cold start video and additional pictures have been added to the listing.
@bstreep Sellers do not have the ability to delete comments and we have not deleted any. Perhaps the first comment did not post. Please let us know if it happens again, thank you.
So are you saying matching numbers Webers are not original on the car ?????
@Samir: I said what I said. I don’t care what someone may have stamped on those Weber carbs. As an owner for nearly 30 years, the webmaster for the International 190 SL Group for many years, a former board member of the group, the former forums administrator of the Mercedes Benz Club of America, and a one time classic car appraiser: you are either mistaken, or you are being deceptive. Your choice. https://190slgroup.com/tech/tech-joomla.htm
@bstreep my friend as I said they have matching numbers with the car, and your saying no way????? Are you ok
It’s pretty simple. Webers were never OEM on 190 SLs. Never, ever. They are a popular replacement, and my 190 SL has them. But original? No way.
Pictures will be posted shortly
I meant they are original Webers
@bstreep Thaer Webers
@bstreep my friend the carbs I have with the car has the matching numbers of the car stamped on it what ever it is I will make sure you see a picture soon with the matching numbers of the car
I tried to post this before, and it was deleted. Those “original carbs” are Webers. So, not “original “. Solexes came with the cars. There is no way that changing carbs to other than dual Solexes or Mikunis, would improve upon those Webers. Many have tried . And it appears to be a single carb.
@Benzlover23 I will call you tomorrow no problem
I am interested in the Mercedes please feel free to give me a call 954-849-8233 geno

@Samir Thank you for quick response. Will wait for those pictures.
@ancheyev sorry I forgot to hit the reply but I hope I answered your questions
hey How are you , I’m taking it to a mechanic shop Monday so I can left it up and take pictures also the battery was down when I got back , I’m gona test it and see if it need to be changed we had a very cold weather and it’s been setting I. The garage , as for rust the for undercarriage is very solid I saw little rust by the shocks and the arms but not in the floor or body, but as I said Monday I will make sure to get all the requested pictures and videos done no problem. Thank you
Hello there. I did not find any photos of the undercarriage. Could you please provide. Does it have any rust? Thank you
@Coachmule thank you
@Samir I had a very long EC meeting today I can reach out and help you with the top I’ve owned 5 and this will be my last one if I’m Lucky enough.
@Coachmule I tried calling you today and left a voicemail to the number you gave me to set up ppi .
@Coachmule How are you Coach Here’s what I have for you to answer all your concerns, The car to my knowledge came with both soft and hardtop, I tried to put the soft top on the day we took the pictures I didn’t know how, I could try again for you, As for the videos you requested as soon as I get back in town I will be more than happy to make them for you and all the bidders no problem, just give me a day or 2. The previous owner has changed the carburetors he said it give the engine better airflow and more horsepower, but I do have the original parts that came off the car and they will come with the car. As for the ppi you are more than welcome at any time . If you have any more questions or concerns please don’t hesitate. Thank you again
Why are there no pictures with the soft top completely up? Roadster in these cars meant they didn’t come with a soft top. I bought a 56 that the hard too was on and the soft top although new hadn’t been up in 30 years. It wouldn’t stretch out. Drive video? Top on video showing the top although manual how it connects if it does connect? Cold start video ? I’d like to schedule a PPI any objections? Why did you remove the original carburetors? I’m a serious buyer and looking for a daily driver to cars and coffee and work on Fridays. Past buyer and owned 5 of these looking for my last one to sit in the garage next to my 60 Impala convertible 100% NOS thank you in advance
