This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Blue Green Metallic (877) over Beige Leather (275) and shows only 53k miles from new. The car was reportedly sold new in February 1990 by L.P. Evans Motors Mercedes-Benz in Miami, Florida and has spent the majority of it's time in Massachusetts followed by California beginning in 2021. Power is provided by a 5.6-liter M117 V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a paint-matched removable hardtop, a folding black soft top, 15” Gullideckel wheels, rear kinder seats, automatic climate control, an original Becker radio, and an automatic power antenna. Extensive service was performed in April 2021 including subframe mounts, engine mounts, transmission mounts, fuel injectors, spark plugs, a brake fluid flush and more. This classic roadster is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer in Burlingame, California with a hardtop stand, battery tender, original tool roll, two sets of floor mats, partial service records, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
The exterior is finished in Blue Green Metallic (877) with chrome brightwork accenting the window trim, beltline and bumpers. Auxiliary marker lights and fog lamps are mounted to the front bumper. The black soft top shows in excellent condition with clear windows. The paint-matched removable hardtop features an electrically-heated rear window. The paint presents well with no signs of rust and retains a deep shine.
Fitted are the factory 15” Gullideckel wheels which wear Michelin Premier A/S tires measuring 205/65 all around with 2018 date codes. The wheels are in excellent condition with silver-painted OEM center caps. A full-size spare is mounted under the trunk floor along with the factory jack and tool roll.
The cabin is trimmed in Beige Leather (275) with Burl Walnut wood trim accenting the center console and dash. The wood trim shows well without blemish or fading. Interior features include rear kinder seats, automatic climate control with air conditioning, an automatic power antenna, the original Becker Grand Prix head unit, a folding center armrest and a functional outside temperature indicator mounted in the dash. The seller notes the power adjustable passenger side door mirror only adjusts left and right. The dash shows no cracks and the leather remains in excellent condition. A new A/C compressor was fitted in 2021 and the A/C and heat both are in proper working order. A new set of OEM floor mats and spare aftermarket set will be included.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer with other instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer, fuel level and economy indicators, coolant temperature, oil pressure and an analog clock. The six-digit odometer currently shows just over 53k miles. Controls for the cruise control are mounted to the steering column.
This R107 roadster is powered by a 5.6-liter M117 which is factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. A major service in April 2021 included new engine mounts, transmission mounts, subframe mounts, fuel injectors, spark plugs, intakee plenum boots, a brake fluid flush, and new A/C compressor. The seller notes that all body number tags are in place and all bolts around the hood, doors, fenders, and deck lid are undisturbed from new.
The Carfax report shows linear mileage updates, along with no accidents or damage reports since new. Partial service records are included along with a briefcase from the original selling dealer. This final year model 560SL is now offered with a hardtop stand, battery tender, original tool roll, two sets of floor mats, a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.

Final day to own this attractive 1989 560SL. This is a nicely documented SL that has had some important recent reconditioning. Being finished in blue green metallic sets it apart from all other 560SLs. The car comes with all the documents shown in the listing including a new set of floor mats, a top caddy, handbooks and tools. This SL will be sold as-is with no warranty implied or otherwise. The car is stored in Burlingame CA, 5 minutes south of SFO. In the case of an out of state buyer, I can keep the car safe until pickup by the new owner’s trucking contact. Bidders should refresh their browsers regularly during the last minutes of the auction to insure they see the most recent bids. And for those new to the bidding process, it’s important to know that any bid placed within the last 2 minutes of the auction resets the auction clock to 2 minutes. Good luck to all!

TheGerman Thanks for the note. Yes, AC is R134. There have been misc. paint repairs to keep the car looking fresh over the years. Please look at all the images in the photo essay. There are 22 service repair order copies shown at the end of the photo essay. Images 153 and 155 reflect the latest service. All invoices are present. All body tags are in place and not one door hinge bolt, front fender bolt or deck lid bolt has been disturbed. Hope this helps.

Welcome all to my 560SL auction. I invite you to look carefully at all the images I provided and especially the maintenance documents. A number of important 560SL inspections and repairs were performed by Nick's Mercedes in 2001 which give the next owner confidence in the car's fitness. Feel free to contact me with any questions. It's a beautifully driving SL and everyone responds to the fabulous color. The car can be inspected at my gallery in Burlingame, CA - 5 minutes south of SFO. Pre-purchase inspections are available locally.
