This long-wheelbase diesel is finished in Midnight Blue (904) with matching lower cladding and bumpers. Equipment includes a sliding sunroof with tilt function, headlight wipers, and factory yellow fog lights. The windshield and all windows remain factory original from new. The seller notes some surface corrosion on the lower driver side corner of the rear window along with other details including imperfections on the chrome bumper trim highlighted in the gallery. Under prior ownership, the car was fully repainted in the factory Midnight Blue color and the seller had the roof repainted to correct a scratch.
The OM603 3.5-liter turbodiesel inline-six was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. Service under current ownership has been performed at Mercedes-Benz dealerships and by Pierre Hedary. Work includes guide rod replacement, steering inspection and drag link replacement, prechambers, chambers and injectors cleaning, a new vacuum pump, new glow plugs, new front brake calipers and hoses, front and rear brake pads, and a transmission service. Approximately 1,500 miles ago an oil and filter change was performed along with a new battery installed.

Congratulations to the winner! Thank you and thanks to all the bidders and all of you who submitted your comments!
Nice car, and entirely deserving of a new home. Really, rather a good deal at this figure.

I was the second owner of this car. I bought it when I worked for Mercedes-Benz Research and Development when we were in Montvale. We'd frequently go on test drives and I'd use the opportunity to check out interesting cars for sale. This was a great find! The original owner was selling it because he had severe back issues in his later years and could only get in and out of an SUV. I really enjoyed owning and driving this car. The last model year of the W126 is certainly the most refined and the engine is excellent with great throttle response off the line. Pierre helped me sell the car and continued its excellent maintenance for its current owner. Good luck everyone!

No question this one has been owned by a fellow diesel lover and true MB enthusiast. Anyone who has their car serviced by Pierre Hedary is in the know. Love seeing cars like with proper maintenance and care.

Kudos to the MB Market writers for pointing out how desirable and increasingly rare the Midnight Blue/Palomino color combination is. I have two W126s in the exact same colors (an '84 300SD and a grey market '85 500SEL, both two-tone with the Matt Gray Metallic bumpers and lower cladding), and selling them is a very hard decision to make for that reason. Whoever wins this won't be disappointed with how sharp the car will always look. Opting for Euro-spec lighting and bumpers would take this car even further to the next level.
@Gas007 Thanks for your question. I do not know why it was repainted before my ownership, but the car does not have signs of any prior accidents. As to the quality of the paint job, I am not expert but would say that it is not bad, though it accumulated a fair amount or swirl marks that a good detailer should be able to address. The main issues are shown in the photos to the best of my ability. This was my daily driver (as well as the prior owner’s) so I did not pay so much attention to cosmetics but rather focused on its mechanical condition, as documented.
Do you know why the vehicle has had a complete respray? Was it due to accident? Also how is the quality of the respray? Thanks in advance

@nvanmali95 I took a picture of the trunk lid (#107) but not further inside. Will try to take one and share. I can tell you though that there is no rust neither in the ceiling nor the walls or bottom of the trunk. Only rust is exterior left side as pictured. Will add more photos of the trunk
Do you have a picture of the trunk side of the parcel shelf or the ceiling of the trunk?
@pilotbrother2003 Good eye! It is a slice of the blade’s rubber that got loose. I removed it already. Both headlights blades are working
On photo 19, the passenger side, is that the wiper blade that's gone off on it's on on the headlamp or just a piece of debris?
A walk around and cold start video have been added to the listing.
@nvanmali95 sure! Videos will be posted soon.
Could we get some driving videos, walk arounds, and a cold start please? Thanks

@Kevinbriem Indeed! He is great and a living encyclopedia about classic Mercedes and their mechanics
Wish I lived closer to Florida. Pierre is the real deal.
@Kevinbriem Correct! As you know leaks are common in those engines. Pierre Hedary work on it. Thanks!
@smarcilese, was there a particular reason for replacing the prechambers? Were they leaking? Not a fun job. Guide rod service is a huge bonus on the 603.970 engine Great car
Hi! I am the seller and will be happy to answer any questions. Thank you!

@Kevinbriem Hahah. This is such a great comment 😂. I hope you get it, Kevin....then you can drive it past your ex-wife's house in style 😎 This is such a nice W126, and well presented too. Good Luck to the seller!
I can't believe it...its back again! With some significant work done. Wow, I'm dying here. My wife put the hammer down on this last go around...now I dont have a wife. I'm almost done with some injection pump and suspension work on a '99 E300td, now this happens. I just parted with a solid W124 and promised to keep the fleet down to a minimum. I still regret selling my graphite grey one like this and for those who haven't driven one of these...your missing a true Mercedes experience. At least I have 12 days to make a decision.
