For many, the W124 is considered one of the best constructed sedans of all time sporting impossibly good build quality, timeless styling and an impeccable ride. Logically, the S124 carries over the same qualities to form one of the greatest wagons as well. This later model example should prove to be quite the driver for an educated buyer. The M104 delivers adequate power in a smooth straight-six package while maintaining an old-school mechanical simplicity that lends itself to reliability and easy maintenance. Mercedes wagons have always commanded a premium over their sedan counterparts due to rarity and utility, but frankly put, they're just cool. While some won't see the potential, other enthusiasts will see an affordable entry into the S124 longroof space.
