This 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL550 was purchased new at Critz Mercedes-Benz of Savannah, GA in 2007 and was later again sold to the Vice President of jet manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace as a Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz by the same dealership for over $52,000 in 2011. It was then traded in to the same original Mercedes-Benz dealership where it was purchased by the current owner in 2019. The roadster is finished in Iridium Silver Metallic (775) over Almond (215) leather and powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a body-color retractable hardtop with glass panoramic roof, Distronic radar-guided cruise control, Parktronic park assist, Keyless-Go, multi-contour heated and ventilated seats with memory control, Sirius satellite radio, Bi-Xenon head lamps w/Cornering Illumination, Active Body Control suspension, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose premium audio system and much more. Service since 2020 includes new front brake rotors and pads, new ABC pulsation damper, coolant cap, starter battery, spark plugs, trunk lock actuator, oil filter housing, power steering damper, starter motor, engine mounts, top hydraulic lines, passenger SAM unit, and a Keyless-Go Driver’s-side door handle. The ABC tandem pump was also previously replaced along with an ABC service/flush/diagnosis, and a new transmission mount & transmission service were performed. The Carfax shows only three owners and registration history exclusive to the Savannah, GA area. This R230 SL550 now shows 136k miles and is offered on behalf of the seller’s father in Georgia with extensive dealer service history, a VMI, a decade of dealer service records, manufacturer’s literature, a custom-fitted Covercraft Pro car cover, a tool kit, two fob keys, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Bright Silver/Iridium Silver Metallic (775) and features a power-retractable hardtop with glass panoramic roof fitted with a retractable sunshade and an automatically deploying roll bar. Service records indicate the top hydraulics were rebuilt and the hydraulic lines were replaced in 2020. Additional exterior equipment includes fender and hood vents, Bi-Xenon head lamps w/Cornering Illumination, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets with polished tips. The seller notes that the rear bumper cover was touched up to remediate a scratch which was reported on the Carfax as “minor damage” in 2019. The rest of the paintwork is believed to be all original and paint meter readings in the gallery confirm consistent depths throughout.
Ten-spoke 18″ wheels are mounted with Continental ContiProContact tires measuring 255/40 up front and 285/35 out back showing 2018 date codes. The front left wheel was refinished by the selling dealership in 2021 to remediate curb rash. The car features an Active Body Control suspension system, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with cross-drilled front rotors. The front brake pads and rotors were replaced in 2021, the ABC pulsation damper was replaced in 2020 and the ABC tandem pump was replaced in 2015 along with a full ABC service. The suspension operates flawlessly with no sagging or leaks according to the seller and recent dealer service records viewble in the gallery.
The cabin features power-adjustable seats upholstered in Almond (215) leather and joined by a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. Burl walnut trim adorns the steering wheel, shifter, center console, and door panels. Additional amenities include Distronic radar-guided cruise control, Parktronic park assist, Keyless-Go, multi-contour heated and ventilated seats with memory control, Sirius satellite radio, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose premium audio system, and a trunk mounted OEM CD changer. The roadster is fitted with OEM Mercedes-Benz Rubber Hex-Mats in both the driver and passenger footwells. Close-up photos of a small imperfection in the passenger seat is viewable in the gallery below.
The multifunction wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, two inset digital display screens, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 136k miles.
The all-aluminum 5.5-liter M273 V8 features four valves per cylinder and was rated at 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new. Recent service includes new front brake rotors and pads, coolant cap, starter battery, spark plugs, trunk lock actuator, oil filter housing, power steering damper, starter motor, engine mounts, top hydraulic lines, passenger SAM unit, Keyless-Go Driver’s-side door handle, ABC tandem pump & ABC service/flush/diagnosis, and a new transmission mount & service.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed Speedshift automatic transmission which can be up or downshifted manually via the shifter in the center console. The transmission mount was replaced and a full transmission service was performed as per the dealer service records in the gallery. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax report indicates no accidents and lists history exclusive to the metro Savannah, Georgia area. A VMI, extensive dealer service records, manufacturer’s literature, a custom-fitted Covercraft Pro car cover, a tool kit, OEM rubber Hex-Mats, and two fob keys are included with the sale.

This is a crazy good bargain at this price. 15mins left and not even close to the $15k amount paid in preventative maintenance by the seller. I may have to bid on this just out of principle...haha
Less than an hour to go on this truly excellent SL. Thanks to all of those who have reached out to me directly with questions. I'll be standing by to answer questions here for the remainder of the auction. Good luck and Happy Bidding!

Nice example here. There's way more value in a car thats been driven and maintained than a lower-mile one that will need all that work in the future. I'd be bidding on this one if I didn't have an R230 already! Good luck to seller

Got it, thanks!
Hi Everyone. Just wanted to say a little bit about this awesome SL to any interested bidders. This car has truly been maintained with an "open checkbook" by my father during his ownership. As you can see from the records, anytime the car needed any service or preventative maintenance it was taken directly to the dealer (even for smaller/cosmetic items like a curbed wheel). The records from the prior owner (as well as the VMI) indicate the same was true for prior owners as well. The car operates beautifully and he's only selling now because he purchased a new Mercedes wagon for daily driving duty. @chdavis - I took a few more pictures of the infotainment screen and will have The MB Market upload them to the gallery today. There's a small amount of partial fade on the LCD but the orange/discoloration you noted from the photo in the gallery is definitely a weird angle. Everything on the infotainment/Nav screen works as intended. I hope the additional photos will help clarify that for you and any other bidders. Please feel free to reach out with any comments or questions and I'll be happy to assist however I can. Again, this is a very clean and extremely well-maintained example with all the right options for the period. Thanks and Good Luck!

@chdavis Thanks for your question. I believe that's just the camera angle. The infotainment screen/navigation operates just fine. The LCD is not quite as bright as it was when the car was brand new, obviously, but not distorted like that photo makes it appear. I'll try to snap some additional photos of it this weekend and have them added to the listing to clear up any confusion. Thanks!
what’s going on with the nav display? I see it’s discolored or perhaps it’s the angle. Kindly clarify.
