The cabin is finished in Stone Nappa Leather (805) accented by Burled Walnut Veneer across the door cards, center console, shift knob, and steering wheel. Dual gauge binnacles house a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer showing an original 8k miles. Ancillary gauges show coolant temperature and fuel level while the LCD display shows trip, media, navigation, and cluster settings.
The 5.5-liter M273 V8 was factory-rated at 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission with a manual shift mode that can be operated via paddles on the steering wheel or through the speedshift option on the shift lever. The included Carfax report shows 10 service history records from new and the most recent inspection and service from March-April 2026. This service included new air filters, new batteries (starter and axiliary), a brake fluid flush, a differential flush and service, a new drain plug gasket, new drive belts and an idler pulley, new spark plugs, an ABC suspension service, new roof hydraulics, and a transmission service and flush.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists linear mileage updates since new along with documented service records. This specific SL is tough to argue with....We have a car that's been welll preserved in what could be the best color offered for this car. As an owner of a 09 SL63 AMG I would like to add my thoughts. I love this version of the R230 platform in Mars Red with extra bits such as the AMG sports package/rear spoiler (which I could not find in the 2009 SL brochure), MB car cover, MB front license frame, etc. This car needs to be purchased by someone who will put miles on it. More miles, more appreciation for what it can do. The difference between an SL550 and an SL63 will not be noticed by 98% of folks at car shows, valets at the local steakhouse, at the Golf club - or by the new owner unless they want to track it or are looking to accumulate speeding tickets. The upside is it should be easier and less costly to maintain than an SL63. Virtually in new condition that originally sold for almost 3X the median US vehicle price -- with a current bid about 1/2 the median vehicle price today. While the ABC system was working flawlessly, it was inspected up close and properly serviced by Mercedes specialists for the next owner’s peace of mind. All roof hydraulic components were replaced preemptively, along with new spark plugs, fresh belts, full fluid services, filters, and both batteries. The idea was simple: make it right, not just make it look right. The car is photographed (and videoed—video coming in the next few days) wearing its factory-installed Michelin Pilot tires, which says a lot about how it’s been kept.
