The car is being relisted after it was offered for auction in October 2022 and did not meet the reserve. It's finished in Obsidian Black (197) over a Black Leather (801) interior and powered by a 4.7-liter bi-turbo V8 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-retractable hardtop with a glass roof, the AMG styling package, bi-xenon headlights, climatized seats with Airscarf, Keyless-Go, navigation, Parktronic, Distronic Plus, and illuminated door sills. Service records show consistent service since new. This SL is now offered by the current owner in Virginia showing 42k miles with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, two keys, and a clean Virginia title.

Dual gauge binnacles house a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a digital odometer showing 42k miles. Ancillary gauges show coolant temperature and fuel level while the LCD display shows trip, media, navigation, and cluster settings.
The 4.7-liter M278 bi-turbo V8 was factory-rated at 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with a manual shift mode that can be operated via paddles on the steering wheel or through the speedshift option on the shift lever.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists linear mileage updates since new along with documented service records and safety checks. Reading the records, it appears that the car was listed for sale in November 2015 in Virginia, but that you acquired it in September 2016. I am just looking for some validation that it was indeed purchased by you that September. Carfax can be tricky. Also, there is a “50k Service” in the records that was done a few years ago, at thirty-something thousand miles. Do you have any details of what this service entailed and/or if it was done as an element of preventative maintenance?
