This 1998 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG is one of just 579 examples produced for the US market that year and one of just over 1,100 examples produced in total for the United States. The owner purchased the car in 2021 and has logged over 6k miles since purchasing. The C43 is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) over a Silver and Black (588) Nappa Leather interior, and power comes from a swapped 5.4-liter AMG M113 V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes heated and 10-way power-adjustable and heated sport seats, 18” AMG Monoblock wheels, H&R sport springs, Bilstein shocks, xenon headlamps, an upgraded stereo, a rain-sensing mono-wiper, heated windscreen washer system, and a power glass sunroof. The owner reports thorough maintenance records dating more than a decade prior to ownership will be included in the sale with recent maintenance including a new AC system, new engine and transmission mounts, new valve cover gaskets, new spark plugs, an oil service, a new cabin air filter, a cleaning of the mass air flow sensor, and engine air filter. This C43 is now offered by the current owner with service records, two keys, manufacturer's literature, an included Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The exterior is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and features an original sculpted AMG body kit with more aggressive styling on the front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron. Additional features included xenon headlights with a headlamp wipers, fog lights, a rain-sensing mono-wiper, and a power tilting and sliding sunroof. Detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery below with noted flaws including light rock chips on the nose of the car, a paint chip just below the hood ornament, and spotting clear coat on the roof.
Staggered 18” AMG Monoblock wheels are finished in silver with machined lips and wear OEM center caps with chrome logos. The wheels are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires and suspension has been upgraded to Bilstein shocks and H&R Sport springs. The brakes have also been upgraded and are from a CLK55 AMG.
The interior is trimmed in a Silver and Black (588) Nappa Leather interior with a black leather steering wheel and door panels. Burl walnut trim accents the dashboard, doors, and center console with fading shown in multiple areas. Amenities include power-adjustable and heated front seats, automatic climate control, auto-dimming mirrors, and an upgraded stereo with a Bluetooth-capable head unit in the dashboard. Mercedes-Benz all-weather mats are shown for each seat in the front and rear.
White AMG instrument dials include a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts display the time and outside temperature while the digital odometer shows 142k miles on the chassis. All pixels and backlighting function as intended and can be seen in the gallery.
The original AMG-tuned 4.3-liter M113 V8 was replaced with a 5.4L AMG M113 V8 in 2012. The engine now reportedly has 130k miles on it and recent maintenance under the owners care includes a new AC system, new engine and transmission mounts, new valve cover gaskets, new spark plugs, an oil service, a new cabin air filter, a cleaning of the mass air flow sensor, and engine air filter. Records showing more than a decade of ownership are included with the car. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Additional pictures of the underside are available in the gallery below.
The Carfax report lists 27 service history records and an accident to the front left in 2010 and minor damage reported to the right side of the car in 2016. This C43 is now offered by the current owner with service records, two keys, manufacturer's literature, and a clean Florida title.

@Johnny it occurred before my ownership, but it seems like something hit the bottom of the car due to how low it is
Curious to know what that patch in on the undercarriage beneath where the driver sits.

@JoeVair the car has no noises when driving, the car maintains consistent level of engine heat (never gets over 90), the trans has 0 issues and no problems with the ECU. The car has been running on the 5.4 for 10 years and has been maintained meticulously by myself and the previous 2 owners.

Any noises coming from diff? Is cooling system adequate? Has trans. ever defaulted to limp mode? Any compatibility issues with ECU?
i have lusted over this swap for a few years now. Both times have not been the best timing for me. This car looks like a blast and I'm hoping 3rd times a charm for me. Good luck to both parties.
