@Shark07747, 1989-91 are my favorite MB years-have a 1990 and 1991 SEC. Just really like anything from that era.
@refusedname: thank you for clarifying the paint readings. Also notice maybe some paint bubbling at the base of front windshield pillars near the hood. Maybe add some closeups. Your explanation of the Japanese saline environment explains a lot. The black instrument frame has the white corrosion small pox. Easily fixed with Matt black spray paint-we see this in Florida cars commonly.
@refusedname, thank you for the disclosure. Can you comment on what two panels had the really high readings. One looked like a quarter panel at 34.7 and one looked like the trunk at 33 which is much higher than the other panels at around 6-7mils
Thank you for the paint readings. What panel has the really high readings? I am guessing the trunk with the spoiler? Do we know what color the car was originally delivered in? Was the repaint to change color or do refresh old paint?

Thanks for the paint meter readings-can you post door jamb readings as a reference. It looks like the car has had some body work in a couple of sports. It would be great to get the car up on a lift and post photos of the under body. There is definitely some rust-can’t tell if there is any structural issues with it. It would be awesome to put the factory jack into the those rusty jack points and lift the car to demonstrate the soundness of the rocker corners that do show some rust. Can’t tell if it is just surface rust.
