This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC is finished in Astral Silver (735) over Red leather (207) and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. As a Canadian market example, the car was sold new in Vancouver, BC where it remained with the original owner until 2019. Factory equipment includes a sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows, Bundt wheels, and a Becker Mexico cassette stereo. Service in November 2021 included a full tune up consisting of new filters, caps, rotors, plugs, and wires. Now showing 120k kilometers (~75k miles), this 450SLC is now offered in Toronto with manufacturer’s literature, recent service, the original key, and a clean Ontario, Canada title.
The car is finished in Astral Silver (735G) and features North American-market chrome bumpers and headlights. The paint is reported to be in excellent condition with no major blemishes noted. Equipment includes a sunroof, fog lights, and chrome bodyside moldings and rocker panel trim. The rear bumper chrome shows a slight dent on the top ledge and detailed photos of the exterior can be seen in the gallery.

Richard, now that the snow should have melted in Ontario; I would like to discuss the possible purchase of the 450SLC. I would fly to Toronto in August, drive north to Magnetawan and then drive home to Atlanta. I assume with some preparation the car should be comfortable with those miles. Thanks, Richard Denny

Despite the lack of records the engine bay does look extremely clean, I'll give you that
Hello What are the dates on the tires please
@MBstyle A lot of Small/Local body shops do not report to Carfax and as I mention earlier people who work on classic Mercedes are usually older generation who run the local shops. Now with that being said, just because there are no reports of maintenance and services does not mean regular maintenance and services where not done. If you believe that not having receipts for oil changes and regular maintenances means you can not trust the car, then I completely understand! The way I bought the car was through 100's of pictures and a lot of strong communication with the previous owner. If the description, pictures and Km/Miles is not enough for you. Then I completely understand! thanks for your interest!
@Richardmartis, no reports of inspectios , maintenance, ? No matter where the car is stocked at the moment. Its a great car , but some docs should show, no?..
@MBstyle I appreciate your honesty. But I thought I mentioned that this vehicle is too old for a Carfax. CarFax are only available on all used cars and light trucks from model year 1981 or later. THEREFORE, a Carfax is not available for this 1979! As far as a vehicle inspection goes I will not be able to get an inspector for another few weeks, as I mentioned before, the car is located in a heated garage that is blocked by snow! Anyways thanks for your bid! Sorry for any "Regret" you may have.
@Richardmartins, in some points i regret to have made this high open start bidding. Not even carfax is showed up not even inspection reports are shown. Its a nice car , but … sorry. Wish i could ….
@Horsepwr4me Air conditioning and heat are both in working order, and was not aware of such recall from Mercedes so no.
@Classic4life Hello! Car is fully Original with original paint. The front fenders were repainted due to someone over buffing and leaving the panels dull. The front and rear seats are both Original and both is pristine condition!
@MBstyle Hello Everybody, sorry for the delayed responses! Pictures and a compression test will be a little hard to do right now considering the cars location. It is currently in my backyard heated garage that is surrounded by about 2 feet of snow. But I can assure you the Engine is fully mechanically sound (0 issues).
Does the heat and air conditioning work properly with air changing through different vents? Has the front subframe been reinforced with welded brackets as recalled by Mercedes’?

Beautiful car. I have this (US spec) in same exterior color but with black interior(1976). I just recently took it out on a drive to the airport and back and fell in love all over again. Until you have driven an SLC on the highway versus a 107 short wheelbase SL, you can’t fully appreciate what the SLC is all about. Close up instrument photos as well as a few more detailed interior photos (as requested below) would definitely provide a tad more confidence by potential bidders. Love the photos so far and no doubt the additional details and interaction/participation from the current owner will provide for a great auction.
Yes please, more pictures will give us more confidence. Refs to the paint and seats, are they original? Is the paint original paint or has been repainted before ??? I can see the back seat looks original, how about the front leather seats ?? Pictures of front seats are not clear enough. Thanks.
