This 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300E 3.4 AMG was ordered in new Japan as a left-hand drive example and modified by AMG Japan. Finished in Pine Green Metallic (254) over Black Leather (261), power is provided by a bored and stroked 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a 722.3 four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Additional AMG upgrades include Recaro Classic seats, 17" AMG Aero III wheels, an AMG M38 steernig wheel, AMG suspension, AMG exhaust, and a 300km/h gauge cluster. The car was imported in May 2020 and the seller acquired the car from the original importer in May 2021. Service upon import included all fresh fluids, new tires, engine mounts, transmission mounts, control arms and bump stops. In preparation for the sale, the car received a fresh oil change, air filter, battery, A/C service, and brake fluid flush. Now showing 110k kilometers (~68k miles) from new, this 300E 3.4 AMG is offered for sale with manufacturer's literature, AMG owner's manual, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
The bodywork is finished in Pine Green Metallic (254) with all painted chrome including the grille, side molding, and bumper impact strips. Exterior equipment includes Euro-spec headlights with integrated fog lights, a power-adjustable passenger door mirror, Euro front fender turn signals, an automatic antenna, and central locking. No signs of rust are present on the body. Twin AMG exhaust tips are seen exiting the rear. The rear window features a Yanase sticker, a Japanese dealer known for specializing in premerger AMG vehicles, along with an original AMG sticker.
The paint-matched 3-piece 17” AMG Aero III wheels feature original OZ Racing hardware and were resealed in May 2025. BF Goodrich G-Force Comp2 A/S tires are mounted which measure 215/45 up front and 235/45 in the rear. ASR slip control and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes are fitted as standard. The AMG suspension includes white springs and Bilstein shocks. New control arms and bump stops were installed in 2021. A brake fluid flush was performed in September 2025.
The interior is upholstered in Black Leather (261) and features front power-adjustable Recaro Classic seats which come with their original literature. Burl Walnut wood trim adorns the center console, gear selector, dashboard, and door panels. Additional interior appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, a power-adjustable passenger side mirror, rear headrests, a trunk mounted CD player, and a Panasonic head unit. The steering wheel has been upgraded with a Momo M38 exclusively for AMG and an AMG plaque is located on the ash tray cover.
The M38 AMG leather steering wheel fronts an AMG-specific white-face gauge cluster with a central 300-km/h speedometer along with an 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 110k km from new, approximately 68k miles.
The original 3.0-liter M104 inline-six was bored and stroked to 3.4 liters by AMG in Japan and fitted with custom AMG camshafts which help the engine produce 268 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Service upon import in late 2020/early 2021 included all fresh fluids, new tires, engine mounts, transmission mounts, control arms and bump stops. In preparation for the sale, the seller performed a full service on the car which included a top off of all fluids, an oil and filter change, new air filter, new battery, a brake fluid flush and bleed at all calipers, and an A/C R134 recharge. A new hood pad was installed in 2022. The AMG exhaust is stamped and made by Sebring with authentic period correct tips. AMG stickers denoting the engine modifications are found on the valve cover and radiator support.
The car comes with service records under the seller's care. Underbody photos showing the AMG suspension and exhaust are provided in the gallery. The Carfax report shows first entry upon import into the United States in September 2020 and an entry from the seller's acquisition in May 2021. This 3.4 AMG is now offered with manufacturer's literature, AMG owner's manual and leather cover, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.
Videos below show driving footage, a cold start, interior view, and walk around of the car.
Perhaps the most bang-for-your-buck to be had today in the collector car world, the W124 AMG's have become widely recognized as some of the best AMG builds to ever be produced. The premerger era of AMG was the wild west of tuning and produced some of the most interesting cars. AMG developed the legendary Hammer 6.0L version of this car which was record-breaking at the time, beating even the most exotic of sports cars. This unique W124 3.4L was built by AMG Japan and comes in a stunning Pine Green Metallic paint and paint-matched multi-piece OZ Aero III wheels, an AMG gauge cluster, AMG exhaust, AMG suspension, additional interior wood, Momo M38 steering wheel, and Recaro Classic seats. The bored and stroked 3.4-liter M104 delivers an impressive 268 horsepower in a time when other straight sixes struggled to break 200. Interestingly, this car was ordered without the AMG body kit making it a top tier sleeper. Ordering perfomance enhanced AMG's without the body kit was suprisingly popular in period. No matter the owners preference, you could check as many or as little boxes in the AMG catalog as your heart desired, or as your wallet could afford. As collectors fine tune their appetite today, color has become one of the strongest determination of value; and rightfully so. We wouldn't mind if all of our cars were Pine Green. From the sleeper status to the well-appointed interior and beefed up 3.4 under the hood, this W124 AMG required taste and style to own.

I bought the 300E from Dean on BAT recently and can’t stress enough how exceptional and rare these cars are. Love the color on this beaut. Will be watching the bidding on this 😉I have a manual German market one of these so will not be bidding but have to say that a better, more helpful seller, I have not seen. Wish all sellers we so transparent. Good luck with the sale and bidding. great looking carPhotos of the engine block stamp have been added to the gallery along with 3 videos.Driving video https://youtube.com/shorts/bFmRrDf__d0?si=NFErzHGK3iGMIMSj Cold start and Interior Video https://youtube.com/shorts/qIX2uIPXnUU?si=xnek8R8-D5yla2Iu Paint Condition Video https://youtu.be/zc5fVCCSG10?si=PRZibadtk5MyP-9R Have fun)@refusedname haha ok great so its got the correct engine 😀. Thank you !@Youngclassicamg, I was able to take the actual photograph of the engine number and sent it to MB Market Team to add to the listing. The number on the engine block matches the paperwork I have for the E34 AMG. Thank you for helping me to locate it. I cheated though, Bernard from @patinacollective sent me a detailed video on how to look for it😀$20,000 bid placed by @Granger
Additional photos have been added to the gallery.@Abby87426, I sent in pictures of multiple pages of service records from Japan that came with the car in the AMG folder (pictures of the folder attached separately). I hope that helps. Thank you@Youngclassicamg, I sent a picture of the document from Japan that looks like a data card. It shows the engine number 104980 12 011023 you were asking about.@Saildoc, I sent in correct pictures of the paint measurements. All panels measure 9 - 11 mm Also, per your request, I took close up pictures of the pillars by the windshield. There is zero paint bubbling or any other inconsistencies. MB Market will upload new pictures tomorrowAdditional paint meter readings have been added to the gallery.@refusedname: thank you for clarifying the paint readings. Also notice maybe some paint bubbling at the base of front windshield pillars near the hood. Maybe add some closeups. Your explanation of the Japanese saline environment explains a lot. The black instrument frame has the white corrosion small pox. Easily fixed with Matt black spray paint-we see this in Florida cars commonly.@refusedname you should not need a mirror its pretty visible@Saildoc, I was not paying attention to gauge measurements you are referring to. I will retake them today when I'm with the car. I have to verify it. Most likely it's a mistake. Thank you@refusedname, thank you for the disclosure. Can you comment on what two panels had the really high readings. One looked like a quarter panel at 34.7 and one looked like the trunk at 33 which is much higher than the other panels at around 6-7mils@Abby87426, I didn't write the description for the listing. We photographed every brochure and manual that came with the car. I will visit the car tomorrow in the effort to read the serial number off the engine block and check for the AMG service manual for you. Thank you@Youngclassicamg, so do I need to have a Inspection Telescopic Mirror to see it?@Saildoc, looks like the roof measured at 3.34 all other panels, hood, trunk, doors and fenders came back at about 9.5 I checked with the importer that I purchased the car from, he confirmed that the car was repainted in Japan by the previous owner. 1. Japan’s climate and environment High humidity, acid rain, and UV exposure (especially in coastal cities like Yokohama or Osaka) cause clear coat failure, fading, and oxidation even on garaged cars. Japanese roads are often near the ocean, so salt air accelerates paint deterioration. Owners often repainted to restore appearance, not due to damage. 2. Cultural emphasis on aesthetics and “like-new” condition In Japan, there’s a strong cultural value on clean, flawless presentation — dents, chips, and fading are seen as signs of neglect. Owners (and dealers) routinely resprayed panels or entire cars to make them appear “fresh,” even when mechanically untouched. 3. Factory paint quality of the era Even premium European brands in the 1980s–1990s didn’t use modern clear-coat UV protection. After 30+ years in Japan’s climate, original finishes aged poorly unless meticulously cared for. In short: Most Japanese-market classics were repainted not because of accidents, but because of Japan’s humidity, resale culture, and high cosmetic standards.@Saildoc, the original paint color is Pine Green Metallic (254U) Here is the link to the information on a Data Card: https://www.lastvin.com/vin/az1nGEyxX1gdxv67Thank you for the paint readings. What panel has the really high readings? I am guessing the trunk with the spoiler? Do we know what color the car was originally delivered in? Was the repaint to change color or do refresh old paint? The car is reported to have been repainted under prior ownership in Japan and paint meter readings have been added to the gallery.$17,500 bid placed by @CheckEngineSoon
@refusedname it will be on the engine block on the passenger side right by the motor mount you will be able to see it from the top standing by the mirror and looking down sometimes they will be covered in oil and grime so may need a wipe down. You can also see it if you have the car on a lift. The listing has an AMG service manual included. Is that correct?$17,000 bid placed by @PricklyPearAutoClub
@Olyfour, I don't believe so but I'm not a 100% sure. Thank youMany of the OEM 104 engine cars also had front and rear air cooled brakes, does this one have them too?Oh my, me likey! The buyer of this will make me green with envy (sorry, had to go there)@youngclassicamg, no problem. Please let me know where it is so I can take a picture of it. Thank yougreat looking car , can you post the picture of the engine serial number@saildoc, I will take paint meter pics tomorrow, no problem. Thank youHello. Cool car. Is it possible for the seller to post some paint depth readings?$15,000 bid placed by @pillestein
Hello MB Market community, Welcome to my MB Market auction of this rare AMG E34 (W124) This car has never been repainted under my ownership, and there are no signs of any prior accidents. It’s fully serviced, with no warning lights on the dash — all power options function properly. The only non-operative item is the radio, while the A/C blows cold. The suspension feels exceptionally tight, and the car drives noticeably better than a stock W124. I own nearly every version of the W124 chassis except for the 7.3 Brabus, so I speak from experience — this E34 truly embodies what pre-merger AMG stood for in the 1980s: precision, balance, and performance ahead of its time. The car needs nothing at the moment other than a working radio and can easily be enjoyed as a daily driver. Happy bidding! Greg @Garage90xThe E500board police is here 😀😀. Good catch @gsxr. I will take care of it this week! Thank youLove that greenOh my god I love this.$5,000 bid placed by @LincolnAMG
