This pair of RECARO CS84 seats were built in Germany in the ‘80s and they are upholstered in original Blue fabric with a matching back seat pocket and netted headrests. The center portion is finished with a two tone gray RECARO patterned fabric design. Features include heat function and power lumbar movement and manual movements for the tilt, slide, and fold functions. The seller has not installed the seats and RECARO brackets are not included. These RECARO CS84 seats are now offered by the seller in the UAE. Worldwide shipping is available at the buyer’s expense.
The seats are upholstered in Blau (Blue) fabric all around with matching bolsters, sides, backs, rear map pockets, and headrests along with RECARO patterned inserts on the center portions. These specific models feature a blue embossed “RECARO” logo in the seat backs and both show in excellent condition as these tend to wear away with use. The seats appear free from any major imperfections or tears and close-ups of the condition are viewable in the gallery. The rear panel features a blue map pocket and is also clad in solid blue fabric with an elastic neck. Some indentations on the fabric are noted.
The seat bottoms are photographed and included in the gallery. The original seat foam, electronics, motors, springs, and manufacturer's labels remain in place and show no mold or water damage. RECARO-branded plastics adorn both sides of the seat bottoms where manual controls for the seatback folding function are located and show no damage or cracks on the black plastics. These do include a manual extendable thigh function and the seller shows the power seat functions on the thigh bolster panels which induce dual axis lumbar and heat with one of the switch bezels missing a small piece at the bottom. The headrests are netted and the headrest rails still retain their rubber gators.

One of the biggest upgrades you can do on your classic Mercedes-Benz is to bolt a set of vintage recaros in place. The original seats are luxurious thrones with a high, commanding seating position. This is why cars like the Cosworth and the E500 got leather trimmed Recaros to match their sporting nature. These Recaros, however, are what the performance cars got if you wanted an additional step up in seat comfort over the factory Recaros. A lot of tuning companies used these seats in this period (see the Oettinger 190E that was listed a few weeks ago) and were used from JDM Toyotas, to BMWs, and seen on a lot of Mercedes. These are in excellent condition as a lot have been stored in less than ideal conditions and water works their way into the metal and seizes them up. The pattern is great and the blue fits a lot of the blue Mercedes interiors that were offered. Stick these in a 190E or a W124 Sportline and you have a really cool car. The seats sit way lower than factory seats, are lighter, and the cloth provides huge grip for the occupants.
