These Mercedes-Benz AMG brakes were removed from a 1994 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG and includes fully rebuilt calipers, pads, and rotors for both the front and rear. The W202 debuted their AMG variant known as the C36 AMG outfitted with a 3.6-liter M104 engine which also got AMG suspension, sway bars, wheels, body kit, interior upgrades, and of course upgraded brakes that are similar to the R129 and W124.034/6 E-Class. These brakes will fit 1994-1995 C36 AMGs and can also be used on early non-AMG W202s, W124s, and W201 with some modifications. This W202 AMG brake kit is being auctioned out of Taiwan and the seller is able to assist with worldwide shipping needs for the buyer.
Showing in excellent restored condition, these front and rear brake calipers were designed by ATE to provide more stopping power for the C36 AMG. The calipers have been media blasted and stripped down during the restoration processes and rebuilt with all new pistons. The front brakes are a four piston design with a two piston design at the rear. AMG stampings in the caliper faces are shown in the gallery and the calipers include brake pads and wear sensors.
Included are brake rotors that show some use but are noted to be in good condition. The front rotors are vented and 320mm in diameter with the rear rotors also being vented and 278mm in diameter. The rears are discontinued by Mercedes-Benz. Part numbers for the front rotors are: HWA 202-421-01-12 (left) and HWA 202-421-02-12 (right).
The brakes are similar in design to the R129 and 124.034/6 cars which received bigger brakes to deal with the extra power from the factory. A C280 from 1994 got 284mm front rotors compared to these 330mm examples and only a two piston design compared to the four pistons. Rears were powered by a single piston caliper and a solid rotor where these are vented rotors with two piston calipers. This AMG brake kit should fit other W202s, W124s, and the W201 which would need front spindles off of a W124 to work.

If you like to drive fast, you’ll know brakes are as important as power. This W202 AMG brake kit is fantastic to see on The MB Market as the first production year of the C36 AMG was a hand assembled, true pre-merger car. In short, these brakes are super rare and will be a worthwhile upgrade to a W124, W201, or a non-AMG W202. Upgrading aside, if you own a C36 AMG you’ll know that parts are getting harder to find and it might be worth bidding on these to have them for a rainy day. The seller has gone through the effort of restoring the calipers to like-new condition with new pistons, seals, and a deep clean. The rare rotors have been resurfaced and are ready to be bolted to the car along with deep pad thickness shown in the gallery. It would be worth it to replace brake hoses with braided stainless steel units and good, high-temp fluid during the swap and your brake system will be incredibly dialed in.
