This is not a reproduction part and is a Genuine Mercedes-Benz assembly that was removed from a low-grill Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 (W111.027). The frame is complete and in good condition with normal signs of age and use. Mercedes-Benz OEM part number is as follows: 111 770 50 02. This soft top frame fits 1961 to 1971 Mercedes-Benz convertibles with the chassis designation of: W 111.023, 111.025, 111.027. & 112.023.
The seller has added detailed photos in the gallery highlighting the joints, armatures, pins, hinges, welds, and shows the top articulating through its various stages of retraction. There is no surface corrosion or rust present on the metallurgy and shows the original cream paint. This frame assembly does not include the fabric soft top. The W111 soft top was manually operated without the use of motors. The seller assures the articulation works and can be used as a bolt-in part on another W111 Cabriolet.

With the W111 having entered collector car status ages ago, parts have always been at a premium for these cars as a lot of them are no longer available and you have to turn to the used market to source most of them. A hugely complex and fragile piece like this complete top frame assembly is hard to find – especially in this condition. We’ve interacted with several W111 cabriolets where the frames were just kind of wonky or missing pieces or showed signs of corrosion on the armatures which is just commonplace nowadays.
