This 1995 Mercedes-Benz E36 AMG Wagon was ordered in Germany and received modifications from Affalterbach tuning house AMG, whose merger with Mercedes-Benz was nearing completion at the time. The datacard shows option code 957 designating the car to be modified by AMG from new with the full optics package and engine upgrade. AMG modifications include a 3.6L AMG tuned engine, a full AMG body kit, 280-KPH AMG speedometer, factory Recaro sport leather seats, and 17" AMG monoblock wheels. Finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) over Black Leather (271), power is provided by a bored and stroked 3.6-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission turning the rear wheels. The car has underwent a full nut and bolt restoration including a rebuild of both the engine and transmission, full repaint, new axels, new wiring harness, and much more with approximately 50-60k € in receipts from 2015-2024. Now with 297k km (~184k miles), this restored AMG Wagon is being offered by the selling dealer in Germany with manufacturer's literature, restoration documentation and a clean German title.
This S124 has a full AMG optioned body kit and Code 957 denoting it was destined to be sent to Affalterbach for modifications when it was produced which includes a front air dam, side skirts, and rear bumper. The Gen 2 AMG bodywork is finished in classic Black Pearl Metallic (199) and a full professional repaint was done with photo documentation provided in the gallery. Additional exterior equipment includes E500 headlights, front fog lights in bumper, power antenna, power rear hatch wiper, a power tilt/slide sunroof, vacuum actuated central locking.
Upfitted 17” AMG Aero II monoblock wheels are fitted with GoodYear Eagle F1 tires measuring 235/45 front and rear tires. All four corners have been upfitted with R230 SL500 brakes. Extensive underbody photos are provided showing a full stainless steel exhaust and restoration documentation.
The front and rear sport seats are wrapped in Black Leather (271) while the polished Burl Walnut trim accents the center console, dashboard, and door panels. This AMG has option 244 checked, fitting it with Recaro built sport seats also seen in the 500E that have both power adjustments and two-mode heat. Other appointments are cruise control, automatic climate control, floor mats, and a Becker Grand Prix 2000 head unit. A fire extinguisher is mounted under the driver seat from the factory. The rear hatch door feature soft-close functionality and is fully operational.
The leather steering wheel fronts an AMG-specific 280-KPH speedometer along with a 7k-RPM tachometer, an analog clock, oil pressure gauge, fuel read out, and coolant temperature gauge. The six-digit odometer shows 297k kilometers from new or 184k miles.
The original 3.2-liter M104 inline-six engine was bored and stroked to 3.6-liters by AMG in Germany and fitted with custom AMG camshafts which help the engine to produce a silky 276-horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque that’s sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed 722.3 automatic transmission. The car has underwent a full nut and bolt restoration including a rebuild of both the engine and transmission, new axels, new wiring harness, and upgraded R230 brakes with approximately 50-60k € in receipts from 2015-2024.
The AMG Engineering option code 957 on the datacard denotes it was destined to be converted as an authentic E36 AMG from the factory. This S124 comes with original manufacturer's literature, restoration documentation and a clean German title.

@wahip everything under the hood has been replaced... nobody pulls the crank and mounts an old harness ;)
A cold start video has been added to the listing.
@wahip No connection to seller but it does say the harness has been replaced in the text. I am jealous of whoever wins this car, if it was RHD would be bidding myself.
Any confirmation of the wiring harness inspection to detect biodegradable coating failure or replacement?

I'm curious why seller won't post any of the invoices/service history for this car... I'm sure it would only add value and more documentation to support a higher bid.

Very nice car. Few parts to add: - AMG badges to engine and rear lid - cable harness cover behind the engine - holder for hose between extension tank and radiator - left front fender seal under the engine hood And that looks very strange to leave the wood unrestored.

@DW168 We can help getting the logistics done, of course. Documentation will be handed to winner of this auction
Beautiful vehicle. Can seller please post restoration invoices? Will seller also assist those in the U.S. with importation and customs/DOT clearance?
