This 2002 Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG was sold new in California where it remained until 2019 and shows registration in Nevada and Washington state since. Equipment includes xenon headlamps, 18″ AMG wheels, a factory AMG bodykit, power-adjustable heated front seats, cruise control, COMAND, Bose audio, and a lockable safe located beneath the front passenger seat. A recent oil and filter change has been performed in preparation for the sale. Additional service in 2021 included a new radiator, harmonic balancer, A/C condenser, drier and seals along with a new fuel pump and all fresh fluids. This ML55 has 158k miles and is now offered by the seller with factory literature, partial service records, two keys, a Carfax report, and a clean Washington title.
The ML is finished in designo Opal Brown Metallic (486) and is equipped with an AMG body kit consisting of revised bumpers, side skirts, hood, and fender flares. Additional exterior features include fog lights, xenon headlamps with washers, a power sunroof, roof rails, and a factory exhaust with dual AMG-stamped outlets. The included Carfax report shows no accidents with one minor damage report in 2012. The headlights are both OEM and remain clear with no signs of oxidation. The seller notes the roof and fender flares are beginning to show signs of fading along with minor rock chips across the nose.
Authentic two-piece 19″ AMG wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires measuring 295/45 on all four corners and show 2019 date codes. Braking is provided by Mercedes-Benz branded calipers clamping discs at all four corners.
The cabin features seats upholstered in two-tone designo Brown and Black Exclusive leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Wood veneer accents the center console, doors, and steering wheel. Equipment includes power-adjustable heated front seats, driver’s seat memory, cruise control, air conditioning, Bose audio, and a lockable safe located beneath the front passenger seat. The rear cargo area is equipped with the factory spare tire, cover, first aid kit, and jack. The original floor mats included are embroidered with designo and trimmed in designo brown leather. All electronics reportedly function as designed including A/C and heat. The seats show minor creasing in the leather along with some normal wear along the steering wheel.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames white AMG instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Digital readouts for outside temperature and time are located on each side with all pixels in working order. The digital odometer shows 158k miles.
The 5.4-liter M113 V8 produced 342 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission with a dual-speed transfer case. In preparation for the sale a fluid flush was performed including coolant, oil, and transmission. A recent oil and filter change has been performed in preparation for the sale. Additional service in 2021 included a new radiator, harmonic balancer, A/C condenser, drier and seals along with a new fuel pump. All fluids were also flushed in 2021 which included coolant, engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid.
Only 735 units were offered for the U.S. market in 2002 with very few as designo editions. The Carfax report lists no accidents and the aforementioned minor damage along with linear mileage updates and 27 service history records since new. This ML55 now has 158k miles and is offered with factory literature, partial service records, two keys, a Carfax report, and a clean Washington title.

Excellent photography considering that this particular color is best shot in low light conditions. Low light meaning the low angle of the sun. 28 years shooting cars and this would be the exact time I would shoot the car too. GLWTS!

@zoccierampqt take a look at the (imperfections) video, it will show a more true video 360° of the whole car, including paint fade, scratches, etc.
Great Looking car -- but while the pics looks good, it may not be reflection of reality and we are bidding remotely just on what we see. With shadow of trees and reflection of sun in an evening setting does not help. Some of these pics will not be approved in other auction sites.
Three additional videos have been added to the listing along with 16 additional photos showing various details and features.

Any startup or driving videos?
@albanianbenz....also looking forward to the roof photos to see the degree of paint fade. I would keep the current rims on the vehicle...they fit nicely. Thanks
@albanianbenz - they are great. I had one of these no designo. Replaced the stock rims w/ 20” Lorinzors.
@Jnasty these wheels are European only
@albanianbenz - thanks. Will look for the pics. Fair on the wheels. OEM easier to source than these ha ha.
@Jnasty I can add some more detailed photos tomorrow or Sunday, there is paint fade on top of the fender flares and on the roof. This is how I obtained the car, but I do have an extra set of OEM alloy wheels for it sitting around, without tires, if you like, I can switch them out, and put a new set of tires on them, but not willing to include both.
@albanianbenz - couple things please 1) lots of filtering on the photos, dark. Need more info on the state of the paint, see some scratched on the rear bumper. How is the front? And see some rash on the hood? How bad? And any other bad paint/rash worthy of refinish? Also, are you committing to delivering the OEM wheels w the truck too? These are stunning, but kind of a purist :)

Owned a couple ML55's, loved each one and I'm still convinced it will be one of their greats from that era.

Love seeing these pop up for sale every once in a while. I've had my 2000 ML55 for a year now and it's got 153k miles (I've added 15k). These are fun to drive and will run forever. I've seen lots with 300-500k miles on some of the social media pages I follow. I've never seen these wheels on an ML55 though - they look great!
