Finished in Black (040) over Charcoal Nappa Leather (281), power is provided by a hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged V8 paired with an AMG-enhanced five-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. This CL55 AMG is now offered for sale by the selling dealer in Winter Garden, Florida with the original manufacturer’s literature, a spare tire and tool kit, a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title.
This pillarless coupe is finished in Black (040) and features AMG body styling including a sculpted front air dam with mesh intakes, sculpted side skirts and a rear apron. Exterior features include Bi-Xenon headlamps, power folding mirrors with an auto-dimming driver side, rain-sensing wipers, remote central locking, a power tilt/slide glass sunroof and polished quad AMG exhaust tips. The rear passenger-side jack point cover is missing. The seller notes that the front bumper, hood and roof were repainted under previous ownership to remediate faded clear coat. The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage reports with no body damage or rust visible on the car.
The staggered 18” AMG twin five-spoke alloy wheels come wrapped in a set of Continental ProContact TX tires measuring 245/45 front and 265/40 rear on all four corners. Braking is handled by AMG 8-piston calipers front and 4-pistons rear with ventilated discs. New rotors front and rear were recently fitted by the seller. The Active Body Control suspension offers adjustable ride height and stiffness and recently received maintenance from the selling dealer including four new accumulators, a new filter and a complete system flush and calibration.
The cabin is trimmed in Charcoal Nappa Leather (281) with matching black AMG embroidered floor mats and Chestnut wood trim which can be found along the center console, gear selector, dashboard and door panels. Both front seats are heated and ventilated with 14-way adjustment and come equipped with multicontour with massage functions. Additional interior amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, a power rear sunshade, a Bose 10-speaker audio system and a 6-disc CD changer. The seller reports that the COMAND display is faded and the volume control knob functions intermittently. The AC is said to blow cold and the blower motor harness has been updated.
The four-spoke leather steering wheel fronts an AMG-specific gauge cluster housing a 200-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Digital instrumentation includes an outside temperature sensor, a digital clock and a configurable display which shows the current mileage at 93k miles.
This C215 is powered by a hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged M113K V8 engine which is factory rated for 493 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG-enhanced five-speed automatic transmission. Additional maintenance items performed by the seller include a new radiator, new valve cover gaskets, two new ignition wires, a coolant flush and new coolant lines. The seller also notes that before being delivered to the new owner, the car will receive an oil change, new intake and cabin air filters, a transmission service and a differential flush.
The Carfax report shows first registration in New York with later registration reported in Delaware and Florida under five owners. Linear mileage updates are shown from new along with regular service reports. No accidents or damage reports appear on the Carfax. This CL55 is now offered for sale by Royal Motors North in Winter Garden, Florida with the original manufacturer’s literature, a set of all weather floor mats, a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title in the previous owner’s name.
When it comes to big body coupes, the pillarless CL-class (aka S-class coupe) is always among the best in the business. From a value perspective, we can’t think of another competing vehicle that we’d rather spend the money on. The supercharged M113 is one of the best power plants to ever come from AMG and is the perfect fit for the muscular bodywork of this CL55. While the M113 and 722.6 pairing is renowned for its reliability, the same cannot always be said in regard to the ABC suspension. Fortunately, this example received extensive work on the system including four new accumulators, a new filter and a complete flush and calibration. The seller, who is also a European auto repair shop, also performed extensive maintenance on the cooling system and various other components ensuring this flagship AMG will perform as intended for its lucky new owner.

@thphon My mechanic worked at the dealer in New Orleans for several years. He’s outstanding. He said they never could figure out what was causing it to intermittently go out, other than some kind of radar or radio transmitter somewhere nearby that disables it. I just drove it southbound on the causeway to New Orleans and it gets disabled within two miles upon entering the bridge. The bizarre thing is that it works perfectly northbound from New Orleans to the north shore and the span is maybe 50 feet away from the southbound lanes! Crazy. I just got here and saw RNM on this beautiful CL. I hope they can get a deal done. Have a great evening

@Static50 the SL550 from 07 had the old distronic , as far as I know they replaced it for the newer version on the R231. I owned briefly a 07 CL600 and had the improved distronic that can get to a full stop and accelerate again. You know, what you are describing happened to me all the time with the distronic from the CL600 and since the older version worked always perfect for me (besides the limitations by design, of course) I was convinced the system was busted on my CL600. So I wonder if the distronic on your C215 isn't busted as well
@thphon I also have a 2008 CL600 and a 2009 S600, both with Distronic and it is much improved over any W220 or 215 like this. It was upgraded with the W221/216 series without nearly any issues. Not only my opinion but others that have had it, so it’s your call. I’m just sharing my experiences. I’m getting ready to drive it across the Causeway bridge across Lake Pontchartrain and the Distronic will become disabled within the first two miles, guaranteed!
@Static50 oh you had a bad experience with it? I had it in a 07 SL550 and loved it!
@thphon If you’re considering this car, the lack of Distronic is a positive. It’s very unreliable in this generation. I have an 05 S600 with it and hate it. Interference shuts it down regularly and the car must be turned off to reset it.

How about the ABC? Any warning lights? Any sweating from the hydraulic suspension? Has the suspension been replaced? At the current age & Mileage this would normally be due.
Bidders, Some info on the CL55, although I don't have any previous service records this car went through a lot of service and maintenance repairs. The following is what has been done to the car with in the last few months that we have owned car. Valve cover gasket, oil filler cap, Lower oil pan reseal and replace oil level sender, Blower Motor harness update, coolant hose connector, new radiator, cooling system flush w/new MB coolant, brake fluid flush, transmission service, engine oil service, front lower ball joints, front lower forward control arms(ball joints and control arms replaced this week after pics where taken so pictures of under car show old parts) front and rear brake disc, washer fluid reservoir seal, cap and a pump, (4) suspension accumulators, I suspension fluid filter and complete suspension fluid flush (no more ABC loud groaning noise in car)3rd brake light lens on trunk, 2 engine mounts and transmission mount. Car runs and drives smoothly, nice smooth shift between all gears. We went through this car as I was going to let my 19 year old son have it. I wanted it t be trouble free and as in good shape. But after driving it I have realized this is just way to much power for a 19 year old kid. I have purchased him a Bmw 4 cylinder turbo. Anymore questions about car please just ask and I will answer.
