This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG was originally sold by Lokey Mercedes-Benz in Clearwater, Florida in 2017 and remained in the state until 2010. Now showing 124k miles, it is finished in Black (040) over Black AMG Premium Leather (281) and powered by a hand-built 6.2-liter AMG V8 mated to an AMG SpeedShift seven-speed automatic transmission. Recent service includes a regular oil change, new front control arms, new spark plugs, coil packs and a rebuilt transmission with warranty. Features include an electronic trunk closer, heated and ventilated front seats, Keyless-Go and a power rear sunshade. Modifications consist of an ECU and TCU tune, secondary cat and resonator deletes, aftermarket air boxes and aftermarket headlights. This CLS63 AMG is now being offered for sale by the current owner with a clean Carfax report and clean Michigan title w/lien.
The exterior is finished in Black (040) and features AMG body styling with sculpted front and rear bumpers and side skirts with quad chrome exhaust outlets. Bi-xenon headlights with active curvelight illumination have been replaced with aftermarket units as viewable in the photos. Exterior features include a power tilt/slide glass sunroof, heated headlamp washers and an electronic trunk closer. The seller notes that some of the clear coat is beginning to fade on the roof. While the sunroof opens and closes, the seller also mentions that the one-touch feature occasionally does not function properly and the rear sunshade fuctionality is intermittent.
The standard 18” wheels have been replaced with 19” AMG five-spoke alloy wheels from the S63 of this era with Michelin front tires measuring 245/35 and Kumho rear tires measuring 285/30. Curb rash is visible on the wheels and noted in the gallery. AMG-calibrated dual-control air suspension allows for adjustability of stiffness through different driving modes and the front control arms were replaced at 121k miles.
The cabin is trimmed in Black AMG Premium Leather (281) and features Alcantara shoulder sections on the seat backs. Matte Burl Walnut wood trim lines the center console, dashboard and door panels and shows no signs of cracking or discoloration. The power-adjustable multicontour front seats are both heated and ventilated with three-position memory including the steering column position for the driver. Interior amenities include stainless steel pedals with rubber studs, COMAND with navigation, Keyless-Go with push-button start on the shift knob, a power rear window sunshade, four-zone automatic climate control and a Harman Kardon sound system.
The leather-wrapped AMG sport steering wheel fronts a 200-mph speedometer which sits alongside an 8k-rpm tachometer and analog clock with digital gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A centrally mounted configurable digital display sits above the digital odometer which reads 123,752 miles from new. Aluminum shift paddles mounted behind the steering wheel can be used to control the AMG SpeedShift transmission.
This four-door coupe is powered by a hand-built 6.2-liter M156 engine which is factory rated at 507 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque which is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG SpeedShift seven-speed automatic transmission. An ECU and TCU tune have been installed by Kirkland Hans and the car has also received a secondary cat and resonator delete. The most recent service was a full transmission rebuild occurring at 123k miles and includes a warranty. Spark plugs and coil packs were replaced at 121k miles along with a power steering fluid flush and new filter as well as engine oil and oil filter. The seller notes that the cam adjusters occasionally rattle on start-up.
A cold start, walkaround and driving video is viewable below.
The C219, a four-door coupe, was a very new and unusual concept for its time. Pairing the sporty styling of a coupe with the practicality of a sedan, the CLS was able to create an experience that provided the best of both worlds. The first AMG offering came with an M113k as the CLS55 but was quickly changed to the CLS63 at the introduction of the M156; AMG’s first in-house engine. With a much higher redline, producing peak horsepower at 6,800 rpm, the M156 brought a much sportier presence than the 55 motor while a new AMG SpeedShift seven-speed automatic brough more responsive and rev-matched shifts. This paired with the luxuries of a C219 makes for a very intriguing offering for an AMG enthusiast looking for a fast daily driver which offers good value for money.

Thanks everyone for your interest/questions/inquiries for my CLS63. I'll be near my computer at the office in case any last minute questions pop up. Best of luck to everyone and I'm sure someone will take home a very nice CLS. :)
@Slb0151 nothing at the moment, car runs and drives very well
I am interested but concerned about mechanics. You have already replaced the trans, what is needed?
@Slb0151 Started a business and got a more practical daily driver for the winter months. This car hasn't seen salt and I'd rather keep it that way. I'm in Northville/Salem Twp area.
Why are selling so soon? I am in Michigan, where is it located?
